All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

This no doubt is the beginning of a time prophesied by Jesus through Paul.....its root is....and which we are all guilty is. This is  how it begins when children see something and WANT it.Eventhough it maynot be much to us .But they will demand it I want that !!! and repeat themselves so many times the parent does the worst thing possible caves in to the demand just to shut them up.But It doesnt end there this cycle repeats itself and over time becomes part of this childs make up....which leads to total dependancy upon another because they were never taught how to stand, find a job let alone keep it. Have no drive to be productive because they lack the basic skills which should have been instilled by thier father, grandfather etc......this generation comming up now is  deeply addicted to enablement either thier parents give it to them and they never learn or they get kicked out of thier parents place and cant ever pay thier rent because of wanting everything else instead of the nessessessities.....there has even been discussions on giving some Social security  because  they cant survive.....they  never paid in either..but  the worst parent of all who is in favor of giving entitlement checks is the president of America......We are  in a time of total chaos in the home, in the  marital relationship, within the family as the title says...........If we stopped giving to every little whimper a child makes because they want something, let them throw themselves down on the floor and scream....just shut the door and turn up the radio.

Luke 12:53

You're absolutely right that there is a strong sense of entitlement with our youth these days, and it's only getting worse.

I think this scripture is referring more to the cost of discipleship though...  Family members will turn against us when we decide to follow and live for Jesus.

I'm not sure how entitlement connects to the cost of discipleship?  What do you think?

Blessings, Carla

ps--my husband and I are mean parents..  we take great pleasure in telling our kids 'no'. ;-)

lolol. You're not mean. I must admit my kids are total brats. Mine & my husband's bad for sure.
