All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I have endured all sorts and have kept holding on to him, but this time it is way too much. I am here asking for prayers and support.

The question I am battling with is, if life is much of a struggle, much of endurance, everyday waking up to new challenges and battles why then strive so much to live? What's there to live for? I don't know maybe someone can enlighten me on this. I have all my life worked towards good and done good, served, sometimes if not most of times to a point of my very own predicament... Where is God?

He is with you Mandisa, right now, right here.  Do not quit, you've got the King of Kings at your side, the Lord of Lords, He will never fail you, no matter what you experience....even in the  most dire of circumstances.  I don't have any knowledge of what your circumstances may be, but I do know one thing, He is with you.

I am sending prayers up for you Mandisa.  Hang on tight, sometimes its a white knuckled ride, but you will prevail no matter what.  The chief end of man is to Glorify the LORD.  Cling to Him and you will sail along on the rocky seas with faith.  This is the time that your faith will go to work, even at the end of the day, no matter what happens.

Stand Your Truth my sweet sister...

Hello dear,

You may have struggled a lot. But don't ever give up on Him. Don't ask where is God. Because if you ask this question, it shows that you don't believe Him that He exist. Believe Him and go on. One day He will end all your struggles. Just go on. Just wait for that one day with all your believes that He is real. You know at the end of the tunnel you will find the light. And Lord is our light. There's no use of light if there's no darkness and these struggles are just a test of your faithfulness ,patience, and your love for Your God. Just wait and believe that He is by your side in every struggle. And He is the only reason for your endurance and you strength that you could overcome all your struggles. Just kick out all your struggles. God is by your side everyday. Love God and trust Him. Love You God. Amen..
Dear all,

Thanking you for your responses and still goin on good with him. Holding on to him, in doubts, fears and joyful moments.
We praise him!

Hi Mandisa,

I'm happy to hear that you are doing well.  Praise God!

When I saw your post, the verse that popped into my head was psalm 46:10.

[a]Cease striving and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the [b]nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” NASB

We do tend to 'strive' in our own strength...  Well, I do anyway.  It gives me peace that all my striving is self-induced.  God never asks that of me.  He simply asks us to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us, and He tells us that His burden is light.

In Isaiah 41:10 He tells us 'Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'

We're here to glorify Him, and live for Him.  Even though we constantly fall short, He still wants to include us in His work for His purposes.  He wants all people to come to the understanding of who He is.  Our Creator, Exemplar and Redeemer.  We all lose hope at some time or another.  Praise God that He has given us the Holy Spirit...He will never leave us or forsake us.

We do Praise Him!

Blessings, Carla

Amen!
Many prayers that you get some relief.
Hi there Mandisa. I am fairly new in the faith and so I’m speaking humbly and my response is coming from someone with limited understanding. But I have felt the very safe way so many times and I didn’t want to leave you hanging in a place of despair and doubt.

When I was little, my mother took me to church, as a child I believed with all my heart. I was hurt badly, again and again and in my teens I could see no evidence of God in my life and no reason for hope. In my 20s, I was miserable. I covered up my misery by lying and pretending I was someone I was not. I lied that I had not been through the things I had been through and had not done the terrible things I had done. But it only made me feel worse.

This past spring I gave birth to my 3rd child. The same people who made me feel worthless when I was young, made me feel worthless all over again. I had a terrible post partum depression and I had made the decision I did not want to live. But first, for the first time in a very long time, I said a prayer for the husband and children I was planning to leave behind.

In that moment I felt God reach down and wrap his arms around me. It might sound crazy, but I knew it was him. I didn’t hear any actual words, but I received what he was saying to me clear as day. “You are priceless to me! Live for me and for your family! Suffer for me and for them! To follow me will be hard. You will be persecuted. You will hurt. But will you do it for me?”

I said yes, and I have to say it again every day because I have demons and they attack me! Viciously! Sometimes it’s a mental attack, sometimes it’s a loss or a physical illness. But there is a plan, and you and I friend, we have to soldier through it.

Look at Jesus’s disciples and the apostle, Paul! How they were persecuted! How they were beaten and imprisoned and how they were even killed! And these were God’s most precious people.

Suffering is not a sign that God doesn’t care about you. All of God’s most beloved people have lived lives full of pain. God himself, when he sent down his son, lived a life of pain and dies a horrible death.

The hope is that we don’t suffer alone. And we don’t suffer pointlessly. God works through us, our pain can give us wisdom and strength that we can pass on to another! Our strength through suffering gives proof of God to others! Jesus taught us what love truly is - sacrifice. And sacrifice hurts! But there is a reward in the end if we keep the faith and soldier through! Every tear shall be wiped dry and there will be joy beyond anything we can imagine.

You may not know why you are suffering, but maybe something you say during your pain leads someone else to Christ. Maybe your perseverance of hope despite strife inspires one person to turn to the Lord. You may have saved 1000 souls already and you’d never know it.

I know God loves you. Those who have blessings on earth and live without strife are not the ones Jesus came for. The well don’t need a doctor and the righteous don’t need a savior. The broken do.

I would suggest reading Luke 16 verses 19-31 for an example and Philippians for encouragement.

I have not read the entire bible or even the New Testament yet, and I know there are many far wiser then me. This is just my very humble advice for what I have personally found to be true.

Sending my love and prayers and asking the Lord he reaches down and gives you the hug he gave me!
