Philippians 4:2-9 Let us be of one mind and spirit

Let us be of one mind, and ready to help each other. as we follow the example of Jesus Christ Let us seek to give assurance that our names are written in the book of life. Joy in God is of great consequence in the Christian life; we need to be again and again called to it. It more than outweighs all causes for sorrow. Let their enemies perceive how moderate they were as to outward things, and how composedly they suffered loss and hardships. The day of judgment will soon arrive, with full…

Rom 5:6-11 Christ died for all

Christ died for sinners; not only such as were useless, but such as were guilty and hateful; such that their everlasting destruction would be to the glory of God's justice. Christ died to save us, not in our sins, but from our sins; and we were yet sinners when he died for us. Nay, the carnal mind is not only an enemy to God, but enmity itself, Rom 8:7 Col 1:21, But God designed to deliver from sin, and to work a great change. While the sinful state…

Rom 5:1-5 Justifacation

A blessed change takes place in the sinner's state, when he becomes a true believer, whatever he has been. Being justified by faith he has peace with God. The holy, righteous God, cannot be at peace with a sinner, while under the guilt of sin. Justification takes away the guilt, and so makes way for peace. This is through our Lord Jesus Christ; through him as the great Peace-maker, the Mediator between God and man. The saints' happy state is a state of grace. Into this…

Eph 6:10 -18 Spiritual strength and courage is needed in Warfare

Spiritual strength and courage are needed for our spiritual warfare and suffering. Those who would prove themselves to have true grace, must aim at all grace; and put on the whole armor of God, which he prepares and bestows. The Christian armor is made to be worn; and there is no putting off our armor till we have done our warfare, and finished our course. The combat is not against human enemies, nor against our own corrupt nature only; we have to do with an enemy who has a thousand ways of…

Love

The professed love of Christians to each other should be sincere, free from deceit, and unmeaning and deceitful compliments. Depending on Divine grace, they must detest and dread all evil, and love and delight in whatever is kind and useful. We must not only do that which is good, but we must cleave to it. All our duty towards one another is summed up in one word, love. This denotes the love of parents to their children; which is more tender and natural than any other;…

Romans 12:3-8 Pride

Pride is a sin in us by nature; we need to be cautioned and armed against it. All the saints make up one body in Christ, who is the Head of the body, and the common Centre of their unity. In the spiritual body, some are fitted for and called to one sort of work; others for another sort of work. We are to do all the good we can, one to another, and for the common benefit. If we duly thought about the powers we have, and how far we fail properly to improve them, it would…

THE CHRISTIAN WALK

The Christian walk is absolutely thrilling, pleasant and full of energy. It is a safe walk and is joy un-speakable. We are walking with the Lord and it is His presence that makes all the difference. Even though we may encounter hidden snares and walk an unfamiliar path there is no fear of getting lost. We are never on our own as Jesus is accompanying us. Jn 10:11, 14, 15 Jesus died for us and knows his own.

Walking behind the Lord:

Jn 10:4 And when he puts forth his own…

Prov 3:27-35 observe the precepts of Christ, and copy his example;

observe the precepts of Christ, and to copy his example; to do justice, to love mercy, and to beware of covetousness; to be ready for every good work, avoiding needless strife, and bearing evils, if possible, rather than seeking redress by law. It will be found there is little got by striving. Let us not envy prosperous oppressors; far be it from the disciples of Christ to choose any of their ways. These truths may be despised by the covetous and luxurious, but…

Prov 3:13-20 seek diligently for wisdom

Solomon had pressed us earnestly to seek diligently for wisdom Prov 2:1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; and had assured us that we should succeed in our sincere and constant pursuits. But the question is, What shall we get by it when we have found it? Prospect of advantage is the spring and spur of industry; he therefore shows us how much it will be to our…

Prov 3:21-26 Let us not suffer in hardship stand on the word

Let us not suffer Christ's words to depart from us, but keep sound wisdom and discretion; then shall we walk safely in his ways. The natural life, and all that belongs to it, shall be under the protection of God's providence; the spiritual life, and all its interests, under the protection of his grace, so that we shall be kept from falling into sin or trouble.

Let not them depart from your eyes - Never forget that God,…

Prov 3:7-12 There is not a greater enemy to the fear of the Lord

There is not a greater enemy to the fear of the Lord in the heart, than self-conceit of our own wisdom. The prudence and sobriety which religion teaches, tend not only to the health of the soul, but to the health of the body. Worldly wealth is but poor substance, yet, such as it is, we must honour God with it; and those that do good with what they have, shall have more to do more good with. Should the Lord visit us with trials and sickness, let us not forget…

Proverbs 3:1-6

In the way of believing obedience to God's commandments health and peace may commonly be enjoyed; and though our days may not be long upon earth, we shall live for ever in heaven. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee; God's mercy in promising, and his truth in performing: live up to them, keep up thine interest in them, and take the comfort of them. We must trust in the Lord with all our hearts, believing he is able and wise to do what is best. Those who know…

Charity

Some of the effects of charity are stated, that we may know whether we have this grace; and that if we have not, we may not rest till we have it. This love is a clear proof of regeneration, and is a touchstone of our professed faith in Christ. In this beautiful description of the nature and effects of love, it is meant to show the Corinthians that their conduct had, in many respects, been a contrast to it. Charity is an utter enemy to selfishness; it does not desire or…

Teach me your laws.

 True believers take the Lord for the portion of their inheritance, and nothing less will satisfy them. as David prayed with his whole heart,knowing how to value the blessing he prayed for: he desired the mercy promised, and depended on the promise for it. He turned from by-paths, and returned to God's testimonies. He delayed not. It behoves sinners to hasten to escape;

and the believer will be equally in…

Forgiveness

one thing I have learnt and that is to forgive myself and forgive those that have come and left for we are all human and if we all can accept each other as Christ accepted us it will be like the garden of eve. as peter ask Jesus how many times must I forgive my brother up to 7 times Jesus replied No not 7 times but up to 70 times 7 we must forgive, for if you Love God and hate your brother that is like saying you do not love as God from the heart, we are to love and forgive everyone even…

Lover

Though you have not seen him, you love him. And even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy,1 Peter 1:8.

We  have an unseen Lover, but He's not on Skype of Facebook, so we are unable to see His face and form. So even though we have not seen Him, when we meet Him we will not be desappointed. There is…

UNCLEAN THOUGHTS / PURE THOUGHTS

Your thoughts determine the type of day you will have. As we fill our mind with positive ideas, suggestions, and thoughts. We will find it will change our attitude ‘and changing your attitude can change your life’. We all have the choice when it comes to our own attitude - it can be positive or it can be negative, the choice is ours. Sometimes just reading an inspirational quote or a short writing focuses my thinking in a positive “Now faith is being sure of…

JOY

Psa 16:11  You make the path of life known to me. Complete joy is in your presence. Pleasures are by your side forever.

Everyone wants to have a life with more times of joy than times of sorrow.  In fact, if we had our choice, we’d probably choose to have no sorrow at all. But joy is a very fleeting thing; it can appear for a moment then be gone. People can bring us joy, but they change and disappoint us. There is only one source of joy that is endless, that is eternal, and…
