If the High-Priest was not permitted to do cleaning and he went in to the H of H only once a year and the H of H was never cleaned for years and years what condition would it have been in after many, many years of dust-mites and dead bugs on the floor and on the box with the 2 standing angel-statues?  As much as I am NOT ABLE to prove from the Holy Bible that the H of H was cleaned, nobody can prove from the Holy Bible that the H of H was NOT cleaned!  Where the W of G is silent about any matter,  the best we human beings can do is to give our own FLAWED opinions.  For example: Did Paul write the book of Hebrews or someone else.  Did Paul "visit" heaven in his flesh-body or in spirit?   Will it be Enoch and Elijah who come down to earth to be the 2 WITNESSES in Rev. 11?  Your guess is good or bad as mine!!!

Btw the Bible says this:  Acts 17:24
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands.

The above being what the actual situation was,  the H of H is only a spiritual place having a MATERIAL application or OBJECT LESSON.   With that in mind, I have my mind telling me that the H of H had to be cleaned regularly.  Btw, I believe that the H of H was only meant to function SPIRITUALLY with a material object lesson attached to it.

God is omnipresent, so He did not only exist in the Holy of holies, but He chose it to be the meeting place for the purpose of atonement and the people were instructed to stay out, except the high priest once a year after much preparation.

I do not believe the Word is silent on this issue. You are making a human argument by assuming because our houses have dust and need to be clean that the Holy of holies must have also gathered dust, cobwebs, etc and needed a regular cleaning. Two things to consider. 1) God gave very specific instructions about the tabernacle. He included how to make it, empowered people to make it, provided all the material and instructed them on how to care for it, function in it and how to move it ... yet, there is no mention of anyone being set aside to clean it, but we do have the instruction that no one is to enter, except the high priest and that only once a year. 2) We must accept that God is sovereign over all of His creation and lives unconstrained by the natural laws of nature that He established. When Israel was in the dessert moving around they had a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day ... this is not natural. They witnessed the 10 plagues in Egypt which too were not natural. I believe it is a small thing for God to have kept the Holy of holies spotless year round without need of someone to enter to clean it. Thus, without the inclusion of such instructions in the face of all the other specific instructions (including no one but the high priest) we have to conclude that no one entered in while it was set up.

I have no proof from the Bible that the H of H was cleaned.  You have no proof from the Bible, that it was not!

Heb 9:1-8 NIV84 Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary. (2) A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand, the table and the consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place. (3) Behind the second curtain was a room called the Most Holy Place, (4) which had the golden altar of incense and the gold-covered ark of the covenant. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant. (5) Above the ark were the cherubim of the Glory, overshadowing the atonement cover. But we cannot discuss these things in detail now. (6) When everything had been arranged like this, the priests entered regularly into the outer room to carry on their ministry. (7) But only the high priest entered the inner room, and that only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance. (8) The Holy Spirit was showing by this that the way into the Most Holy Place had not yet been disclosed as long as the first tabernacle was still standing.

Hi Group,

Sorry for my absence, but have been working on a book.

It's time to get involved.

Hi Sheila,

A primary thought to answering your original question -

We must remember that God knows every Christian's heart, and will judge all those passing from that point.

Hi Ananda,

James 4:17, "Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do, and does not do it, to him it is sin." (N.A.S.B).

Let's apply to that verse = Romans 1:17-21, "17, For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "But the righteous man shall live by faith."18, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19, because that which is known about God which is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. 20,For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes,

His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood  through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. 21, For even they knew God, they did not honor Him as God, or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened." (N.A.S.B.).

I would sum that passage up as every person ever born (and still are being born) are familiar with Almighty God,

and choose to turn their backs on Him (at the age of reason) and their foolish hearts are darkened. They are on the outside, not even looking in.

Ananda, are you a member of a church?

Grace and Peace to one and all.

Hey Richard. Glad to see you back brother. I've definitely missed you. I'd also love to read your book. Could you send me the details of it in my inbox & where I can buy it, etc?

James 4:  17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.  (Btw I will never quote from any other Bible than the KJV because the KJV is the closest (in the English language), to the Originals.

The above is what I have been saying all along!   Every human being, however GOOD or HOLY (in their own minds) is HOLY before God.  Why?  Because of James 4:17.  Because of this verse every human beings gets  INDICTED in the court of Almighty God (aka Jesus Christ the Judge of all judges)...the moment they IGNORE or sidetrack a GOOD THING that they should have done!

Personally, I am guilty of breaking Jam. 4:17  almost every day!  I believe that the Apostle Paul "thought about his own failings" in light of the spirit of Jam. 4:17.  (Rom. 7: 14--18).

I wrote:  Every human being, however GOOD or HOLY (in their own minds) is HOLY before God.

Sorry for the mistake above, because no human being is HOLY in God's sight until the person gets born again by the Holy Spirit (John ch. 3).  Nicodemus thought he was qualified to enter into the presence of Almighty God is heaven.  But what did Jesus say to him?  He said: " Nick...be born again if you want to get into heaven!"

Ananda,................ Amen.

Grace and Peace.

Thank you very much for the " AMEN."

Ephesians 1:4 teaches that anybody who gets into heaven gets in there because that person has been CHOSEN to get into heaven before he/she was born.  All-knowing God will never CHOOSE a person to be in heaven knowing that that person will not QUALIFY some time later.  It means that before He chooses a person to be in His very presence one day...He makes sure that the person WILL QUALIFY to get into heaven.   If the person has sinned and died before he/she "got right" with God,  that sin or sins are CLEANSED by default because of

1 John 1:7.  The CLEANSING is an ON-GOING one throughout a Genuinely Born Again persons life.  At the moment of Salvation a person is ADOPTED into the Family of God.  Adoption is far better than being naturally born into a family.  A naturally born child was NOT CHOSEN to be a member of the new family.  A adopted child is a CAREFULLY CHOSEN one.  1st Peter 1:2 confirms this principle.

If God allows an UNQUALIFIED person to enter heaven, can you imagine what a "field day" Satan will have mocking God for NOT KNOWING the future actions of that person?  Will All-knowing God allow Himself to be mocked by Satan?  No way!!!
