All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Why do so many people look for a perfect world while living in a fallen world? The perfect world is yet to come.

Why do Christians expect an easy life on earth when God tells us that our life will be hard and full of trials and tribulation?

Has Christianity lost its way? Has the pulpit stopped presenting people with truth? Are pulpits failing to prepare them for a life of service and struggle while living as strangers in this fallen world?

Even a quick study of early church history, both from the NT era and the next two centuries tell us how difficult it is to be a Christian in a fallen world. Why do people think that the aged church will have it easier than the newly born church?

Oh the blood of Jesus Oh the blood. Roy thank you for posting this song. Yall this song is speaking to my heart.... I am so blind and I just cannot for the life of me get it. I cannot get that I have another chance. Please pray for me

His blood cleanses us from all our sin. We are made clean because of what He has done. It does not matter what our sin is. We are made whole in Him. Our sins are removed from us as far as the east is from the west. Blessed be our Savior.

Roy,

No sweat. Feel free to continue discussing this :-)

Amanda,

Good points and I will not marry anyone without counseling with them first with the right to decline.

I think requiring counseling before marriage is good. A pastor represents the church of God. I think the church has failed in this area. My son faces this in his church in Wyoming. So many are living together and want the church to marry them. I think they should live apart awhile and then be married. I'm not sure what we are doing marrying people that were sleeping together the night before.

One of the things that people use against the church is that the church often seems to overlook certain sin while attempting to address other sin. We need to stand up and call sin sin, God does. If we did that could you imagine the response of those who currently complain that the church ignores certain sin ....

I also find it outrageous when we stand up for God's Word that we can be labeled as if these stupid labels are going to scare us in to submission. If I call homosexual activity sin, because God calls it sin. that does not make me homophobic, yet some today will try and apply that label to me. I find that ridiculous ... I am not afraid of homsexuals nor do I hate them, but I will not call sin (all types of sin) acceptable to appease others nor to remove falsely created heat from me either.

BTW, I also will seek to determine if a divorced person divorced on Biblical grounds and have a standing before God before I will marry them.

Because we've become a bunch of spoiled brats.

Tammy,

You my be on to something there :-)

Excellent word. Christians are falling into the same trap the world is in. The world is ready to do whatever compromising they feel is necessary to make their lives as easy as possible and they don't care who or what is hurt as a result of these compromises.

That is why we must learn to stand fast on the Word of God ,which never changes, and hold fast to our belief that God is in control and everything (irregardless of how we see it at the time) will indeed work out for our ultimate good.

Sometimes it is more exciting (maybe not the best word) to have our trials when we have the earnest expectation that God is allowing it to come to bring us closer to Him.

God bless you , my friend

LT,

Many a times, I wonder.."why am I going through struggles when I have accepted Jesus as my personal Saviour"  Isn't Jesus supposed to take away all those pain and difficult times in my life.

I felt so disappointed with Jesus..I spoke about my disappointment to my Pastor and he gave me a clearer picture of God's work and Jesus promise to us.

Now every  Sunday when I attend Church, listening to my pastors messages has  made me realise how wrong I was.....to expect the best in this world.  Truly God has made me stronger to endure the worse situation and I stand tall in his eyes now...

Praise Goes to you Jesus...

Amen!!!

I'm reading a very good book right now by Priscilla Shrirer called "One in a Million".  It answers a lot about wilderness experiences using the Israelite's freedom from Egypt's bondage as the guideline.  A very good read.
