I READ/HEARD THIS:

(I was needing somewhere to put some quotable quotes, so I'll use this blog post, and keep adding to it.)

Here's the first one....

It was said in 1904, at the time of the Welsh revival:
"Life with exuberance is to be preferred over death with composure."

She is Quite Some Lady!!

(Another from the achives... study in Proverbs...)

Wisdom, that is!! Proverbs depicts Wisdom as being a lady, compared to the harlot called Folly.

Here are her credentials:

  • Her companion is Understanding, and they both call out to the simple and the foolish ones.
  • What she says is excellent, right, true and just, and to those who understand it is VERY plain, and to those who find knowledge it is right.
  • You may have the choicest of gold and…

WISDOM is all about CHOICES!!

(More from my Proverbs archives...)

Wisdom is the knowledge and ability to make the RIGHT choices at the RIGHT time.

That's what I read in my Vines Bible Dictionary. (Not exactly in those words, but those were the thoughts.)

And as I see it, the whole book of Proverbs IS a description of what wisdom is. It shows us how to make those right choices. It's about how to direct this free will that God has given us. If we didn't have a free will, we wouldn't… Continue

The Challenge to Make It REAL!!

Isn't Bible knowledge is wonderful? I love it!! I love the Word, because it is God's personal letter to me. And I can tend to be a bit of a Bible freak!! I can't get enough of it!!

But here is something I've learned from from an online buddy, and he's always challenged me on this one.

When someone asks a question, it is so easy to give a pat answer, an answer from the Good Book. What I say probably does mean something to me (I've had a revelation on it), but to someone… Continue

The Power of the Tongue!

It's a stinkin' hot day here. About 37C!! No energy to do anything much, so watching TV seemed a good option.

I came in at the end of an old war movie about Nazi Germany. (Don't ask me the name of the movie.) A trial was on, and a young German soldier (the accused) was giving his defense. He spoke a message to the youth of Germany. It started out with words that pleased his accusers, saying that he had learned his lesson about rebelling against the authorities.

But he… Continue

Repent or Perish

Repent - (The School of Hard Nots - 3)

(LUKE 5:32) > I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance [KJ]

(LUKE 13:5) > I tell you, No; but unless you repent ([change your mind for the better and heartily amend your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins), you will all likewise perish and be lost eternally [Amplified]]

(ACTS 3:13) > Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the… Continue

Baptism

The 8th of June 2008 was a very special day for me, it was the day I professed my faith in Christ Jesus.

My journey to Christ was long and the road was rocky, but what I found at the end was worth more than the pot at the end of a rainbow. It was more than the eye could see or the heart could yearn for. It was a new life, a journey, a completeness, a whole new world.

For my baptism I prepared a testimony which my Minister read at the service. To my surprise the words read out had a… Continue

As a Little Child

When we’re Children the world is new and a place to be discovered. As GK Chesterton said, We’re excited not just because Lilly opened a door to find a land of fairies but because Lilly, a small kid just like us, figured out how to open the door. Reality is romantic because it’s mysterious. We don’t know that a rose bush is going to produce the same color rose every year. Next year instead of red they may be yellow. We don’t see things as forgone conclusions; the world still holds mystery and… Continue

Poem "The Dance" by Hope Grace

Abandonment and Degradation

Intimately held hatred and animosity

Drawing my rapt attention

They danced on the edge of memory

Their dance was spellbinding

And my wrath did swell within

When suddenly I realized

I had been taken in

They circled themselves around me

And gripped each others hands

They sang to me their song

And encouraged me to dance

I began to sway slowly

To the hypnotic pulse they played

But… Continue
