#1 - A Voice in the Wind

This first book in the classic best-selling Mark of the Lion series brings readers back to the first century and introduces them to a character they will never forget – Hadassah. Torn by her love for a handsome aristocrat, a young slave girl clings to her faith in the living God for deliverance from the forces of decadent Rome.

What some readers were saying about this book:

This is by far one of the best books I've ever read. I could not put it down!!! I loved the historic aspect, it gave you a vivid glimpse of what life was like in Rome shortly after the death of Christ. The story line is excellently weaved through these times which closley compares to today's society. A must read for anyone!
- Celina

A Voice in the Wind is a wonderfully inspirational book. I actually read the second book in the series, An Echo in the Darkness, first, because that one was available to me first. When I finally got to read A Voice in the Wind, it was nice to be able to go back and learn the history of Hadassah and Marcus, Julia and Phoebe and Decimus, all the events that led up to Hadassah being taken to the arena. What struck me most about this book is how similar the society was then to our society today. Issues such as homosexuality, abortion, cohabitation, even infanticide, existed then just as they do now. As the writer of Ecclesiastes says, "There is nothing new under the sun." While reading this book, I was struck by the truth of that statement.
- Lynne

This book will move you to tears... it is one of the best novels I have ever read! What a beautiful picture of faith shown in Hadassah. The book relates beautifully to modern day life as Hadassah struggles to share her faith, and must live in a situation where countless around her are making life-changing mistakes. This book will make you thankful for what you have... FREEDOM!

The Atonement Child

Readers will enjoy and be challenged by this best-selling contemporary fiction novel by popular author Francine Rivers. When tragedy strikes Dynah, a devout Christian with a bright future, the Carey family struggles to cope. In considering the question of abortion, Dynah and her family must come to terms with God's provision and goodness and what it means to live out the truth even when the cost is high.

I've read this book earlier and it's really good

Francine Rivers testimony

When I became a born-again Christian in 1986, I wanted to share my faith with others. However, I didn’t want to offend anyone and risk “losing” old friends and family members who didn’t share my belief in Jesus as Lord and Savior. I found myself hesitating and keeping silent. Ashamed of my cowardice and frustrated by it, I went on a quest, seeking the faith of a martyr.

I learned that courage is not something we can manufacture by our own efforts. But when we surrender wholeheartedly to God, He gives us the courage to face whatever comes. He gives us the words to speak when we are called to stand and voice our faith.

I still consider myself a struggling Christian, fraught with faults and failures, but Jesus has given me the tool of writing to use in seeking answers from Him. Each of my characters plays out a different point of view as I search for God’s perspective, and every day I find something in Scripture that speaks to me. God is patient with me, and through the study of His Word, I am learning what He wants to teach me. When I hear from a reader who is touched by one of my stories, it is God above, and He can use anything to reach and teach His children – even a work of fiction.

My main desire as I started writing Christian fiction was to find answers to personal questions, and to share those answers in story form with others. Now, I want so much more. I yearn for the Lord to use my stories in making people thirst for His Word, the Bible. I hope that reading my stories will make you hunger for the read Word, Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life. I pray that you will finish my books and pick up the Bible with a new excitement and anticipation of a real encounter with the Lord Himself. May you search Scripture for the sheer joy of being in God’s presence.

Beloved, surrender wholeheartedly to Jesus Christ, who loves you. As you drink from the deep well of Scripture, the Lord will refresh and cleanse you, mold you and re-create you through His Living Word. For the Bible is the very breath of God, giving life eternal to those who seek Him.

Treasures for Women who Hope

As much as we long for blue skies and smooth sailing, storms and rocky times are inevitably a part of our lives. Sometimes the storms hit suddenly and fiercely, leaving behind terrible devastation. Other times the storms are silent clouds of desperation lingering on the horizon, threatening to rock everything we hold dear. Often, hope is the only comfort and joy we can know in the midst of these hard times.

In Treasures for Women Who Hope, best-selling author Alice Gray offers comfort and encouragement to women through an insightful look at God’s Word and through the lives of others. Filled with touching stories of those who have faced insurmountable odds and yet still found hope, Alice shares principles and practices from Scripture that remind us that our sometimes-darkened path is never without hope.
