All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

When is enough enough in life? When you're one person trying to get through life with a small child ....financially struggling barely able to make it and more and more things are added to your plate? You pray and hope things will get better and many nights you cry yourself to sleep hoping and wishing things be alright ....i am very grateful for everything i have and achieved at this point in life

When is enough enough?  Sometimes that's the place people get to just before they surrender to Jesus.

I reached that point about 11 years ago.  I just knew I couldn't go on without help... I didn't even know that Jesus is who I needed.

I didn't understand that I was born into this world spiritually dead, separated from God.  I didn't understand that I had sinned against my Creator.  Every part of a human being is corrupted by sin.. mind, will, flesh, emotions, desires.  This sin corruption has a penalty of death..  spiritual death...and if we are spiritually dead when we die physically, we will die separated from God eternally in hell.  This is bad news... Except, there is a remedy.

Jesus Christ suffered and died in our place.  He took the penalty of sin upon Himself.  He resurrected back to life and defeated sin and death.

Once I understood what Jesus did for me, everything changed.  I don't mean that my life was all of the sudden easier, because that's not true... It wasn't easier, but it was peaceful... I was peaceful.  For the first time in my life I felt peaceful.  I was reassured of God's love, grace and forgiveness....and that was and is enough.  Suddenly I had hope, when I didn't even realize I needed it.  I was born again.. Not a physical birth, but a spiritual birth.

We're born physically in to this world separated from God because of sin.  The sin of Adam and Eve which was imputed to us.  It hardly seems fair right!!  That's why Jesus came.  Jesus came to earth to reconcile us to the Father.  That's why He suffered, died and rose again back to life.  To defeat sin and death.  He took our punishment upon Himself.  When we repent of our sin and trust in Jesus we're forgiven and reconciled to the Father.   When we repent of our sin and accept Jesus, His perfection is imputed to us.  Once we're born again, God looks at us and sees the perfection of Jesus, He no longer sees our sin.  This is good news.  That's what gospel means.

That's not the end of it though.  We're not only saved from hell.. We're saved to something. We're saved now here on earth as New Creations.  The old has gone, the new has come!  We have new life in Christ with new desires, opinions, hearts... We're new, and we begin to mature.  We won't be perfect this side of heaven....but we will grow.

One of the main things that changed for me was my motives behind my actions.  Now I desire to please God and bring Him Glory, and before I was born again I didn't care.  Now I do. Now, I want to know what He says and I want to be obedient to those things because I love Him.  It may sound like a small thing but it changes everything.

Blessings, Carla

Hi Lost Soul, God bless you!

How are you? Thought I'd check in with you. I wanted to assure you that Jesus Christ cares. He cares about you.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)

He asks us to be yoked together with Him. When oxen are yoked together, one of the oxen always bears the weight of the load. Jesus Christ wants to bear that weight.

What I observe from this verse is that Jesus didn't say we will never have problems. He did say where to come when we are heavy laden and need rest for our souls. He said we are to go to Him. It says He will give us rest to our souls, that His burden is light.

God's love,

Mary

Im actually feeling much better thank you ive just been praying each and every day and learning to let go of things in which i cannot control
