All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Your thoughts determine the type of day you will have. As we fill our mind with positive ideas, suggestions, and thoughts. We will find it will change our attitude ‘and changing your attitude can change your life’. We all have the choice when it comes to our own attitude - it can be positive or it can be negative, the choice is ours. Sometimes just reading an inspirational quote or a short writing focuses my thinking in a positive “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Prov 4:23-24

“Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.”  Romans 12:2 “God has given us His Spirit.  That’s why we don’t think the same way that the people of this world think.”  1 Corinthians 2:12 Most of all that is in the world what we hear and see is not based on the love that Christians should show each other.  It is so often full of hate, yelling, screaming, arguing, fighting, killing, total chaos and outrageous disharmony.   People of this world, This makes me think of people who act rashfully too easily.  They do not really love each other or even really care about each other.  They are getting married for selfish reasons and their “marriage” quickly turns to divorce.  That’s because they never realized that a real marriage starts by thinking about your spouse and trying to make your spouse happy.  As soon as we try to please ourselves rather than our spouse, we are not holding up our end of the marriage.  When both spouses are trying to please and think of their own selves, the “marriage” disintegrates. We are no to be unequally yoked with unbelievers’ yet be of the same mind in Christ.

Song of Solomon 2:15 says, "just us the little foxes, which spoil the vines: so our vines have tender grapes." Foxes sometime in search of food would enter into the grape orchards and devour the grapes and spoil the crop. However, the little foxes were too small to reach the grape bunches so they would chew on the vines and it would kill the whole vine. Instead of the farmer just losing his crop, he would lose his vine which was more disastrous. Spiritually some things we do or allow that we might think are little or insignificant can also be disastrous for us. Most people do not realize how the devil uses our thoughts to begin his work of evil in our lives. As with the little foxes did to the vines so it is with our thoughts. A thought is only an idea but if it is dwelt upon long enough it becomes an action. On the positive side this can produce much good. It is not sinful to have an evil thought as this is the way that we are all tempted by the devil. However, the sin comes into play when we dwell on the evil thought (or any thought that is against the Word of God). As that thought takes root in our heart (our spirit) it will eventually bear its deadly fruit. Galatians 5:19-25: "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.".

In these verses we see a list called the works of the flesh for this reason we need to becarefull how we think for our life is shaped by our thoughts as well God knows our thoughts and has a plan for us and give us the right to choose His way or our own whhich leads to death.

Gal 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.

What kind of "little seeds" are you planting? Those little things are capable of bringing forth big harvests.

There is much wisdom in what you have shared.  I have found this to occur many days and should be grasping the principle better by now but am still struggling.

I am reminded of David in the psalms. ( I think it is the 19th but am not sure as I don't have my bible handy ).

Anyhow , David concludes the Psalm with the words :

" Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight , O Lord , my strength and my redeemer."

If we would only pray this prayed often and with sincerity I believe that we would have greater peace and be more effective in influencing others than we have ever dreamed possible.

God bless
