Hello Elijah fans,
I did a study on the prayers of Elijah, I wanted to see how he prayed. He had such power when he prayed. God listened and answered his prayers. It seems like when he asked God in prayer, God would listen and answer his prayers. That is important, because in the word of God it says a rightous persons prayers will be " powerful and effective."
In 1 Kings 17:1-6 it said that Elijah said to Ahab, "As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be…

I started this blog for any one interested in the study of the Bible. I myself did a study on Elijah and thought it was interesting how God worked in his life. The meaning of his name is the Lord is my God. I feel the same way too, the Lord is my God.
Elijah was a Tishbite he emerged as if from nowhere, to become Israel's greatest miracle-worker since Moses. This great prophet from the northern kingdom of Israel was empowered by God to battle the forces of Baal, the Canaanite god of storm,…

It was like a violent storm had gone through leaving destruction in its wake. But early this Sunday morning all is quiet -- the lull after the storm -- or so it seems to Mary. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me tell you the story.
First, there is Jesus, the leader and prophet from Galilee. When his popularity was at its apex in Jerusalem just the week before, many had considered him the Messiah. But on Friday, his enemies had succeeded executing him by…

The 7 Last Words of Jesus Christ
on the Cross
Introduction
A survey of 7,000 people in 6 countries was conducted by the “Research International”. They were seeking to identify the most recognized symbols in the world today. They found that the Shell Oil logo, the Mercedes badge, and the five Olympic rings were recognized far more widely than the Christian Cross. McDonald’s golden arches and Shell’s glowing yellow shell were recognized by 84% of those…

(Tara Hernandez) :
I wanted to share my story, as I am a cancer survivor. I was diagnosed at about 6 months old and I was treated at Yale New Haven Hospital's Children Center. I've been listening to the Radiothon on WPLR (99.1) for the Tommy fund, and I have to say… it's the…

Hello every one!!! Did you ever ask the above question?.... Well the verse tell us that Jesus is humble and lowly ... but there is more than that for the answer which I found in my study Bible and I want to share with you .... hope it will bless you ....
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
Lowly and riding on the donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.
I will cut off the chariot from… Continue

GETTING RID OF THE HEAVY BURDENS
There are times in our lives when we come to the end of our rope. We exhaust every option we know, we have prayed, we have sought counsel, we have done our home work, we have gone the extra mile, etc. We have done all we can do and still we have to deal with a burden that seeks to crush us.
What do we do when we have been unemployed for months with no job in sight?
What do we do when no…

John 4:1-6.
Test the Spirits
1.Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2.This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
3b.ut every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you…

Why seek ye the Living among the Dead?
The Son of man, The Son of God, all in one, never separated, never to die again. This is the Lord Jesus Christ.
In the troublesome times many are asking, “Will Jesus Return?” This is also in the prophecies of the scripture. We, as Christian, know that Jesus will return, but the multitudes are asking for proof. We have no proof except our faith in God and His word. Is it so hard to believe that Jesus will return? Is it so hard to…

My Abusive "Christian" Marriage
I couldn't believe this was my reality. And I couldn't see a way out.
Gwyneth Nelson | posted 2/02/2009
"Did Daddy do that?" my daughter asked. Lying on the floor in the doorway of her room, I was stunned as I realized my daughter had just witnessed undeniable physical abuse. Tom's* anger had escalated into unrestrained rage, and he'd thrown me into our daughter's bedroom. Con-fused, I began to question my situation: Was I really…

“It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” (Psalm 118:8, Amp)
The next verse is similar:
“It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” (v.9)
Say, isn’t that what the Bible is all about? Isn’t it so we will come to know our Maker and put our trust in the One who made us? Besides, He wrote the manual! He knows us, and He knows what is best for…

Do you care enough to do something about it?
Charles Haddon Spurgeon aka "The Prince of Preachers"
wrote the following statements:
"I would sooner bring one sinner to Jesus Christ than unpick all the mysteries of the divine Word, for salvation is the one thing we are to live for."
"If…

Devotional of the Week
Have you ever lied?
1. Yes
If you said this, you can repent and save yourself from your sins.
2. No
This is sort of good, except: you're probably lying right now. So don't say no!
God doesn't want us to lie. When Abraham lied to pharao, God was mad at him. God doesn't like what we do, but still likes us, even though we sin.
"Listen, for I have worthy things to… Continue

Shalom,
Pleasing God..............
There was an old man, a boy and a donkey. They were going to town and they decided that the boy should ride. As they went along they passed by some people who thought that it was a shame for the boy to ride and the old man to walk. The old man and boy decided that maybe the critics were right so they changed positions.
Later, they passed some more people who thought that it was a real shame for an old man to ride and make such a small boy…
