please know you and your father are in my prayers. my father died of lung cancer a few years back. he asked the Lord to be his savior one week before he died. praise GOD for this. i share this time of pain with you and please know that our Lord will see you through it. i thought for a while before writing and finally came to John 3:16 for the verse of comfort. the last part of the verse 'shall not perish but have eternal life' - this brings me so much peace knowing that because we know Him we all will be together eternally! we will only be apart for a moment then together again with our Lord. i hope this helps in some little way. God Bless you all and give your dad a big hugg for me.
These are some of my favorites and I hope they help

Psa 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

This is like a door that we must all walk through to a new world to be forever with the one who first loved us

1Jn 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

You all will be in our prayers May God bless and keep you in perfect peace

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
One of the more difficult times of my life was being at the bedside of my Mother as she lay waiting for the Lord to end her suffering knowing that she was soon to be absent from her body and present with the Lord.

That was nine years ago and still there atre times when I want to pick up the telephone cand call her. What has given me comfort is knowing whee she is even though I would like to talk to her one more time.

There are days when I cry out to the Lord, “I need to talk to my Momma!”

However, the Holy Spirit convicts me at such times that her work in this life was completed and no one leaves this life without God's permission and the Lord had determined that it was time for her to come home.

No, this does not stop me from missing her, but it gives me comfort knowing that she had finsihed her course and her work in this life was complete.

I strive now to use her absence from this life as a motivational tool to become more complete in Christ so that one day she with all of Heaven may hear the Lord say to me,”Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into thy rest”.

My prayers go out on your behalf that the Lord may ease your sorrow and be with you each step of the way. I pray the the Lord will let you, your family, and especially your Father know that He is there each step of the way.

Finally, all healing does not mean that we shall live forever in this life. It is a mystery that is difficult to understand in this life, but may the Lord give you strength and understanding that will enable you to endure this most difficult time.

I realize that I have not given any scripture passages, but I hope this helps in some small way!
hai ginny,

I am so sorry to know about your dad's situation. I know it is a very difficult time for you and your family. But remember our God is our protector, he will guide you and your family in the way you should go. Thank God for providing you with a Good dad, he has given you birth and brought you up to this stage, ask your dad to share his good memories that he had during all this years and especially ask him How God helped him through all this problems. Read the Bible everyday to him because that is the best comforting book in the world. Bible is the only book in the world to which you have answers for all topics that we encounter in our life, so use it whenever you can.

Tell your dad that God knew him even before he was born. Even before he considered God as his father God considered him as his son. He was there with him from the very first day, in all his life and also he is going to be with him. Ask your dad to pray for forgiveness and for any sins that he has not confessed, there is still time for miracles to happen, nothing happens to us without God's permission even it may be sickness or whatever it may be. When jesus was crucified there was two people along with jesus to be crucified, one on the left and one on the right. One person cursed God and said if you are God save yourself and us and come down from the cross but on the other hand one said, lord i am here because of what i have did, but you have done nothing and he said lord remember me when you come to your KIngdom. jesus said today you will be with me in paradise, see God's forgiveness changed a person in fractions, so wait on the lord patiently, let him work according to his plan. I have enclosed some scriptures which was sent to me by a friend so i thought it woud be useful for you and your dad. Dear sister be of cheer God loves you and we here on this network loves you. God bless.

1) God's forgivenees is for all that call upon His name. This calling includes repentance that leads to salvation.

RO 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
RO 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
RO 10:11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
RO 10:12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,
RO 10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

2CO 7:9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us.
2CO 7:10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

2) Sin entered the world through man's disobedience. God allows both the good and bad to exist together.

RO 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned--

MT 13:24 Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.
MT 13:25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.
MT 13:26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
MT 13:27 "The owner's servants came to him and said, `Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'
MT 13:28 " `An enemy did this,' he replied. "The servants asked him, `Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
MT 13:29 " `No,' he answered, `because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them.
MT 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.' "

3) God's Word teaches us that we will face trials and persecution.

1TH 3:2 We sent Timothy, who is our brother and God's fellow worker in spreading the gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you in your faith,
1TH 3:3 so that no one would be unsettled by these trials. You know quite well that we were destined for them.
1TH 3:4 In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that we would be persecuted. And it turned out that way, as you well know.

1PE 4:12 Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.

4) His Word also teaches us that we will overcome and be rescued.

2PE 2:9 if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from trials and to hold the unrighteous for the day of judgment, while continuing their punishment.
