All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Brothers and sisters, this is an up-to-date firestorm controversy that I need your help on. Glenn Beck was recently joined by several Evangelical well-respected leaders in a sort of Evangelical rally at the Mall this last weekend. I am pasting a tape of his apparent testimony and I'm sure you have already seen much of the coverage of the rally. Evangelical leaders are greatly divided over the issue of whether or not to support him in his effort to get a Spiritual revival started in America. I am asking for your advice in this matter.

Remember, Glenn Beck is a declared Mormon. Take a look at the video if I can get it on. If not I will past the link and ask someone to put it on. Thanks and God bless you.

By the way, I am a fan of Glenn Beck and watch his show often.
Joe,

You are correct. I do not have the authority to judge Glenn Beck. However, to say I am of Paul, Peter or Apollos is a far stretch from saying I am of the Christian faith or I am of the Mormon faith. They are critically far apart.

One of the verses you spoke was 1 Cor 3:11;
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

We need to be sure that our foundation is upon Jesus and Him alone and not on some crazy version of a Jesus that does not or never did exist.

I pray that Beck is trusting in the Jesus of Scripture and that does not include the Book of Mormons.

I pray that those Evangelicals that are close to him will point out the error of the Mormon faith and that he will depart from it.

God bless,
Roy
i heard on a christian radio netwrk here on this topic that unfortunately some of these evangelicals are jumping on becks bandwagon
Bro Vox,

Right on. Spoken like a man of God. Your comment rocks.

Roy,

What are you doing watching this cat and being his fan? haahahaha Just kidding bro.

We support those who align as closely to our Christian beliefs as possible, without agreeing in other areas of their lives. We specially do not agree with their religion, if their religion is a cult, which Mormonism is.

Glenn sounds like he has had an experience with God, but I have not found him saying that Jesus is his Lord and savior, but only God knows his heart. I hope he is saved. I do pray God will lead him to a healthy place to fellowship in due time.

It had to be you to bring something like this to the table my friend and it's a good topic. It's a great day in LA, family is all around and the meat and chicken is cooking -

Love you Roy
David,

Family is one of the most wonderful creations of God. Family accepts you no matter what - or at least that is the way He intended that to be. I know you had a great time last night.

Here is one guy that wants to invite Beck into the family. However, I am also one that is not quite ready to say it is a done deal. I do pray that it is our Holy Father that is seeking after Him to bring Glenn in. Beck is certainly ready to take on some of the very evil factions in our nation. He is very much aligned with the Word with his opposition to socialism. Socialism is an evil that has destroyed every economy it has gained control of.

I believe we all need to be praying for Beck. We could sure use him in the church and he is being an effective tool in our nation.

We need to be in prayer for our nation as well. We are facing some very serious times. I have never seen anything like the times we are in. But, I wasn't around for the Great Depression.

Happy belated Labor Day, David. Got some pictures?

Roy

if he chooses to be mormon what is that to me?    it should mean to you that he is not a christian. thats not judging him thats just plain common sense out of scripture.

Rita,

You should know that Mormon theology is radically different from Christian theology. They cannot properly be called Christians.

The end time religion will be a hodgepodge of all religions mixed together.... this is just one effort in that direction. There are multitudes of attempts to bring this to the forefront taking place as we speak, and they will continue and intensify. They will all contain a measure of truth, in order to draw men into this belief system. It is
Anti-christ all the way.

We either stand for ONE GOD...or we accept all gods.
Gayla,

I have to agree with you and vox. I really do pray for Glenn's salvation but I know he will need to come to know the Jesus of the Holy Bible before he can be saved. Jesus did tell us that in the last days, many would come in His name. Jesus told us that in the end times false Christs and false prophets would arise to deceive the very elect if that were possible. I am surprised to how many are accepting his confession of faith without checking who he is confessing to believe in. I was surprised to hear from some leaders in the church that I have great respect for acknowledging his confession. We need to be more careful.

Roy
Maybe as professing Christians, and in light of God’s Word “spiritually“, without a philosophical or a theoretical view; we should not be too quick to judge another, in anything. Because sometimes we will have attendancy to get a little religious; as, it is either our way or no way attitude.
Blessings to all that hath ears to hear.

Romans 14:4 (KJV)
4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Romans 14:11-13 (KJV)
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

James 4:11-12 (KJV)
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?

Romans 14:4 (KJV)
4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Romans 14:11-13 (KJV)
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

1 Corinthians 3:1-15
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. Not to be taken as being condescending
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

We might get a double shot of this, if so I'm sorry Joe
Yes, Joe, this is in a separate place. I replied above.

I went through some of Glen Beck's speeches yesterday and tried to find something in one of them , that, for me, would show he isn't a Christian. I couldn't find it, but that could be that I didn't happen onto the one that GinnieBee was refering to. Nor did I hear anything that caught my ear to say he believed other than what he stated. I did hear him say he was a Mormon. I didn't hear him say he believed that Satan and Jesus were brothers.
I won't argue the doctrines of any church denomination. The foundation of my beliefs is Christ Jesus. I won't question the foundation of another's beliefs because that isn't for me to guess at.
All I know is this: Glen Beck is trying to draw us as a nation, together. He is using his program to do this, in a time when the Name "God" is almost forbidden to be spoken. That says a lot for me. Time will tell whether he is a true Christian, which I believe he is.
I think that the Holy Spirit will do his work with Glen Beck, just as He has done with the rest of us. Until that work is complete, I can't judge against him.

With him trying to draw us together as a nation, which we desperately need, and attempting to renew this country to a belief system UNDER GOD, instead of under the democrat and what that belief system currently is....whether he is Mormon, or any other religion has little to do with me. He has made his confession to millions of viewers, and he is showing me his heart is for God so, for now that is enough.

I am not trying to argue with you...just trying to explain why i won't judge him.
Rita
