What's up Clark-

Not sure if I truly understand your question but the bible does say that if a brother has something against us, we should leave our offering on the altar and go reconcile and then to come back and our prayers will be heard.

For those who are married the bible admonishes the husband to treat his wife right or his prayers would be hinder.

James says that we do not have, because we may fall into being a double minded person, who waivers on his request. James goes on to say also that, "You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. James 4

We also have the following story in the book of Daniel:

10 Suddenly, a hand touched me, which made me tremble on my knees and on the palms of my hands. 11 And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” While he was speaking this word to me, I stood trembling.
12 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.

So we can see that there are demonic forces always working, even against the responses to our prayers.

Hope I understood your question correctly.

Be blessed and a blessing
David Velasquez. said it right.
There are two main things that hinders or comes against our prayers.
Actually there are a number of things that can hinder your prayers from being answered. Or rather your desires coming to pass.
So just to name a few of the main ones, would be.

#1. Not knowing who you are in Christ, therefore not knowing your privileges as a Child of God, or as a “New Creation” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
Not knowing you can come “BOLDLY” to the throne of Grace. Heb.4:16

#2. Doubt,
Matthew 21:21 (KJV)
21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
Mark 11:23-24 (KJV)
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

I was going to say “A wavering faith” as in James 1:5-6, but that would be synonymous with #2. [To explain], when we lay hands on someone to pray for them, and we don’t know if it is God’s will for them to be healed; or we don’t know what we should pray for (as we aught) we will have a wavering faith, and He says “let not that man think he shall receive anything “of “ the Lord” Please note “OF ” (Not from) The one is indicating a “completed or finished” work at the cross; the other is as John’s Baptism; in expectation.
In other words they don’t see the work of the Cross as a completed work.
“Salvation” has been provided, but we have a part to play in this as well; we must accept it as a free gift of God.
Blessings to all
Joe
sorry joe words not my strong point that what you wrote is dead on as we say in N.Ireland but trying to express also the troubles on earth GOD has to go through for his will to be done . hope your well GOD bless
sorry david not very clear question but your right what you say and like your thinking in all i read but trying to show or get you thinking off troubles on earth and things and man that do not do GOD's will . hope your well brother
Clark i agree with David that your question is not really clear. But i will add that sin can also come against our prayers.

ISAIAH 59 vrs 1- 2

1 Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.
2 But your iniquities have seperated you from your God, your sins have hidden his face from you so that he will not hear you.

2 CHRONICLES 7 VRS 14 says "If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will i hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land". God bless you.
linda agree with what you are saying i was thinking what comes against the will of GOD heavenly battles off which daniel was told about and the way man does his own thing me included . Not saying GOD does not get his way it must sadden him the ones who do not always do his will, not to mention those who destroy, steal and cause pain . GOD bless you Linda
