I'm here to...
Meet friends and grow in Christ
Interests:
Reading, surfing the web, spending time with my family, and of course Sunday morning services at my church.
I'm passionate about...
Becoming a better person for my son. He looks up to me and I want to strive to be the best role model I can. I didn't have the best upbringing and I want to fix that for him.
My story with God
This is a strange one....I tried becoming a follower when I was younger, but so much crap happened to me and for a while I didn't think God cared or existed. Why would He let that stuff go on? I've let that go. I went through a hard life, but I learned from it and, in the end, it's made me who I am.
Other stuff about me:
I am a wife and mother of one son...and that's all i'm having. I have a sponsored child in India that is my "daughter". We own a Chinese Water Dragon named Lizzie. I think Taco Bell best describes our life - "Think Outside the Bun!"

Want to run away and hide...HELP!!!

Posted on July 2, 2009 at 12:47am 3 Comments

My husband found a great church for us to go to and it's only 30 min away from our house. The sermons are great, the worship music is most uplifting, and the day care is willing to work with our unruly son. Great right? One problem...my ex and his family go there. I have seen them but so far they haven't seen me. Church is supposed to be a time to leave your problems at the altar and I'm terrified to go up there because I don't want him to know I'm there. He knew me when I wasn't at my best and… Continue

Speaking in Tongues

Posted on May 29, 2009 at 10:50pm 2 Comments

i recently added a comment to the discussion of speaking in tongues. i seem to be the unpopular one on this one. i don't believe that speaking in tongues is screaming gibberish and laying your hands on anyone with in reach. that's just weird and scary. and churches that do this should know that all it does is frighten many new comers away.

in acts the holy spirit filled the desciples and they spoke in the tongues - or languages - of all the tribes that were there. they didn't speak… Continue

Being Christian at Work

Posted on May 29, 2009 at 11:55am 5 Comments

i can't believe how hard it is for me to express my religion at work. i think it's because i lived such a non-christian life before and they all know about that one. it would seem wierd to them that i suddenly made a complete 180. and the last thing i want/need is tension from my co-workers. i don't want to be known as the bible-thumping-christian-psycho-lady.

People at work don't talk or act the same way i do now and it can be akward. last night some guy made a mention of "was jesus… Continue

registered my son for preschool this morning. he's very excited about going. bought my hubby's father's day gifts early yesterday and gave them to him. he picked them out so i couldn't really keep them. and father's day is just around the corner. he got a new bible (niv) so he can read along with the church. that's the translation they use and he had kjv. didn't work out too well. he also got an… Continue

Greetings from our lord jesus christ.........
there is nothing more important than developing a friendship with God.it is impossible for us to know God without having a deep relationship with him.the more we become God's friend. the more we will care about the things God cares about.jacob's passion for God's blessing on his life was so intense.he wrestled with God all night, saying,i will not let you go unless you bless me.wrestling involves close contact, and it takes time and effort. remember, you are as close to God as you choose to be.thank you.God bless you.

Caution... They Walk Among Us!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: 'Free to good home. You want it, you take it.' For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking twice at it. He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting of this deal.
It looked too good to be true, so he changed the sign to read: 'Fridge for sale $50.'

The next day someone stole it!
