Why do so many Christians prefer the here and now?
Why do so many Christians say they want to go to heaven with Jesus but only in their own timing?
Why do they want to wait until this or that event has come or gone to say they are okay with Jesus coming?
Why is life here on earth preferred over eternity with Jesus?

The only thing i would say is that before Jesus comes back I want all my loved ones to be saved.
Otherwise, I'm good. :-)
I know I'm still here for reasons that God has determined. There's still work to do.

There are some, possibly more than we realize, who proclaim faith and yet fear (or have doubts) that Jesus may not really be on the other side. They hope, but when pressed they just are not sure. I know that sounds judgmental, but regardless it is a reality within the church that not all have assurance.

i want the kind of faith where if a person had a gun to my head and demanded i deny Jesus, i would choose to die for Jesus rather than deny Him. what do we do if our faith isn't yet that solid?
what you said here sounds like people who aren't yet constantly solid in their faith are false proclaimers...?

The one that walked with Him for 3 1/2 years denied Him. I would love to say I would stand for Him regardless but I can't say that especially if my children was involved. I'm not saying I won't, I'm just praying I won't ever have to know.

I don’t think anyone would know, until they are faced with that decision.
Like someone would say, what would you do if you hit the big jackpot, multi-millions?
Lot of Christians would say, I would give most of it away! “REALLY?”

I am READY to go HOME. But, I know what you are talking about. And, have never understood the thinking. I know that I am Loved by Him. So the time will be best suited. I have told our Dad, I am ready when He is. He has informed me He already knows.

I'd be okay to go now... but I feel selfish in saying that because I have a family, and a role and responsibilities in my family. It's not time yet...

Sister,Carla, I agree with you on that as well!
I just want to go be with Jesus! Yet, like you, I don't want to be selfish. It'd especially effect my parents. It'd be easier if they were safe in Jesus' arms, even on earth. than He could be their comfort.
