All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

As many of you already know, I am a Custodian at a School.

I listened to a Christian apologist known as Nabeel Qureshi talk about how to witness to Muslims. I found Nabeel after watching some Ravi Zacharias videos.

I'm not going to go into detail. But there is something Nabeel pointed out that helped inspire me to write up this prayer request. He said as Christians it's good sign if we get persecuted in the Name of Christ. But not a good sign if we get treated badly if we are behaving badly. In other words, sometimes Christians get treated badly because they are being annoying, or they have chosen to use methods that don't bring glory to Jesus. Of course this isn't exactly how He said it. I'm doing the best I can to rely to you what I remember Him saying...

I don't think people like me, and I'm concerned about it. I'm concerned because I don't think it is because I'm a Christian. I think it is because there is something in my personality that people don't like. I fear that if this is the case, I could be failing as a representative of Christ, at work.

For some reason I have a very hard time being friendly at work when I'm aggravated by my job.  The reason I say this is because I have had other co workers who seem to be able to be friendly there.  It's like somehow they can divorce the aggravation of the teaches creating odd messes and stuff, from daily friendliness.  This is something I can't seem to figure out how to do.  I feel that I'm too honest...  Too true to how things actually are.

The biggest problem I have at work, is with my Body.  There is so much work that it causes my body to ache all the time.

Gregory I can tell you I've had the same issue. I get "irritable", especially when in pain a lot or the world's falling in around me. I've prayed and prayed over it. Prayed to be more positive. There's a guy in my building that even battling cancer, he is ALWAYS cheerful and quick with a joke. I just pray to be like that. And slowly, very agonizingly slowly LOL, I've been seeing the irritability reduce the negative reduce, the positive increase. I've also read a lot on those subjects. Sometimes adjusting things help, like sleep pattern, sleep position, diet, etc. Try changing some things to see if it helps you sleep better and feel better.
I THINK MANY OF US HAVE FACED THIS SOMETIME IN OUR LIFE , LIFE IS NOT FULL OF PEACHES

AND CREAM, I WORKED IN THE HOSPITAL 12 HOUR SHIFTS AND WAS TAUGHT I MUST BE CHEERFUL

TO MY PATIENTS , OR BE STRONG FOR THEM, I HAD TO LEARN NO MATTER HOW MY DAY WAS GOING ,

THERE WERE THINGS I HAD TO CHANGE WITHIN MY OWN SELF , I HAVE MET MANY CANCER PATIENTS

ALSO SMALL CHILDREN SICKLY THAT ARE CHEERFUL ALL THE TIME . BLESSINGS .

MY GOOD FRIEND,MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.GOD BLESS YOU!!

LYNN(GEORGIA PEACH)

ALOT OF MEDS. CAUSE FATIGUE , CONSIDER YOUR WORK LOAD THAT CAN EASILY ADD TO IT , PLUS STRESS,
THERE ARE ALOT OF PEOPLE THAT DO NOT CONSIDER WHAT THE OTHER IS GOING THROUGH, WHAT MAKES
IT PRETTY SAD FOR THE PERSON, BUT IF YOUR WORK LOAD IS DOUBLED IT COULD ADD TO YOUR THE PAIN
YOU ARE GOING THROUGH WITH YOUR BODY , I WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR YOU, I REALLY DO NOT LIKE
TO SEE PEOPLE SUFFER MENTALLY OR PHYSICALLY , YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS , BLESSINGS .
What type of BP med? I was on a med that increased my BP and had to take Lisinopril to keep the BP stable. I took it at night 30 to 60 minutes before bedtime. If there's no way around the fatigue, speak to your doctor about something to counteract the fatigue.

Am I recalling correctly that you work an odd shift? That can also play havoc with sleep and if you have to sleep days a good eye patch and ear plugs are a must.

Yes we're all different but some things we need work on. So it may seem counterproductive but what if God's intent is using it to make you more aware of this area you need change in?

I've needed to learn patience. So would it seem counterproductive to be faced with some of the most aggravating situations all together when it keep me losing my patience? It's certainly left me constantly praying for more patience and continuing to try and work on it. God doesn't see things the way we do so what appears counterproductive is about the most productive thing happening.
That bit about thinking of those who have it worse don't help. Been there done that. Just because they can handle having it worse is no reflection on you. They may have grown up in that and be used to it and more able to cope with it.

I've gone through all that same questioning...am I praying wrong, right? Did I do something to cause this?

I've tried all the various suggestions from different Christian authors. You're not worshipping enough. Get your mind off yourself and on God. Get the sin out of your life. That one kept me wondering what sin they were talking about. Thing is, they all advise based on THEIR personal experience. And just like those capable of living with worse than we have...their situation is not ours. Instead of the guilt about whether I'm doing this right or wrong I'm reminding myself repeatedly that I God will make my paths straight. If I'm wrong, He'll show me. It might mean some difficult or confusing situations but He'll get me there.

We're not to covet what others have but there is Biblical reasoning that can also frustrate.

For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have. Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality 2 Corinthians 12-14

That's how we should be living but the sad reality is its a portion of scripture people overlook. People are hard pressed to go without some luxury even knowing those right around them are suffering a need. The luxury becomes more desirable than helping those in need. And in this day and age it's often hard to know who really has a need too. But God knows our needs and He'll meet it in some way. But what we think are needs may not be so if He doesn't suddenly come to rescue you its because it's something you may not need or the timings wrong.
I CANNOT TELL YOU WHAT TO DO WE ALL HANDLE LIFE DIFFERENTLY , BUT I CAN HEAR THE HURT YOU
AARE FEELING, THERE IS SO MUCH WE DO NOT UNDERSTAND BEING A CHRISTIAN OT NOT , YOU ARE
DOING THE BEST YOU CAN , GOD WAYS ARE NOT OURS , BUT WEERE ALL HERE FOR A FEASON , YOU ARE
TRYING SO HARD TO MAKE FRIENDS AND YET NO ONE IS LISTENING , YES, WE ALL HAVE GOD , AND THAT
SHOULD BE SUFFICIENT , BUT GOD GAVE US OTHERS FOR A REASON, MAYBE LOOKING INTO THAT OTHER
JOB WOULD HELP, NEW JOB, POSSIBLY NEW FRIENDS .
THAT IS TRUE GREGORY , IF YOU MEET SOMEONE ON LINE WHO HAS A PROBLEM YOU NOT GOING TO SOLVE
IN A SENTENCE OR PARAGRAPH , THEIR ARE FEW PEOPLE HERE WHO HAVE OPENED MY EYES TO CERTAIN
THINGS , I AM A PRIVATE PERSON, BUT THIS SITE HAS HELPED MANY PEOPLE IN DIFFERENT WAYS, ONE THING
THEY ALL KNOW IS PAIN, ,ENTAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, WE LIFT EACH OTHER FOR THESE REASONS AND
THEY DO HELP,IT MAY NOT HAPPEN ON THE SPOT , BUT GOD DOES ANSWER, SO WE WAIT ON HIM, ALL THAT
SEEMS TO BE GOING ON WITH YOU I BELIEVE IS FOR A REASON AND YOU WILL BECOME STRONGER , FROM
THE PRESENCE WITHIN YOU . SEEK , HAS GIVEN YOU A FEW OPTIONS TO TRY WHAT ALL MAKES SENSE , JUST
MY OPION , SOMETIMES JUST A WORD FROM A FRIEND HERE CAN TURN THINGS AROUND IN THE MIND IN
A POSITIVE WAY , YOU ARE A GOOD MAN , YOU REALLY NEED A FRIEND THAT YOU CAN TALK TO, I DO NOT
MEAN ON LINE , SOMEONE TO COME INTO YOUR LIFE AND BE A TRUE FRIEND WHAT IS HARD TO FIND , BUT
THERE ARE MANY HERE THAT MET AND ARE TRUE FRIENDS , PEOPL ARE TO EXCEPT YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE,
AT IT SEEMS THAT IS PART OF YOUR HURT , IMAM NOT GOING TO DO SCRIPTURE ON YOU, GOD KNOWS YOUR
HEART AND PAIN, I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU ARE FEEL SORRY FOR YOURSELF , I BELIEVE YOU ARE A PERSON
THAT JUST WANTS TO BE WANTED .

Hi Gregory,

It appears Nabeel was using I Peter 4:12- 19 as text for his remarks that you described in your post.

Greg, Jesus told His disciples on the night in which He was betrayed: (14)"I have given them Your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just I am not of the world. (15) I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. (16) They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. (17) Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth." John 17:14-17 N.K.J.V..

Greg, a primary reason people don't like you.....is that you are a believer ....as Jesus told His disciples above.

The world just doesn't like us, man. And I don't care..........

Father God,

As You sent Your only begotten Son into the world, You also send those who come to You through Him. Amen.

And Father, we know that we will be ridiculed, ignored, and hated because we represent You. That goes with the territory.

Help us to remember that we have Your indwelling Holy Spirit for reinforcement during the difficult times. We are not alone.

Help us to become more and more familiar with Your Holy word......the Bible.... as our sword of the Spirit .....and help us to remember to equip ourselves with the battle-dress You offer in the Book of Ephesians, Chapter 6.

Thank You, Father, in the Name above all names........Christ Jesus.

Amen.

You got it brother. Love you

LOFTING YOU DEAR FRIEND , LOL
IT SHOULD SAY LIFTING YOU UP, MY KEYBOARD SLIPS EVERY NOW AND THEN .
