All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Only one life, it will soon be past; only what's done for Christ will last....

The New Testament author James observes that life is very temporary compared to eternity: What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes (James 4:14).
Not only is life temporary,
but everything you stockpile in this life is also lost when you die.
Several millennia ago, Job rightly observed: Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart (Job 1:21).
Since life is fleeting and possessions are worthless at the end of life,
Jesus wisely instructs us not to amass treasures on earth:
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal (Matthew 6:19-20).
Instead of spending your life to build up things that are like the morning dew, use your life to store up for yourselves treasures in heaven
—lasting treasures.
How do we do that? By glorifying Christ in life and in death.
The Apostle Paul demonstrates in Philippians 3:7-8 his passion for living life to do what lasts into eternity: But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.
What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord,
for whose sake I have lost all things.
I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ. Paul willingly exchanged earthly profit, which doesn't last, for eternal gain (see 1 Corinthians 2:2).

Hi Kathleen, thank you for your emails,
I just had to respond to this one - as for me I am not wanting to die but to stay here working for my Jesus and to welcome Him back for His 1,000 year reign.
Jesus said to Martha in John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. - Kingdom of heaven
John 11:26 And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? - Kingdom of God
Yes Jesus I believe You!

It is so important to obey our Fathers command to"Listen to My Son" Mathew 17:5 Mark 9:7 Luke 9:35. He is the plumb line, heaven and earth will pass away but My Words will never pass away! His Words are life.

Jesus said that we would do what He did and the greater things, so we need to practice!
Who wants to be here for Jesus? Then we had better really get to know Him. Without power how can one stand in the times to come? We would be like the foolish builder and be washed away.

PAGE 1: UNBELIEVER to BELIEVER - (A Babe in Christ) and how I learned to know JESUS more.

My testimony ‘How I found Jesus’ - When I was 26yrs of age I was happily married with two beautiful children, (the third yet to come) but something was missing in my life. Somehow I knew that it was God, for two years I searched for Him. I went into a lot of churches, some even said I had to join or I wouldn’t be saved, I thought – that couldn’t be right what about everyone else? Some were like Jesus had been there but was no longer there.
Obviously I didn’t get to go into a church where I would have found Jesus but God has a plan for each of us.
I was invited to a non denominational Christian breakfast (FGBMFI) – and there I heard some amazing testimonies of what Jesus had done for these men. Then we prayed and a man asked if there was anyone present who would like to give their life to Jesus. He said that it’s not about joining anything or becoming anything, but about a direct relationship with Jesus, with nothing or no one in between just you and Him! I thought “Wow that is just so good” My hand shot up so fast that I thought my hand would come off my arm I got ‘saved,’ baptised in the Holy Spirit speaking in new tongues.
To me that was complete freedom that day I knew who I was, where I came from, and where I was going, so good! I had found Jesus at last! I was so excited I wanted to get to know Jesus, I read everything I could about Him.
And it has been just like that since that April day in 1974. It’s all about Jesus, no matter where I go or where I visit, Jesus is my number one. I have come to know Jesus much better by ‘Listening to Him’ (I have done this in a prescribed way) to know Him is to love Him. To really know Him is to really love Him.

RELATIONSHIP
Step 1 Accept Jesus - “Jesus I believe you are the Son of God, I repent of my sins, come into my life make me born again, baptise me with the Holy Spirit and with fire, Holy Spirit of God my body is Your temple, come live in me, guide me into all truth, show me Jesus, remind me of every word Jesus spoke, show me the things to come, fill me with power to be a witness for Jesus, and new tongues to talk to you, amen Holy Spirit, thank you Jesus”. See Mtt 3:11 John 14:15-16:15, get to know the Holy Spirit and Jesus, read His words and put them into practice.

Deuteronomy 18:15 (Moses) – “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him”.

Deuteronomy 18:18 “I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put My words into His mouth, and He will tell them everything I command Him. If anyone does not listen to My words that the Prophet speaks in My name, I Myself will call him to account.”
Isaiah42:1-4 “Here is My servant, whom I uphold, My chosen One in whom I delight; I will put My Spirit on Him and He will bring justice to the nations/Gentiles. He will not shout or cry out, or raise His voice in the streets. A bruised reed He will not break and a smouldering wick He will not snuff out. In faithfulness He will bring forth justice; He will not falter or be discouraged till He establishes justice on earth. In His law the islands put their hope”.
6 -7 / “I the Lord, have called You in righteousness; I will take hold of Your hand, I will keep You and make You to be a covenant for the people and a light to the Gentiles, to open the eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.”
The Fathers command to the disciples of Jesus Christ – Do you know it? follow it? put His words into practice?
Mathew 17:5 “This is My Son whom I love; with Him I am well pleased, Listen to Him!”
Mark 9:7 “This is My Son, whom I love, Listen to Him”
Luke 9:35 “This is My Son, whom I have chosen: listen to Him”
John 2:5 - Mary the Mothers’ gospel – “Do whatever He tells you”
John 6:29 Jesus answered “The work of God is this: to believe in the one He sent.”
Luke 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
John 13:34-35 I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another. By this all shall know that you are My disciples, if you have love toward one another.
Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you,
Mark 16:17 “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; and they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well”.
John 14:12 Jesus said that those who believe in Him would do what He did and even greater things.

------ SUGGESTED METHOD TO OBEY THE FATHER’S COMMAND ------
Matt 17:5 Mk 9:7 Lk 9:35 “This is My Son whom I love; with Him I am well pleased, listen to Him!”

God spends all of His time loving us, so how much time and how much love do you have for Him?
------- “LISTENING TO JESUS” -------
A most beautiful way to come to know the Lord – a true Bible course!
THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR WORD – THANK YOU FOR YOUR EVERYTHING.
John 1:14 The Word became flesh -
John 6:56 Jesus said “Whoever eats of My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him”.

This method is perfect, it helps to keep your interest at a high level and opens up the ‘Word’ into understanding. The Holy Spirit will remind you of what Jesus said, so invite the Holy Spirit to be with you as you read - ask Him questions - John 14:16
Level 1/ Get a ‘black letter’ Bible read it and search out and highlight all the words that Jesus said, starting in Matthew, then
Mark, Luke and John. Also highlight - in different colours or underline the words spoken by the Father and the Holy Spirit.
,
Level 2/ If you can afford to have a new bible (If possible use different translations) for each of the markings great, if not
read out aloud the all the words you have highlighted from Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Level 3/ A/ Then read and highlight the rest of the New Testament from Acts to Revelation.
B/ Next read the Old Testament - and highlight all the words spoken by God.
C/ Highlight or read out aloud all the words God spoke from Genesis to Revelation three times - or more.
D/ Do the second reading aloud - See if you can hear the tones/voice, was it soft or with authority, when He spoke –
“Let there be light” “What are you doing here Elijah?” “What is your name” “Today you shall be with Me in
Paradise” “Women behold your son” “Behold your mother” “I am coming soon,” etc.
E/ The third time you could sing because we harvest His words in joy when we put them into practice John 4:36 –beautiful!

Level 4/ Then write out all the Words you have highlighted, from Genesis to Revelation. Why? Because Jesus is the King of kings and Lord of lords.Rev. 17:4; 19:16 and this is the requirement of a king-Deuteronomy 17:18 When he takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this Law, taken from that of the priests, the Levites. Joshua 8:32 There in the presence of the Israelites, Joshua copied on stones the Law of Moses which he had written. This is part of our training to be lords and kings in His kingdom if we desire to be overcomers as in Revelation 2:26-27 and 20:4.

Level 5/ You could write or highlight the words of Jesus in different colours according to whom Jesus was speaking to, for
example: privately to the 12 apostles, the disciples in general, the crowds, Pharisees, money changers, healed, demons etc.
.
Level 6/ Keep reading out loud all the highlighted words over and over Genesis to Revelation and you will find that the word of
God will open up and leap out at you as the Lord speaks to you through His word and you become more like Him.

Level 7/ LISTEN as you read - Ps 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God” – There are many voices, Listen and know - who is speaking! John 10:3 -4 – (He calls His own sheep by name and His sheep follow Him, - For they know His voice.)

Level 7-A/ Now “Put My words into practice”! Luke 6:46-48 Mth.7:24-25, Be a wise builder, practice (also see Romans
10:17) Lay hands on the sick, multiply the food, change water to good wine! Practice speaking out the words of Jesus.

Level 7-B/ Many churches, many teachings - if every Christian is “Listening to Jesus” and putting His words into practice
there would be no arguments in Christendom! Genesis 11: 6 –When all are speaking the same language then
“Nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them” Still have an argument? Take it up with Jesus! Ask the Holy Spirit. John 13:34/35 Jesus commands us to love one another, so the world will know that we are His disciples!

DO YOU NOW KNOW GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, and GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT BETTER?
Luke 6:47-48 - Hear His words and put them into practice, practice, practice! Dig down deep, build on the Rock -
Mat 24:35 Jesus said “Heaven and earth will pass away but My words will never pass away”. John6:63 “The words I have spoken to you are S/spirit and they are life.” Heb 4:12 - The Word of God is living and active Sharper than any doubled - edged sword. Rev 1:16 - out of His mouth came a sharp, double-edged sword.

That verse :greater works than these shall Ye do for *I* go unto the *Father* is effected by the following word ;"BECAUSE *I* GO UNTO THE *FATHER*".As until Our Glorified *LORD* was ascended the needed Holy *GHOST* would not be poured out and we couldn`t lay our human hands on another to receive *GOD* *HIMSELF* WHAT GREATER WORK COULD THERE BE!.
Yet lets always remember that *ALPHA & OMEGA & PREEMINENCE,ARE OUR *LORD*S ALONE.
In the words of our *SAVIOUR* "There is none good but *GOD*.
The GREAT,*BECAUSE*,AMEN!
Ps/Maybe ;Only that done `IN` *CHRIST* will last as there is a class of zealous workers that still as Saul of old `forced themselves,;Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.1 Sam 13.12 .
`Roms 10.3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
As for *GOD* *HIS* way is perfect.
Is 28.16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
So lets enter into that rest, trust that *HE* who has begun a good work shall perform unto the Day,we must simply abide, yeah,SIMPLY ABIDE FEEDING ON THE PRECIOUS WORD.
Growing to know the statutes, testimonies etc,etc and trust unto the END
Hi Edwin love to meet up with you one day, I have met several men who have died and come back again, they are so zealous for our Father, I guess that is because they have NO DOUBTS.
The Lord has given a method to enable us to follow His command to 'Listen to Him' Mathew 17:5 Mark 9:5 Luke 9:35.
What the Lord showed us at the Holy Spirits Workshop is to highlight every word that came out of the mouth of Jesus, then start in Genesis and do the same with the words from God
Many miracles have taken place as we practice His words, blind eyes have been opened, lame have walked, cancers healed, deaf hear, backs healed, and the good news preached to the poor -at the Holy Spirits breakfast for the homeless every Saturday morning, it has been so fruitful and has opened up the Word so much more than before.
His word is life, light, power ----- and will never pass away. It has been great way to get to know Jesus so much more, His word is the - measuring stick, the plumb line.
Come over (across the 'ditch') and share your testimony!
ps I am taking up you suggestion to find the source of the so called 'rapture' - something I cannot find, well at least until it is ll over when Jesus returns. If one truly loves Jesus who would want to desert Him anyway?

Yes *Lord* amen I say to a meeting up GraHam.I should be in Brisbane shortly and HK and Thailand, *Lord* willing, over the next month or 2. email;yor.ed1@gmail.com
Jude 20.Lk 18.17.Acts 4.33.
I remember hearing those words from the late Corrie Ten Boom years ago- I still quote them to myself from time to time.
Great post Kathleen.
SAME,Rab,and she (Corrie), also bemoaned this fairly recent `Early flight from problems.` doctrine, pretrib rapture, which has plagued our planet and brought futher divisions.(Check the source of it !) Promises; Ps 91.Ps 119.11
When Our *Lord* has already desired our presence here to the end as witnesses when most needed.Jn 17.15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Sad to have to use this as a platform but many dear Younger christians are soiled with modern stuff and need a "voice in the wilderness" crying "This is the Way."Only the offendable will get offended anyway(or poor me types who havn`t come to Lazarus`s reconciliation state,*JESUS* is *LORD* of ALL! and Everything!, even our persecutions and fleas, so we don`t have to even remember the past,Phil 3.13.) and who is hurt by preparing for the worst? nobody!!!.Just want to qualify that flea thing with;
Ecc 9.11;I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and CHANCE! happeneth to them all.
*GODS* not a control freak but sure *HE* knows how to work through stuff for our good
when we trust. WONDERFUL,AMAZING,FAITHFUL,MERCIFUL,FRIEND,*GOD*
IN *CHRIST JESUS*
THANK*YOU* *HEAVENLY FATHER*
We often forget that there exists an Eternal heavenly Kingdom and we are to be its citizens. We go on thinking that Life here on earth is the absolute.I heard a preacher say in a sermon. GOD was asked in an interview what do you find most amusing in a man.GOD replied Man lives as if he is never going to die and He dies as if he has never lived. We find that all what we have gained or amseed or took pride is nothing and we all depend on OUR LORD'S LOVE, MERCY and COMPASSION.May GOD Bles You and Guide You
Dear sister, thank you for sharing this with me, it is broadening my understanding of the Bible. Praise the Lord. Haleluja!!! God bless us all always. CG
