Learning God's truth about Holiness

The purpose of learning God's truth about Holiness is see what God says about gaming that involves inapprotiate action such as killing.

When I was reading in 2 Corinthians 6. I found what means to be holy as like our Lord Jesus. As I came to verse 12, it tells us to not join unbelievers or avoid to become like them. The reason we suppose to not be "unequally yoked together" is because righteous do not fellowship with lawlessness. "And what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14) We can't fit together. In verse 16, our bodies is the temple of the Living God. The King of the Universe living inside us! He said, "I will dwell in them and walk among them" (2 Corinthians 6:16) As we do our daily activies, He is there and wanting to help us as a father would help a young child's first steps. However, we do live in a world full of sin. God is holy. We must not let our Father grieve by choosing to see a man ending someone's life. God does not want to see people who created kill each other. It is like two clay pots on a shelf. The Potter saw one of the clay pot push another clay pot, and the fallen clay pot shatters into pieces. One of His beloved clay piece is destroyed because another of His creation has destroyed what He loved. How can God enjoy seeing His creation being destroyed?

When we are His Children, and God is our Father, we must be alike. One of God's characteristics is Holiness. If we would be His children, we must reflect on God's holiness. If we decided to follow the worldly desires, It is like a cat that has newborn puppie or a dog has a kitten. Our identity would become distorted, and confused. We wouldn't know who we would be.

As in verse 17, our Father tells us to "be seperate" from the world around us. He commands us to not be involve what is unclean as He said "Do not touch whats unclean and I will recieve you". He wants to avoid impure things so we enjoy our Father's presence! He wants Himself revealed as we cast away anythings that does not point to Him.

Verse 18, " I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty". He says that He promises that we will be taken care of as a father would do provide protection. As sin comes by, we have a choice to pull away from God's warm embrace into seductive trap or stay firmly in His arms. This is one of the reasons why we are so dearly loved by God that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to make us righteous and be His forever!

When we begin to cast down our impure ways, and become like Him, surely, the world will be able to see Jesus Christ!

I believe that God wants our full attention because He wants to give us what we need. Himself! If we begin to invest our time in something that will not point to Him, we would ignore His love that He longs to give!

"Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and the spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God" 2 Corinthians 7:1
