Reaching others for Christ. Especially concerned that those who profess to be Christians represent Christ as He is not as they desire Him to be.

Challenging each of us to strive in living so that no matter what the situation, we reflect the presence of the Lord in our lives.
My story with God
Minister for 30 years. Have been blessed to overcome cancer.
Healed of alcoholism by the Lord.
According to others, I am a "preacher's preacher" and a "prayer warrior".
To me, I am simply a follower of Christ convicted of the imperative need to spread the Gospel that He may change lives.
Other stuff about me:
Christian writer/author. Have been published (Higher Than The Ceiling-a devotional book on prayer) and also Bible study lessons, magazine articles.

Currently striving to get ministry going (Jonah Ministries)
ABOUT SIMON:

Called a “Preachers’ Preacher” and a “prayer warrior” it has been said that the Lord has given this preacher a unique ability to expound upon difficult subjects in a manner that makes it seem as though the topic is not difficult at all.

Simon Jonah Thomas has been an ordained minister for nearly thirty years and during that time has served as an associate minister, Director of Midweek Prayer Services, Evangelist, Pastor of Children’s Church, hospital Chaplain, and is a Christian writer who has been published by Decision magazine as well as having written a series of Bible Study lessons for Union Gospel Press. Additionally, he is the author of a book on prayer titled Higher Than The Ceiling published by Green Pastures Press.

His focus is centered upon the fact that too many Christians are becoming politically correct in addressing society’s ills and along the way many are presenting Christ in a “Santa Claus” fashion throwing aside the reality of Romans 12:1-2.

Because of this Christians are rapidly becoming the greatest reason individuals are turning to other religions or are getting embroiled in cultic type sects and ministries.

His evangelistic style is to present the Gospel of Christ in a compassionate manner that challenges every individual to establish a closer more meaningful walk with the Lord thus becoming valuable soldiers in the battle against the corrupt “anything goes” or “fake it till you make it” mindset satan is leading within our society.

Political Christians

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 9:12am 0 Comments

Once again a politician has made a statement that gives credence to the belief that it is time for those who profess to be Christians too seriously consider whether their involvement in politics is detrimental to the cause of Christ.

Granted, being a Christian does not render any of us as being somehow spiritually deficient because we vote or have opinions concerning the direction and leadership of our villages, towns, and cities. Naturally then on a larger scale we should be… Continue

Lie-a-ticians

Posted on September 27, 2010 at 9:04am 0 Comments

If recent conversations with individuals are a true indicator of what is going on locally and nationally then contrary to what Democrats, Republicans, and Tea Party members and candidates are saying there is not a groundswell in favor of any of them.

This would mean that the news media mainstream or otherwise is also getting it wrong. This fact should not surprise anyone because over the past few years it appears that the news media is more interested in creating news rather than… Continue

It's Not Politics, It's Evil

Posted on September 10, 2010 at 2:07am 0 Comments

The recent debacle concerning Shirley Sherrod is a sad commentary on the state of politics within our country.

How low has our moral fiber shrunk to when individuals purposefully seek to destroy anyone with accusations they know beforehand are false and individuals rally to their defense. Add to that the feigned righteous indignation in support of these individuals by those who bemoan the fact that any one who dares suggest that not even politics can justify such malevolent… Continue

Hand In The Cookie Jar

Posted on January 25, 2010 at 11:57pm 0 Comments

A child may stand in the kitchen already having taken a bite of the cookie he just took from the cookie jar and thinking that his Mom may have heard or seen him suddenly blurts out, “Mom, may I have a cookie?”.

As though asking after the fact will somehow make right his action.

Many treat the Lord the same way.

Often having consulted with family and friends about a desire or decision that we have already set in motion, we decide to ask the Lord when the reality… Continue

INTRODUCTION

In Jeremiah 6:16 the prophet Jeremiah wrote;
This is what the Lord says; stand at the crossroads and look; Ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is and walk in it and you shall find rest for your souls.

It goes on to say that they would not walk in it and suffered the consequences.

I want to give you a few things to consider when you find yourself at those cross road moments of your life.

BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF WRONG CHOICES AT CROSSROAD MOMENTS

Adam and Eve- They disobeyed God and brought sin into the world.
Cain- He refused to do what was right and became the first murderer in history.
Lot- He chose to live in Sodom and his righteous soul was vexed.
King Saul- He continually disobeyed God and lost everything.
David- David made a wrong choice and became an adulterer, and a murderer.

BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF RIGHT CHOICES AT CROSSROAD MOMENTS

Noah- His obedience brought forth deliverance for him and his family from the flood.
Moses- His obedience brought deliverance to the people of God out of slavery.
Joseph- He made a choice not to compromise his moral convictions and God used him mightily.
Job- He refused to become bitter and trusted God through his great trial
David- David made some good choices at his crossroad moments, but also made some bad ones.

The choices we make at the crossroad moments of our live will determine the destiny of our lives.

EXAMPLES OF CROSSROAD MOMENTS
Illness in our own lives or a family member
Death of a close relative
Loosing a Job
Children who go astray
Break up of a marriage
Having to relocate
Having a pastor retire at your church

No matter what has brought you to your cross road today your choices at the crossroad will determine your destiny

At my own crossroad moments that I have had to face this last year I have with Gods grace discovered some things that I want to share with you that might help you when you too face these times of decision.

TAKE THE MORAL HIGH ROAD

Own up to your wrong doing; be honest, instead of blaming others for your circumstances.

Maybe you are not responsible for what has brought you to this crossroad and you don’t even want to be there,

But God demands that we walk in the light as He is in the light and do what is right.

GET RID OF ANGER

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, quarreling, and slander be put away from you, along with all hatred. (Ephesians.4:31)

Don’t be like the rattlesnake that gets so mad he ends up biting himself.

When we face crossroads they can be very confusing times, holding on to anger only complicates things.

Holding on to anger lead to self pity which is Satan’s favorite tool to destroy us with.

IT IS A MIRACLE OF GRACE TO WALK IN FORGIVENESS.

In the natural it is impossible to forgive sometimes; but God pours His love into our heart and gives us the grace to forgive. (Romans 5:5)

At your crossroad you will never choose the right road without forgiveness.

Choose to be a lover of people a man who forgives others as he has been forgiven and you will be on the right path

DON'T LIVE IN A DEFENCIVE MODE

The word says that mans judgments are trivial.
It matters more what God knows about you than what man thinks about you. We must live in obedience to the Lord no matter what.

ONLY THROUGH A VITAL PASSIONATE RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD CAN WE KNOW FOR SURE THAT WE ARE ON THE RIGHT ROAD.

The first step might be that we come to know the Lord at the crossroad.

Crossroads are Gods way of getting our attention.

Maybe you’re at a crossroad and you have no idea where to go from here because you don’t know Jesus.

THE CROSSROAD WILL CAUSE US TO STOP COMPROMISING.

Those things we compromise to keep, we eventually loose.

We have so many examples in scripture of what happens when someone compromise.

Compromising could very well be what has brought you to your crossroad today.

REMEMBER GOD IS NOT AS INTERESTED IN THE DESTINATION AS MUCH AS HE IS WITH THE JOURNEY.

The process is where GOD is working.

Don’t get so caught up in the destination.

God is a eternal God, He sees our yesterdays and our tomorrows as He sees our today's.

YOU ARE NOT ALONE AT YOUR CROSSROAD MOMENT

Crossroad moments can be some of the hardest times we will ever face in our lives.

1.He will never leave us or forsake us in our time of need.
2.Take your time and seek the Lord, find His grace and His help in your time of need.
3. He is a faithful God. He will not forsake us.
4.The Lord will embrace us and help us step by step to take the right road.

DON'T STAND ALONE AT YOUR CROSSROAD MOMENTS

We need one another and will find God’s help in our times of decision from one another. Let this be our motto;

“I will stand no more alone”

Conclusion

Lead us to Dream again; Brian Doerksen
Here we stand
At a crossroads again
Like you said
In time the seasons change
Looking back
We recall the blessing and the pain
But now we turn our hearts toward
What is still to come
We want to dream again
Lead us Lord
Into a life of fruitfulness
Prepare our hearts to risk again
As we trust
Taking simple steps of obedience we know
That you will lead us Lord
