All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

The only false prophets I had ever seen or heard were either on TV or radio.  But I got a taste of a real live face to face encounter on Sunday morning after the service.

Here is what happened:

In church on Sunday morning, I requested prayer for  a situation (you will see this in a Praise Report to the LORD in my next blog), a man who had never been to our church before came up to me and told me he was a prophet of the Most High God and grabbed my hands to give me what he said was a message from the LORD.  Immediately upon looking into his eyes, I recognized there was no love or compassion in what he was telling me.   I also felt in my spirit this man was a false prophet sent by Satan.  You see Satan had been attacking me all day Saturday and when I went to church Sunday, he came after me there.  The closer we get to the LORD, the more Satan will come after us.

That must have been scary. How l identify false prophets is when anything or anybody gives me the creeps.

God is love, peace, joy, long suffering, patient and kind among many, many other good virtues. He would never, ever send you a message of fear, worry, guilt or put you in a more tighter situation than you are. That one was not an angel for sure...

I've never experienced them face to face myself. Just on here & on TV.

I had a situation kind of like this, but I was the person bringing the message. Sometimes I doubt myself and it was new for me. I was fairly sure God was asking me to deliver a message. This Christian man has a healing ministry. God said to ask for their blessed oil and anoint his hands. So I blessed his hands with oil and told him he has a healing ministry. I delivered the message. He said he thought he had a healing ministry, but was hesitant. He's like me unsure of himself. He would never have believed me except I anointed his hands with oil.

Some of the false prophets are pretty convincing. I'm still unsure of myself.

It makes sense. We aren't supposed to lay hands suddenly on anyone. I like to ask if it's ok. To me it's not very loving (the love of God) to suddenly lay hands on someone.

I knew a lady who did and i hear she dtill does give proficys. I remember almost anytime she prayed for people she would give a word or sometimes at work she would be praying then loudly say this or that would happen. Her friends believed her to be a propht , prophettis what ever women are called. She was my friend too and I believed her to be a fruitcake. Her and other christians uoted some scripture to me about not believeing someone from your own town. She has gave me word before and I knew ir wasnt from God. She even sometimes gives year dates. I ask her once after 2006 came and went why God would tell her about the building the church would get and they didnt. I said why He tell you and then He doesnt? Her answer was she didnt know. God doesnt lie but she wasnt willing to admit she was wrong. Theses things happened alot but yet she still does t and people still believe her to be Gods spokeswoman. ... I am wondering.. whats the difference of a word from God and prohecy?

Michelle,

Knowing you I believe that any battle that you have would not hinder onto someone else. As long as you face your battles with God. He knows you are a sinner. You know you are a sinner. We will never be 100% clean. So you surrendering and your faith gives you the right to touch another person.

Now what I say, does that make any sense?

I dont know scripture at all but I am confused... I thought that the born agains are washed white as snow by the blood of Jesus.  Im not being a punk I just dont understand what you mean by not being 100 percent clean. Maybe this is why i feel im not brn again. I know im dirty in sin... Im sorry i cant even understand what im trying to ask... but im trying. I also know christians stuble and continue to call themselves sinners.

I was an old sinner, but I have been saved by Grace and I am washed in the blood of Jesus and made righteous; how can you call anything that is the righteousness of God a sinner? I would think this would confuse anyone. In my flesh, yes! But that is not me anymore, I am a new creation. For we are His workmanship; created in Christ Jesus unto good works…Eph.2:10.

Isn’t a sinner unrighteous? The Word says in 1Jo.1:7-9, But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth  us from all sin.

So if we are cleansed from all sin, how can we be called a sinner?

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Only in our flesh do we have sin. Our spirits cannot sin because they are born of God, so the sin we commit in the flesh, does not contaminate, or affect our spirits, but it does affect our souls and flesh.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I think this scripture mainly refers to when we first come to the Lord as a sinner, because He is not imputing our trespasses against us now that we are born again. Besides, if we had to confess everything we did wrong, including the things we didn’t do that we should have done, I think it would be impossible to remember every sin we have committed. But if I do miss the mark; I just say Lord I missed it, and I thank you Father that your Word says in Ro.4:6 “Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works; saying Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”

If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us. 1 Jo. 1:7-10

Thank you JB and Michelle ,  This helps me a little better to understand, Maybe I cant ever believe I am saved because I have been confusing flesh and spirit.  But really thank you.

Praise God your sins are forgiven by the blood of Jesus. He died for those who proclaim Him as the Son of God and you are on of them.Dont Ever doubt, worry or fear, those are the devils three greatest weapons.tell the devil to get behind you.remember this simple song"l once was lost but now am found, was blind but now l see!"Yes child of God.you are Born again. stay there through never ceasing prayers of forgiveness and thanksgiving and Praise to our Father through Jesus.

I have ,on a number of occasions had someone give me a'word from the Lord' as they called it. Sometimes it made no sense at all and never came to pass. I was reminded of the statute in the Levitical law that states if a man claims to be speaking for the Lord and it does not come to pass that the person is to be killed. I guess that kind of reveals God's opinion about people who prophesy in His name and are not from Him.

When ever this occurs ( and it hasn't happened lately) I just quietly pray and ask the Lord to either confirm the words of the person or to get them away from me. I never take action on a persons word alone. Only after prayer or if the Lord had already been dealing with me about this and the persons words were a 'confirmation' of what the Lord was already trying to get through to me. The latter has happened a couple of times but I'm not sure if that is actually considered prophesy in the sense you are speaking of.

Anyhow, God bless

No but I've often been accused of being one
