We are told that to believe in Jesus is necessary unto salvation. Are we commanded to believe or do some just believe? Can we choose to believe? All who believe in Him are saved. Al l who do not believe are lost. Believing in Jesus, then, becomes what is necessary unto salvation. Is believing a command? 

Obviously, salvation is not obtained by following a command. Salvation is to all who believe. Those who believe know His voice. They follow Him. They follow Him because they believe. They don't follow Him to be saved. They follow Him because they belong to Him. 

He is the Shepherd. Those who believe follow Him. He is the door. Those who believe open that door. He is the water of life. Those who believe freely drink of that water. He is Lord. Those who believe bow to Him. He is the light of the world. Those who believe are not blinded but their eyes are opened and they can see. He is our strength. Those who believe will run and not be weary. They will walk and not faint. He is our Sabbath. Those who believe will find rest in Him. They will rest from all their labors. He is our peace. Those who believe will find peace. He is our joy. He is our righteousness. He is everything that is good in any of us. He is our salvation. To know Him is to love Him. I love Him.

The Perfect Bible Lesson

Are you perfect in God's eyes?:

Scripture is full of references to God’s perfection. We are told that “He is the Rock, His works are perfect, and all His ways are just” (Deuteronomy 32:4). We know that God is perfectly faithful (Isaiah 25:1). We acknowledge that “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights” (James 1:17).

But there’s a big difference between God’s perfection and our tendency toward perfectionism.

Perfectionism is the subtle belief that others will think more highly of us if we are the ideal wife, the expert employee or the model Christian. And yet this isn’t the perfection that Scripture urges us toward.
 

What Perfectionism Tells Us	What the Bible Tells Us
If we do everything well we will be loved	We are already loved While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
If we don’t make mistakes we will be happy	Our happiness lies in the Lord You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. (Isaiah 26:3)
If we’re good at what we do we will be successful and admired	The goal of life isn’t worldly success If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. (Matthew 19:21)
We are stronger and safer when we’re in control	God values our faith in Him more than our faith in ourselves My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

The Bible tells us that no matter how hard we try, we will never measure up on our own. It’s only through the sacrifice of Christ that we are made holy (Hebrews 10:14). God loves us perfectly—and only in accepting that love can we made complete.

Which commands of Christ Jesus are important and which are not necessary for our salvation?

All and I do mean ALL commands of our Lord are important. 

Which are not necessary for our salvation, it depends on what you mean by salvation?  If you mean being saved from the wrath to come, God's judgment, than only repentance accompanied with receiving and testifying with our mouth that He is Lord is enough for being born again, Saved, a new creation, regenerated. 

If you mean being saved from immaturity and sinfulness than we must abide in the fullness of the word, which is our milk and meat unto christian maturity.

Is being obedient to Christ Jesus a command or is it optional, not validating or invalidating our love for Him and salvation?

According to scripture it is a command that is NEVER optional, but God knowing men, has told us that we will sin and when we do we must repent, turn from that, and keep growing. 

Show me your faith without works and I will show you my faith with works our brother tells us in James. Works reveal a changed heart and also change the heart. As we do good works, the works that God has for us we are changed into his image. When we do it for His glory. In the road to maturity thought and even in the road of maturity we will fall short and it doesn't mean at all that our faith and LOVE in Christ and towards Christ is invalid.  We hate sin, but still fall short and long to die to sin. 

The greatest of these is Love, so how does the Bible clarify our love for Christ Jesus?

How do we express our love?

The word of God is clear that if we love him we obey his commands. 

Are any of these commands pertinent to our salvation or are they just a suggestion to us all  and we have the option to choose to follow His commands or not?

Again - it depends on what you mean by salvation, salvation from what? God's word are commands not suggestions, but we do have the God given ability to choose. God for the most allows us to have the quality of Christian life in accordance with our obedience to Him.
