All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Recently I am praying for the salvation of several Cult groups and Muslims. I hear a lot when it comes to praying for the salvation of others. There are mainly 2 types

1. Fast and pray without stopping, until God decided to answer your prayer and save those people. You would feel the burden lifted from your heart when God has decided to answer your prayer. If you have burden pray for them and the Holy spirit inside you will groan with words that human beings can not understand. Prevail in prayer, bind the satan and evil forces, put complete concentration and efforts in prayer

2. God knows everything before you ask, so relax and leave everything in God's mighty hands. Don't repeat your request. Just tell Him once and leave it and sleep peacefully. Fasting and staying awake is not going to change God's decision. So, relax and find rest in the mighty hand of God. God knows how to save them and when to save them.

Now, which one should I follow. Please answer

Act_26:18  to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

2Co_4:4  The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

2Co_4:6  For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

Eph_5:8  For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light

Eph_5:9  (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)

Eph_5:13  But everything exposed by the light becomes visible,

Eph_5:14  for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

2Ti_1:10  but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

Tit_1:3  and at his appointed season he brought his word to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,

We are to pray that their eyes will be opened to the light of God and specifically to the light of the gospel when they are confronted with God’s Word, His offer of salvation.

Rom 10:1-17 NIV84  Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved.  (2)  For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge.  (3)  Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness.  (4)  Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.  (5)  Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them."  (6)  But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down)  (7)  "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).  (8)  But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:  (9)  That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  (10)  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.  (11)  As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."  (12)  For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,  (13)  for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."  (14)  How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?  (15)  And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"  (16)  But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?"  (17)  Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

Lt covered it well.

I will just add this.

My father and several close friends are or have been far from God. In fact, many hated Him. All I could do, and did do, is share the full Gospel message. Regardless of their reaction, I shared it out of love and told them I was truly concerned for there salvation.

As far as prayer, whenever they come to mind, I stop and say a prayer for them. That's it.

All we can do is share the Truth, we can save no one. Share the Truth, Pray when they come to mind, and let the Spirit do the rest.

Just my thoughts,

God Bless.
