THE LORD'S WEEKEND DEVOTIONAL, SETTLING OUR SALVATION

Settling Our Salvation:

Perhaps you're familiar with the opening words of Fanny Crosby's hymn Blessed Assurance:
"Blessed assurance, JESUS is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of GOD, born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long; this is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long."

It's a powerful tune because it points to a powerful truth-salvation through JESUS CHRIST.

I believe that when she wrote this song she was certain when it came to the subject of salvation.
In other words, she knew she was saved.

Now let me pose this question to you:
Do you know that you're saved?
I hope you have your own sense of blessed assurance and you're able to answer yes.

If you can't and you're wondering how you can be absolutely certain about your salvation in JESUS CHRIST, look at what the Word of GOD declares in the Bible:

The word for know that is used in this verse above is a comprehensive one.
It means "to be aware, to see, and to perceive."

GOD could have kept us guessing on this one, but instead, GOD wants us to know we're saved.

I believe GOD did this because if we were insecure about our salvation, it would warp our walk with Him.

GOD knows that without the salvation issue settled in our hearts, we would be tempted to view our time of Bible study, fellowship, prayer, and worship as ways of earning our salvation rather than the natural byproducts that flow from a life that's been changed by JESUS CHRIST.

Salvation is something to be known. And the better we know it, the better we can live out the basics of our faith and trust in JESUS CHRIST.

AMEN

If you are in need of prayer, you can send your prayer requests to INTERNET MISSIONARY Or if you're on myspace you can send your prayer requests to Soul Winner 4 JESUS CHRIST and you will be prayed for.

I put together and post this devotional as the Holy Spirit leads me and, All the glory goes to GOD the Father of our LORD JESUS CHRIST for this devotional!

I would rather live my life as if there is a GOD and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

With all my love to all of you this weekend.

INTERNET MISSIONARY,

I LOVE YOU ALL!
