All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Does any body here have a grown child who were not saved and or claimed to be atheist but are now saved? Sometimes ... most of the time , I worry so deeply for my unsaved loved ones. My fear gets the best of me and I sometimes reach out to Christians who speak of Christ' love and how Jesus set them free from a dangerous lifestyle in hopes of receiving some kind of encouraging hope. Sometimes after I do reach out to these folks I feel ridiculous for doing so. Are there anyone here who has kids that either hated God or didn't believe in God who are saved now? If so , if you don't mind..... will you share? Thank you for any replys

me...  You know my story, but you can read it again on my page.  my salvation seemed to be instantaneous, but in hindsight, I can see how God was drawing me to Himself.  I only have that hindsight because of where I now am.

Things aren't always as they seem...and God is always working to draw people to Himself.  There is a lot going on in the Spiritual realm that we cannot see and do not know anything about.

He knows the right timing for each one of us.  Don't fret...Keep praying.

Carla I just reread your testimony. It is awesome how God did  complete turn around on you. Thank you for reminding me of your testimony. Your mom and stepdad and their friend must be hard prayer people. I wish I had real people near me to pray with me. People don't understand when people rarely see family how hard it is when you need someone to talk /pray with. I am reminded of your anxiety and how God elped you with that. That is cool. I hope someday to be able to pray for my kids like your mom and step dad did for you. thanks again for reminding me of your story. I actually need to read it more often

Hey Janie,  It does help when we are surrounded by people we can fellowship with..it is very important.  We have to remember to continue to trust in Jesus though---more than in people.  We're here to walk with you, but we can't do the things for you that the Saviour can do.

God continues to answer prayer for my children....the most important thing they can learn is how much they need Him, and to continue to cry out to Him for help/strength/wisdom/peace/love for others etc....

My youngest son is currently going through a season where he is learning this most important lesson.  We have had some recent break-throughs with him...and I'm sitting here in awe of God Praising Him for all of the victories.

My mom is on facebook if you want to connect with her there..  She is a Prayer Warrior.  She would love to hear from you.

Blessings and Love in Christ, Carla

Thank you Carla, Its not that I want to trust in people more than God I just want fellowship.   With my hermit like life I am not around Christians to fellowship with. My family are all scattered out and well you know the rest about my fears. I do talk to myself a lot.  Not saying you but sometimes I read or seen people talking about how they want to go out into the hurting world and spread the love of the Lord. bUt then they snub hurting people standing right by them. In the past I have written local churchs and no replies. I don't give any sob story or no story what so ever. Just asked about their church. I don't mean to belly ache.. Im just lonely I guess.... envious of people with close by Christian friends.

Carla awesome to know you seeing God answering praters for your boys. =D

Thank you Carla, I do remember your story but I will reread it to refresh my mind.  I wish your mom was still here... I am hoping to also find storys of moms and dads sharing about their grown kids coming to the Lord. Hey its good to see you posting again.

I was in a similar situation, was an atheist and then came to Christ about 4 and a half years ago. I did do a full testimony but not sure where it is now. An overview is at http://www.evidence2hope.com/aboutme.htm

Thank you Grazer, I did read your story. I am glad you turned from your unbelief. I am curious about what kinds of signs from God did you see here and there ?  If you don't mind saying what they were... Thank you again.

I don't mind at all :)

I was hit by events that were very reflective of my past and they hit hard and at a time when I was getting closer to knowing God. The devil was scared at tried to stop me.  I got a job where a Christian worked who with his wife ran the alpha course I joined. During that a Christian moved into the house I was sharing. All 3 played a huge part in my coming to Christ and looking back, God needed me in Oxford to meet these Christians so I could come to him :)

Grazer, thank you for letting me know what you meant by signs here and there. I have been praying for people who love the Lord and put Him first to come in my childrens lives, I know if the Holy spirit isn't drawing them then they wont hear them. But I am hoping that since my son is moving once again he will have Christians this time. the last move there was an atheist and someone who believed not in God but some very different belief. I hate that he is moving way further away from me but I am hoping at the same time that this is Gods plan to help save my son. Thank you again..

Janie

The Lord had to move me over 1000 miles (literally) from my family and friends before He could get my attention and bring me to my senses.  Please believe me when I say that God knows exactly what He is doing and answers our prayers in some of the most unlikely (at least to us) ways. I firmly beieve that the reason for this is that He wants us to have absolutely no doubt as to who is to be given the honor and glory for what will happen.

God bless you and keep trusting Him my precious sister.

Charles, bless you for your thoughts regarding God in your life as may pertain to the struggles that have troubled Janie.

Most of us have trouble with the fact that we are ALL individuals, each a separate and distinct DNA, for the most part raised in differing circumstances, so the "one solution  fits all" seldom is the answer.  What has worked for some, may not work in mine.

I love that reference to DNA as I have seen God at work in my life - many times, and I also recall the times when it seemed that He was assuming a "hands off" posture.  At first, it seemed to be frustrating, but as the years have moved along I have come to the reality that no matter what I might think about a situation, the wisdom and love from God is always the best answer.  Our greatest need to place our trust in Him and move along.
