All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

TODAY IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE, LET US REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT. I ALWAYS START MY DAY WHEN I OPEN MY EYES BY TELL GOD GOOD MORNING AND THAT I LOVE HIM. I ASK HIM TO HELP STRENGTHEN ME TO WALK IN THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT AND TO HELP ME WALK IN LOVE ALL DAY LONG. I PRAY OVER MY BODY BY NAMING EACH AREA AND ASKING HIM TO BLESS THOSE AREA'S TO BE DISEASE FREE FROM THE CROWNS OF MY HEAD TO THE SOLES OF MY FEET. MY DECEASED MOTHER TOLD ME THAT SHE WISH A MANY OF DAYS THAT SHE HAD DONE JUST THAT, IN THAT SHE WOULDN'T HAVE CAUGHT COLON CANCER. PRAYING OVER YOUR BODY AND FOR YOUR LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS TO BE HEALTHY IS A JOY FOR ME IN THAT I HAVE THAT FAITH THAT GOD HEARS OUR PRAYERS AND ACTS ACCORDINGLY. I REALLY BELIEVE THAT. DO YOU ?

Awesome that you wake up praising the Lord. I lost my mother 5 years ago & that woman was a Prayer Warrior. I use to get mad when I couldn't go in her room because she was praying. However, she's still dead. Death is nothing we can pray to end. It's going to happen be it colon cancer or hit by a car. I can just about bet you David Wilkerson prayed unceasingly yet he wrecked his car & is waiting on us to arrive.

Gen 8:22 As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease. This is just as true with life, as long at it endures here, death is imminent. Not saying we should not pray for our bodies, just saying it isn't a magic potion for health. Again your prayer life is something I'm envious over. Is that a sin to be envious over something that is Godly? hmmmmm. One to study

Yours In Christ

Amen And Amen!!!

I rejoice in this day with you.  Each breath comes from the Lord.  It is good to ask for his strength to walk in the Fruit of the Spirit, and not rely on ourselves.

However...

I agree with Tammy...  We do not know when our lives here will end.

Sickness does not mean the Lord has abandoned you.  I believe that our Lord wants us to be reassured in our sickness that He has not left us.  He wants us to bring Him Glory in our sickness if that should happen to occur. (God forbid---no one wants to be sick).

I think it's spiritually healthy to remember that God works all things together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposes. (Romans 8:28).  We might not understand 'why', but we can ask the Lord 'what next'?

There is always something for us to learn.

Having said that, sickness does also occur because we live in a broken fallen world....prayer is good all the time.

We can't know 'why' a sickness may occur.  It could be demonic, it could be the natural progression of the fallen world we live in....It could be that we have not taken care of ourselves and caused it ourselves.  (ie: smoking, unhealthy eating, not enough exercise).  We have to do our part to take care of our bodies.

How would it be if I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day, and then prayed over my body that God would protect me from lung cancer....  Years down the road I get lung cancer, and blame God for not protecting me...  i had prayed faithfully as far as I was concerned.

I guess what I am saying is we don't know why sickness may occur. I don't believe that God wants to give us our best life now.  He has something much better in mind.  God exists outside of time eternally...and He wants us to have an eternal perspective.   He wants to give us an 'abundant' life....but what is an 'abundant life'?  Does 'Abundant' mean 'health, wealth and prosperity'?  I don't think so.

The picture of an abundant life is summarized in John 17:3 and Galatians 5:22,23.

No one wants to be sick....and I pray that none of us are.  i am concerned over these types of prayers because if someone does become sick, they may start to doubt.  Other Christians may tell them they didn't have enough faith.  Those things are simply not true.  God doesn't promise us perfect health while we are here.  He promises us Himself, Eternal life, the strength and power to get through anything that comes at us, and the strength and power to live for Him---a life of service and surrender for His purposes, His Glory, His Fame-- He also promises us many trials--but He reminds us that He has overcome it all....we simply have to rest in Him and trust in Him.. we have to abide in Him.   Our purpose here now is to live so that others may know Jesus....

It is Awesome that you wake up praising the Lord--That is the right way to start your day...  but not to get something out of it...  Simply for the reason of Praising Him-- He alone is worthy.

It is a mighty testimony indeed when a child of God is sick and remains praising God...

Trusting in Him, and giddy with excitement at the prospect of going Home if that what the 'sickness' means.

Blessings, Carla
