Treasure...where is yours?

Today I read an interesting article about sunken treasure, remnants of a shipwreck, recently discovered off the coast of Africa. The coins, copper, ivory tusks and pieces of the shipwreck are over 500 years old.

Archaeologist, Dieter Noli, who is studying some fragments of the ship as well, noted that evidence of lead patching strips show the ship was old when it went down. The wood that the ship was constructed of was worm eaten and weakened and as well. Because of the poor… Continue

back in college and terrified

College is a scary, terrifying, and wonderful place. I thank God for allowing me to go back to college. To be what he blessed my talents to be. College is exciting, challenging, competitive, and wonderous all at the same time. I pray that i can get through each day with God. As i struggle with learning new things. I pray for God to allow me to understand all the updated material. I also pray that i can get through to some of the kids and at 18- 20 they are kids to me. That drinking, drunks, sex… Continue

The Winds of Change

Things are always changing. Sometimes it is fun and exciting, but sometimes it is painful and maybe a little scary. My life is going through some major changes right now.. I'm not sure what the future holds but I know that God is leading and that He has a purpose. If I take my eyes off of Him my circumstances look daunting, but with my eyes securely set on Him it is easy, just to allow the Wind to blow me where it will. But I am afraid, this is the first time I've had so much to "lose?". In the… Continue

Kept Women...

I got this in an e-mail today, it really gave me a boost...a nice way to start my day...

Are you a Kept woman?

You see, there were a few times when I thought I would lose my mind,

but GOD kept me sane. (Isa. 26:3)

There were times when I thought I could go no longer,

but the LORD kept me moving. (Gen 28:15)

At times, I've wanted to lash out at those whom I felt had done me wrong,

but the LORD kept my mouth shut. (Psa.… Continue

Infertility - one year on

Infertility - 1 Year on

I sit here at the foot of the Cross crying out to God

Lord, You see the hurt and the pain of watching friends and family getting pregnant and having children

Being pleased for them, congratulating them but wondering when I'll be among them

Lord, You see the look in Malcolm's eyes when he holds a child in his arms

You know how we would love and care for any child we are blessed with

We will feed them, clothe them and provide all they… Continue

A simple prayer

Father God, release in every believer the confidence to live outside of themselves. To live as you live in everyone of us. Set out hearts on fire with blazing passion to spread the Truth to every nation and every tongue. Make yourself known to this generation with signs and wonders and awesome deeds. May our whole heart be fully convinced in the life that you led. May we follow in your steps even to death. Amen.

All That I Need Is In Him

You are born helpless and needy, being totally dependent on nurturance from others. In fact, God has created you with a deep need that can never be satisfied until you turn to Him. One of His Names is El Shaddai, which means: God, the All-Sufficient One.

The Lord woke me up today with a jolt. Regardless of how well you know the Word and want to obey it, it’s not always easy to follow through, isn’t it? What do you do when the rent is due and you have nothing coming in, or when your… Continue

Miracles still do happen!!

This morning I would like to share with each one of you, firsthand experience of a miracle to me!!

As a single mom, with only a small income, we have to plan well ahead (if you can plan ahead with a small income). On Sunday I told the children that we can only attend one service due to the fact that I know that my car is nearly empty.

Our church is having prayer meetings in the waiting time for ascension day and pentecost ahead. We couldn't attend one of these meetings yet, well… Continue

Genesis 1:1

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

What a way to start off a series about the most powerful verses in the Bible, huh? We sure didn't have to look very far! I am not posting these verses in any semblance of order; I just found it appropriate to start at the beginning. This verse is very dear to me because it debunks several major theological and scientific questions right off the bat. Since we believe the Bible to be God's perfect word and His absolute truth, we… Continue

The Rest Of The Story

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'

'If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything.'

One Nation Under God

PAUL HARVEY'S ON AIR PRAYER

'Heavenly Father, we… Continue

Jesus Can Heal us From Anger - Luke 13:10-13,16

In this scripture, Luke tells us of a woman who had been crippled for 18 years. Satan had been keeping her in “bondage” and because of this, she had been unable to stand up straight. But Jesus freed her… He healed her.Bible Reading

Perhaps this woman had held on to deep resentment and bitterness towards someone for a long, long time. Satan could have been telling her over the years that she should not forgive someone that hurt her. He could have told her that she was fully justified… Continue

Blog Numero Dix: I'm not Selfish

...I'm self-preservative...

That's what I use to tell my brother when he accused me of selfishness. Now I'm thinking, "hey he might have had a point there". Maybe I'm selfish, or at least self-centered. (whatever the difference may be) I've been so wrapped up in my own emotions, my own feelings lately that I seem to have forgotten, " dudette, there are people around you"

I don't think God wants me to forget though, I've been finding myself in these weird situations lately, on… Continue

Bad Day Turned Good

My day started bad. I woke with a headache and a stomach ache. I wasnt going to go to church but something told me i should. No one else wanted to go to church so i was going by myself. So i got ready and when i got in the car, it wouldnt start. My husband tried everything he could but still nothing happened. My First Entry

It is so amazing to be part of a community of believers who REALLY want to serve God with their lives. I have been in so many churches where people just go through the motions because that's what they were taught to do without the message of the gospel touching their lives deeply. As followers of Christ we should never feel comfortable just going about our day to day existence without reaching out to help the hurting and the lost. Apathy is the worst enemy of the good news, and I myself am so… Continue

Answered Prayer, by: Unknown Confederate Soldier

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve,

I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey . . .

I asked for health, that I might do greater things,

I was given infirmity, that I might do better things . . .

I asked for riches, that I might be happy,

I was given poverty, that I might be wise . . .

I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men,

I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God . . .

I asked for all things, that I… Continue

Spirtual healing or stumbling block?

iI have a question but no answer. In the twenty years since I became a born again christian... there were doubts...the Lord prepared the way and every need was supplied whether knowledge or otherwise. But the doubts always resulted in answers to questions which had taken root in my mind....and with an understanding of things such death, hell and true love of God there was a daily joy and peace even in the mist of suffering. I was the last child of a very large family and I am the only one left.… Continue

HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN

DEAR FRIEND, MAN BORN WITH INHERITED SIN . AT BIRTH MAN IS UNCLEAN IN GOD'S SIGHT ( JOB 14:1, 25: 4 ) MAN CONCEIVED AND SHAPEN IN INIQUITY( PSALM 51: 5) . MAN POSSESSES AN INWARD BENT TO EVIL. ( PSALM 58:3 )BY NATURE MAN IS SINFUL. ( EPH. 2:3 ). MAN'S IMAGINATIONS ARE EVIL FROM HIS YOUTH. ( GEN. 8:21 ). HUMANITY SINFUL BY BIRTH( ROMANS 5:12 ) SO I CAN SAY BY BIRTH NOBODY IS CHRISTIAN. ALL HAVE SIN AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD. SO NOW HOW TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN ? FOR THIS… Continue

Tea with Lori.

God took Lori's spirit home yesterday at 7:40 p.m. Over a month ago she had invited me over to tea, which was a typical thing...we'd see each other or talk on the phone and talk about just having a nice visit, over a cup of tea. Sadly, her health complications became worse and although we did see each other, we never got to have our tea party.

Yesterday afternoon, I read her "care page" update, her husband said she had lapsed into a coma and was near the end. I prayed for her and for… Continue
