All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I was on youtube and i saw a video called "the faith of idiots". for some reason i clicked it to see what this person had to say. To put it sort, out of the whole 3:38 minuit video it sounde as if he was saying "The only reason most people have faith in there religions is because they are lazy, stupid and want to take orders like sheep" I also think he was having a bit of a dig at christians. in the little description of the video he says "Too lazy and stupid to think for yourself? Welcome to Jesus country".

PEOPLE  I would like your views on this and what you think. personaly i think its horrible how someone could put this on the internet, fair enough he has freedome of speech but there is no need to be so rude. I would also like to know how you would respond to this if you had to give an answer to it.

god bless.

Hi Theo,

I think it's best to avoid engaging in this type of discussion.... pray for them..
My advice is to not go looking for someone to disagree with over your faith...There are enough people in the world who will say you are foolish to believe..scripture supports this:

1Cr 1:18 I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God.

1Cr 1:19 As the Scriptures say, "I will destroy human wisdom and discard their most brilliant ideas." [fn]

1Cr 1:20 So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world's brilliant debaters? God has made them all look foolish and has shown their wisdom to be useless nonsense.

1Cr 1:21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never find him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save all who believe.

and this:

1Cr 2:12 And God has actually given us his Spirit (not the world's spirit) so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

1Cr 2:13 When we tell you this, we do not use words of human wisdom. We speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. [fn]

1Cr 2:14 But people who aren't Christians can't understand these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them because only those who have the Spirit can understand what the Spirit means.

1Cr 2:15 We who have the Spirit understand these things, but others can't understand us at all.

Answered prayer will mean another testimony for Christ....that many more will know Jesus.

If I had to give an answer to it... I would ask them why they want to know. My discernment is that they want to argue...therefore I would not acknowledge it... Let them be right in their own eyes... Give Me Jesus!

Blessings, Carla
Hey yonster -

Good questions. I checked out the vid and do not suggest anyone else do it, it's full of insults and bad language. Theo as Christians we are to walk in the Spirit, so we can be guided to do as the Spirit leads.

You are asking us how we should respond, but bro that is completely up to how the Spirit would lead each individual. Also we should be aware of our own maturity level. I remembered when I first came to Christ and people would asked me all sorts of biblical questions and I often had to tell them as the blind man in John 9, look all I know right now is that I was lost and now I see and would shared what the Lord had done and was doing in my life. I would also tell them that I would research their questions and get back to them. When people would want to challenged my faith and I was just a babe in Christ I would do the same thing and tell them, look you can argue until your face turns blue, but I am telling you, the only thing I know is that I am no longer the same person.

Here is how one baby Christian answered in the word:

John 9
24 A second time they summoned the man who had been blind. "Give glory to God," they said. "We know this man is a sinner." 25 He replied, "Whether he is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!" 26 Then they asked him, "What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?"
27 He answered, "I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?" 28 Then they hurled insults at him and said, "You are this fellow's disciple! We are disciples of Moses! 29 We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don't even know where he comes from." 30The man answered, "Now that is remarkable! You don't know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes.34To this they replied, "You were steeped in sin at birth; how dare you lecture us!" And they threw him out.

In Romans God tells us through Paul that some folks are beyond help, He has already pass judgment over them while they are still the living dead. So at times the Spirit will tell me don't contend with that person.

Matthew 7:6
"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.

Romans 1:18-32 (New International Version)

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. 21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 28 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind; to do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Other times He guides me like He guided Elijah to do:

1 Kings 18:27
At noon Elijah began to taunt them. "Shout louder!" he said. "Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened."

Elijah was clowning the fools and being sarcastic. Not often, but at times God tells me, Son Love them/kick their booty with the truth.

Example, so my statement above doesn't get taken out of context:

Everyone at work knows I am very active at my church because I invite them to my church and church activities. But from time to time the guys try to make me feel horrible about my convictions, so they come by after work in a Friday night and invite me to happy hour at a gentlemen’s club or something like that. So here they are at my desk inviting me for a night on the town and I tell them, no thanks, I got to preach tonight and then I am having dinner with my girl (when and if I have one haha), so they tell me ohhh man again. Come on Dave stop being a sissy and grow some ^&^%& and join us. At times I just tell them, no fellas, I am cool man. But at other times the Spirit tells me - let them have it son. At those times I am like, ok, so you are telling me to go have fun with you, right, they are like, yeah dude, then I tell them hahaha Ok so let me get this straight, going to church and then a nice dinner is not fun, but going to get wasted and ignore my wife and spend my hard earned money with woman who are paid to make me drink or in a sports bar full of sad individuals looking to hide their pains, is the real fun. So fun is hurting my wife/girlfriend (cause some are married with kids) and spending money I could spend on something for the family, you are telling me that is better than what I have planned. Please guys - get real. hahaha At this point they look at me like, dude you are crazy and they go about their business.

All that to say - do as the Lord leads. I heard of testimonies of people like the one on the video Actually Paul persecuted the church) come to the knowledge of Christ through many different ways. However there are those like the guy on the video that God already asked His Holy Spirit to not contend with them. So you see bro. We need the Spirit to guide us.

How would I answer him? I would answered Him according to the leading of the Spirit and only if the Spirit ask me too.

Ohhh one last thing bro. That is the last time they asked me to go clubbing with them hahaha but they do come by my desk or at lunch time to ask me to pray for a need they or a love one of theirs may be having.

All glory and praise be to God. Love you man.
wow you got your job? if so way to go dv... im way behind I thought you were still searching,

your story with your co-workers bring back memories for me. thanks for sharing
Theo this reminds me of several years ago when I was serving the Lord the best I knew how. I sat at the computer to check out the history to see where my son had been . The most part was ugly ugly ugly. When I was looking he had forgotten to turn off his chat. His friend was online and said hey to my son. I typed in that I was his mom. I expected him to stop typing but he didn't. He threw out a polite hidy then started downing Christians. He said that if Jesus was real he was a communist and he wasn't the son of God because God didn't exist. I tried telling him that Jesus did exist . This guy knew his scripture and when he would down a chrictian and down the way preachers preach he would quote scripture after scripture to me. A few months before that if this guy had of aproached me he may have convinced me of what he was saying. I wish i could remember all he was saying. The point im trying to make is I was ashamed because i was not equipped with the word of God to show this guy he was wrong. Instead he easily made me look like an idiot. If you decide to approach an ugly talker please make sure, as someone else said here, be holy spirit led and know the word enough to backup what you are saying. I have unsaved realotives and one who is atheist... he is always every chance he gets downing the bible and christians, and shamefully I never know scripture. I am thinking im way off based here... just deleet it.
The saddest part of this topic is that there are people out there that don't know. They think they know about God, but they don't really know Him at all. They down Christianity because they haven't a clue what it is about. They don't have a clue of what God means to us, and they don't understand why we live for Christ. They are truly the weak ones because they won't bother to find out why we are and why we live the way we do.
We can't encourage them in the Lord because they are so backwards, they won't listen.

My prayer has been and will always be that someone reach them before it's too late.

Even sadder than that is people who go to church and have no idea why they are there except to congregate with their friends.
They listen to the Word for an hour but never commit any further than that.

We need to focus on Christ, and what He did for us on the Cross, and pray for these people that we can't reach.
Thank you all for your comments on this and thanks for the advice.
lots of love :)
I also think it's horrible but fortunately God is more than capable of fighting His fights, leave it to Him . We can only pray that God will have mrcy on them.
