Jesus said................if ....... you love me......... YOU WILL OBEY MY COMMANDMENTS.
Amen to that!!!!!!!

1 Jn 5:1-5

5 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. NIV

The one who has faith in Him has overcome the world.

Amen sis Michelle
Alan my brother,

You stay away for too long. Great to have you here.

How do we recognize true love?

True love is sacrificial; it does not seek after self, but delights in servicing others.
I certainly believe there are false chistians. A bunch of them were recently on the news picketing and telling people the 'bad news' of God....how God Hates queers etc. I think anyone who goes around preaching that God is a god of hatred in any form is a false christian. It exists even in the church.....most all of us have experienced condemnations in the very church that should be uplifting us in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
These people are not Christians, they are fakes, but they are not Christians,

Matthew 7:15-20 (KJV)
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Galatians 6:7-8 (KJV)
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

They will indeed reap their just reward.

Well said , my friend. " These people are not Christians , they are fakes , but they are not Christians. "

Many atrocities have been committed ' in the name of Christ ' , but this does not mean that the Lord is within a million miles of theses actions. ( figuratively speaking of course , since we know that God is omnipresent)

Jesus speaks of many calling Him Lord , but yet they don't do His will. In the end He will simply say " depart from Me , you workers of iniquity. I never knew you."

I realize that the term "false Christian ' is used to describe people who profess to be followers of Christ but are in practice anything but Christ like ; I cannot bring myself ( a personal conviction only ) to even use the term Christian to describe them. I just feel ( again a personal conviction ) that to even include the precious name of Christ in describing them is to lessen the deep regard we should have for Him.

Just my opinions. God bless you my friend.
My wife’s father was a Baptist preacher at one time: many years ago, I know their love for God was genuine; with good moral standards and biblical principles, [I found this out when we started dating ; especially when I brought her home 1 or 2 minutes after a preset curfew LOL] and endeavoring to live a righteous life style;

I know the denomination they belonged to does not condone the actions that the [so called Baptist Church] has been demonstrating during an American Soldiers funeral; as shown on TV news lately. Calling them names, saying that God hates them and certain other people with lifestyles unlike their own, saying they are going to hell etc.
Surely they are reading a different bible than I.

So what I was wondering how that denomination [Baptist] feels about them claiming to be Baptist and being “Christians” and taking part in such an atrocious display of disrespect for the ones that are sacrificing their lives so these people have the freedom to demonstrate as they do.?

Do you think they could do this in another Country; maybe one that we might think of as being heathen? I doubt it!!!
And we would have the audacity to call them heathen?

These are the ones that some are calling “false Christians” when indeed they are not. They are false but not Christians!

I, being as you, would not dare associate them with my Lord and Savor Jesus Christ. I can not for the life of me even think that Jesus would have anything to do with such activities.

Clouds without rain, they are!
Joe

Spot on!

Anytime a person deviates from the Word, he is danger of being a false Christian or being a false teacher. Why do they deviate? Because they can't face doing what God demands of them.

Many pastors and teachers are guilty of the same thing...putting their own twist to particular verses or lessons in the Bible. Perhaps they are trying to be interesting, or trying to explain a lesson, but in their explanation, they hit outside to scope of the verses. Others hear and they take it as gospel.

Others can't take a particular teaching and apply it without changing it in a manner that will suit them. They can't bear to hear what God has to say about a particular situation because it isn't what they want to practice.

I have a friend who has a very poor relationship with her husband. She asked my advice. I told her what God says about submitting to her own husband. She responded, "he's not saved". What if he asks me to do something that against the law.
(Logically, this won't happen most times.) This lady has refused to obey two laws of God.
#1. Don't be unequally yoked with nonbelievers.
# 2. Submit yourself to your own husband.

What she is saying to me is that my way is better than God's Way.

Every time she displays this attitude about her husband, and it is frequently, she is teaching some other woman her philosophy.
The same can be said of every other person that doesn't obey what the Word says. They are teaching that there is a way around what God says.

Preaching and teaching carries an awesome responsibility with it. Whenever we speak, we are in danger of leaving a false impression.

In the same manner we need to be mindful of what we listen to. Every person that speaks the Word of God to instruct another, and every person that listens to it, needs to be mindful of what they teaching and absorbing.
Excellent remider sis. Blessings to you beloved.
Thank you for this Rita ,these are very important words for anyone who is taking on the responsibility of explaining the Truths of the bible ,I believe there are many who are trying to run before they finish learning how to walk ,and the problem with this is that they may not only take themselves down ,but others with them ,who are not far enough along in their walk to discern ,who and who not to listen to. Rev 22 :18,19 ....18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophesy of this book,if any man shall add unto these things,God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: .....19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things that are written in this book. Blessings from down under ....Andrew.
