Seven Essential Components of Overcoming Faith

Would you like to have an extra dose of faith to overcome the situation you are in right now? Often people will say they wish they had the faith of a great healer or evangelist.

But, Jesus says that everyone has been given the measure of faith (Rom. 12: 3), and all that you need is faith the size of a mustard seed! (Mat. 17: 20) Why then, is it so hard to get your prayers answered, while others seem to have little or no problem?

First of all, being a person of faith and… Continue

What To Do in Times of Trouble

What To Do in Times of Trouble

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:15 (KJV)

Do you know what time it is? It is time to give God thanks because He is your Deliverer! In the time of trouble, you have to abound in thanksgiving to God. Thank Him for protection. Thank Him for provision. Thank Him for your food. Thank Him for your job. Thank the Father whether or not it… Continue

THE PASTOR`S SON

Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at their church, the Pastor and his eleven-year-old son would go out into their town and hand out Gospel Tracts.

This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside as well as pouring down rain. The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest Clothes and said, "OK dad, I'm ready."

His Pastor dad asked, "Ready for what?"

"Dad,… Continue

90/10 Principle

90/10 PRINCIPLES CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Discover the 90/10 Principle. It will change your life at least the way you react to situations). What is this principle?

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean? We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic.… Continue

ALTRUISM

From My Perspective - - -

In the ebb and flow of life, as one shuffles from place to place, it appears that altruism is either lost in our culture or shoved so far into the background that it is no longer recognizable. If it was implemented in practical ways, much of the dialogue and posturing with which we have become all too familiar would no longer be relevant. We would be doing and being what we should have always been doing and being. Altruism (according to Webster’s Revised…

An Open Letter to a Soldier

An Open Letter to a Soldier

By Darlene Hight

Dear Soldier,

Today is Veteran's day and as I sit on my outside deck drinking a freshly brewed cup of coffee, my thoughts are on you. The day is warm and pleasant here in Bastrop, Texas. My puppies are playing in our fenced yard. Birds sing overhead and I watch as my cat hunts a field mouse. A light breeze brushes across my face. I think about how I sit here in a place of peace and safety while you face… Continue

THAT'S WHAT CHRISTIAN DO NOW, BY DR DONALD WILDMON

That's What Christians Do Now

(By Dr. Donald E. Wildmon President, American Family Association December 11, 2000)

In 1973 The Supreme Court said it was ok to kill unborn babies. Since then, we have killed more than the entire population of Canada. And it continues. A woman's choice? Half of those who have died in their mothers' wombs have been women. They didn't have a choice. It is called abortion.

Me? I go to church, the… Continue

WINDS and WHIRLWINDS

From My Perspective - - -

We have arrived at the morning after and what does that mean? Most of the Ballots have been counted! Approximately 115 million people are recorded to have voted! Millions of dollars have been spent to promote one candidate over another – one issue over another! Almost half the country will be disappointed by the result. Many accusations of “how they won” will be echoed across our land. But – what does all of this mean? Is Almighty God any less Sovereign…

Will America be infected with moral decay?

"The average lifespan of all the world's greatest civiliations from the beginning of history has been about two hundred years. During that two-century span, each of these nations progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to complacency; from complacency to apathy; from apathy to dependence; and from dependence back into bondage."

The Morning After

From My Perspective - - -

The time of Celebration finally comes to an end – the last balloon has floated down; the last bit of confetti is brushed from ones clothing; the Band packs its instruments to leave – the festivities are over! But then – The Morning After comes – along with the weariness of celebration; the hangovers and headaches; a reality that you’re in a strange room with unknown people; gazing and wonderment are also realities - - Then what? As in most “Morning After”…

Thanking Him!

I just want to take the time to acknowledge him and realize that I am truly blessed, instead of focusing on the things I don't have.

Thanks Be to God!!!!

I continue to pray that God will bring me the man that he has for me, so that I… Continue

"Handling emotional Pain", No More Bruises (Checklist for LIfe)

A voice from heaven said, "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away". Revelation 21:4 NKJV

Pain is an immobilizer. When you're in pain, regular life activities are often put on hold. This makes perfect sense, especially if what you're are experiencing is significant physical pain. Imagine, for instance trying to life heavy objects at your job when you're… Continue

Triumvirates - Troikas

From My Perspective - - -

The Troika comes from the Russian Language and History and means: “a threesome; a collection of three of any kind (except the Holy Trinity)…" In particular, the word and concept had particular relevance during the years of Joseph Stalin who had a Commission of Three to carry out the rapid prosecution and persecution of dissidents or anybody accused of political crimes in the Soviet Union. This gave rise to the Triumvirate Concept of rule by three powerful…
