JOY

Psa 16:11  You make the path of life known to me. Complete joy is in your presence. Pleasures are by your side forever.

Everyone wants to have a life with more times of joy than times of sorrow.  In fact, if we had our choice, we’d probably choose to have no sorrow at all. But joy is a very fleeting thing; it can appear for a moment then be gone. People can bring us joy, but they change and disappoint us. There is only one source of joy that is endless, that is eternal, and that is in the person Jesus Christ. He is the source of all joy! And is a fruit of the Spirit.

 If we have received Jesus as Saviour, then His presence lives within us I think when the pressures of life come, we often forget the joy. We get caught up in the problem of the moment, rather to Jesus who left His spirit to abide in us that is unchangeable One, Who can give in the middle of any conflict, pain sadness.  Because He lives within us we don’t have to search around for Him, He’s there waiting for us to call on Him. His presence is with us every day all day.

 It is during the times of difficulty and sadness that we need to make special times to be “in His presence.’ We need to set aside a time just to sit with Him, to be still, to receive His peace to let Him speak to us and encourage us. Notice the end of the verse- it says “eternal pleasures at your right hand.” God has waiting for us joy, and pleasure, that we have no idea about. These pleasures as forever and can never be taken away from us

 Our God is a God of infinite goodness, endless variety, and a God Who takes great delight in His Children. So take time with Him a be refreshed in His presence. Let His joy fill your heart. You will then be strengthened to continue life’s journey, for His joy is our strength.

 Thank you for the promises of your word. I will come into your presence and receive your joy and all that you have for me. I love you Thank you, in Jesus’ Name
