Responding to people who like to remind us of our past.
I have an old 'friend' who likes to remind me of my past.
Sometimes people don't want to let us move on.
How do you respond to people that we are 'new' without sounding self righteous, giving God the Glory?
What if that person doesn't want to acknowledge that you are new, and continues to bring up the 'old'?
2 Cor 5
16Therefore from now on we recognize no one according to the flesh; even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him in this way no longer. 17Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 18Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Knowing the enemy's motive of operation will help you recognize those thoughts and the difference between the holy spirit helping you to see your loving God..God is love..what is love? Wash in the word and and just remember God is merciful and corrects in a loving way that comforts like a big hug..love is kind..love does not require an account..etc..paul teaches in 1 Corinthian how we know..when you look in the mirror see the new creation in Christ that you are..it is promised and it is finished. .He loves us ..the Word tells us His mercy brings us to repentance. .humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up. .awesome love there for us..praise God with all your heart..He is worthy of our praise..the enemy is a liar and slanders and accuses us before all but we have the greatest council in Jesus Christ the Lord. .thanks
