All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Ok, does anyone else have this problem?

I try to talk to God, whether verbally or just thinking to Him. I can't seem to fully express myself to Him. I don't know how to put so much into words. I repeat myself to Him so much. At times I express myself to Him through body expressions like arm flapping. It's like the words are locked up and despite I want to tell Him something I can't fully tell Him. It's frustrating. It's one of the worst things...I can't express myself fully to my Best Friend.

I know He knows what I mean even if I can't tell Him complelty...it's just so frustrating.

haha you crazy... haha J/K... I think

Words fall like drops of rain.
My lips are like clouds.
I've said so many things, trying to figure you out.
But as mercy opens my eyes, and my words are stolen away.
With this breathtaking view of your grace...

And I am Speechless
I'm astonished and amazed
I am silenced by your wondrous grace.
You have saved me
You have raised me from the grave.
And I am Speechless
In your presence now.
I'm astounded as I consider how
You have shown us a love that leaves us speechless.

So what kind of love could this be
That would trade heaven's throne for a cross
And to think you still celebrate
over finding just one who was lost.
And to know you rejoice over us
The God of this whole universe.
It's a story thats too great for words...

We are speechless
Oh how great is the love
The Father has lavished upon us,
That we should be called the sons and daughters of God
We are speechless

Jo.3:6 says “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit, meaning there is no direct connection between the two. They might be interrelated, but spirit is spirit and flesh is flesh. You simply cannot contact your spirit through your emotions or your physical body. This has always been a big problem with the Christian life.

You must understand that spiritual reality cannot be felt. There is a lot more that needs to be studied about your spirit, soul and body. Just don’t have time to explain now.

God is looking at you through the spiritual realm, If you are born again, you are in Jesus; God’s son, and Christ is in you and this is how God sees you.

According to Ps.103:10; God has not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. It is all in the Spiritual realm.

Joe

Char, I tell Him "You know what I mean" actually quite often.

What I mean about trouble communicating is....I know there's alot of Christians who can pray and go on praying. The prayer/talking to Him sounds normal. If all of us on AAG prayed together we (excluding me)would be able to pray and actually would be able to be understood by the other brothers and sisters in Christ. I may be able to be understood somewhat but not complelty.

For me it isn't easy. I can't always get in a complete sentence. I may say something like "Lord, help." "Please save them." "Please save my mom." "Help, them please help". "They need you."

I can get in sentences but for quite a bit it's like the above I've stated. Put it this way it wouldn't be a good idea to have me lead in a prayer. My words are broken up. You may not compeltly understand if you heard me pray/talk to Him. I may be like "Lord, help them!" and flap my arms/hands. If you seen me it may get kind of annoying to see someone may age trying to pray and flap her arms. It's a communication technique. I can't say it always verbally so I have to with body language.

That prayer you said was humble. I like that-more importently though, not to speak for Him, but that seems like something God really likes in a prayer. :o) Just how you said it.

It wouldn't be as bad for me if I didn't repeat myself so much though...He knows what everyone of us mean. I guess it's mainly just frustrating to me...

Romans 8:26–27 tells us, "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will" (NLT).

you are not alone..i too have problems talking to god...i agree i just wish we could see him.it would make me feel better then i could  talk to him properly.

There's a scripture, forget which chapter and verse though. Blessed is he who believes and hasn't seen.

We'll get to see Him soon though! Hang in there. :hugs

Sister, I feel prayer is not all about talking.  So if there are no words to be said, just listen and follow His directives.

He knows our needs before we ask so we just have to resort to praising Him if we do not know what to pray for.

Blessings.

Hi feetbreeze,

Jesus does understand your ‘flapping’ arms. You are expressing yourself in ways that are intimate between you and The Spirit.

It is precisely because we are often unable to express ourselves sufficiently in our own languages and thought patterns that Jesus sent the gift of a special language to each of his followers in order that we may be able to relate intimately to him on a personal level.

The next time that you feel this way, simply relax and allow your spirit to express yourself in words that will come naturally to your tongue. They will not be words that your mind understands but they will be like phrases and utterings, sounds that you and your creator share between you.

Holy Spirit knows your ways and feelings. He has given you this form of relationship as a special love gift because he cares for you.

I agree with tim. I have a tendincy to repeat my self a lot also. Usually when my feelings are mixed up and I don't know what to say I just sit there let Him figure it out. I know He knows what we say before we even begin to think of it

Even when we have trouble expressing our thoughts or words to father; ; remember dear sister, father knew us before we were, and He knows whats in our hearts; Father knows our prayers, even when we cannot think straight,... Just keep believing and ask Him for the words , and they will come,... Huggs

Thank you both. :) I know He understands us no matter how our communication is. That's what is so awesome about how the Holy Spirit interceeds for us when we don't know what to pray!
