All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Has anyone ever wanted to stray from God? I've reached a point where I have basically snapped and I just don't care anymore. I just want to let loose and have fun (take that as you would like) and I don't feel guilty about it. Yet. I feel 100% disconnected from God and I want to be bad (again, take that as you would like). Has anyone else out there ever been through this? I've never felt like this before. I've felt disconnected and angry, but I've never stopped caring to the point that I want to do some things that I'm thinking of doing right now....Sorry if this is too blunt, but I really don't know how else to say it.

So, rather than seeking to address what is the root of your anger you choose to turn that anger on me ... If you change your mind and want to address what is really bothering you let me know, otherwise there is nothing further to discuss.

Thank you for proving my points for me, in regards to your PERFECTNESS and response!! Im so glad to know that you are all knowing.......................

The following is on your homepage written by you (emphasis mine):

I have no use for God as he has surely made it clear he has no use for us. 51 years of praying and serving for what? God has done nothing but shut doors and made evil people's lives easier. Don't preach that my reward will be when I die or to trust in him unconditionally. The more I think about the Bible is that it is a book of god helping others oppress entire races. I as of today have rid my house of anything to do with the hypocritical God we were foolish enough to bend our knees to daily for naught!!! Please don't any of you tell me you will pray for me as I now take that as an insult and a curse.

Those are your words, so please explain how this does not demonstrate ...

... your anger towards God.

... you believe He lied to you by letting you down (not doing what you expected of Him, which is based on an assumption as to what He should do).

LT, I will have to reply here as there is no reply button on your last post.

Yes I am Angry with God, Haven't denied that, but then you twist my words to say that God Lied to me to suit your purpose and enforce your view. The Bible is open to interpretation, and means different things to different people. Just because you read something and decide for you it means what you see, doesn't make another's interpretation any less accurate. God is the only one that knows exactly what the course for all of us is, after all the Bible was written from the memories of men, not by God Himself/herself.

But you seem to think you know exactly what the Bible says and means, when even in its text it says we can't understand Gods will? Are you sure that every word written by men,  are perfectly accurate? After all these are some of the same men, who during the final hours, turned against Jesus in the end.  I look to God for an answer, and don't count solely on the Bible to answer everything, because it was written by man and not God. I will stand by my first and ongoing words, and you cannot provide what I need, as you are no more closer to God than I, or anyone else is. Even in the Bible Moses doubted, got angry and questioned God, along with a host of others throughout its pages. God eventually answered each and every one of them. God intervened and performed miracles more than the Bibles pages document.  I know that this is still possible today, no matter how far society has fallen. You have a one track mind and only want your perspective of what you "THINK" my issue is. I have posed many a question which you so cleverly dodge, by focusing on your LIE theory. So oh great one, since evidently you can, via the internet read peoples mind, hearts, souls and know every life experience they have been through, what am I thinking now? God made us all, and don't you think he knew how mad I have been getting, before it even happened? That's why each of us are different and have a distinct individual personal relationship with God. We were made in Gods image and the Bible speaks of times that God was angry at man, to the point of destroying us. Given time God came back and promised he would "NEVER" get angry and destroy the Earth again and provided the rainbow as a sign. The honor of destroying this beautiful planet rests squarely upon our choices and mistakes. I was raised traditionally by my father in the Indian ways and beliefs. Yes we believe in the same God you do, and every other culture does, as there is only one God. God has many different names, and has appeared and made promises with every culture he visited through out history. Don't be so arrogant as to think your knowledge and beliefs are the ironclad and only truth. You do know that there are written records in reference to God and his many other tribes that pre-date the Bible, don't you? I'm glad you think you have it all figured out, but once again I'm waiting on something much bigger than you, or I and it was promised. God has told us that we can expect things from him and that is what I am holding him/her to. I don't care if you understand my issue with God or not, its not yours to JUDGE or solve. Once again I'm glad your life is perfect and you have all the answers, but I'd ere on the side of caution in casting those stones at others who may have other information, experience and views. That would border on being Judgmental, and I think we all know what has been said on that topic!!

So you reject the Bible as the Word of God, don't want help and really only want to vent. So, why come to AAG if you are not interested in getting help with being angry at God? What's the point?

Once again you twist my words. I didn't say that the Bible was not the word of God, I said It was written by man. I also brought attention that there are many other documentations in reference to the creator from other cultures that were written before the Bible. You pick and choose what you read and assert what you want to be your truth. Like I said you are closed minded. I see others on here with their doubts and questions as well. Is this your website? I didn't know that the rule was you can only think and speak when LT agrees with it. I don't judge, condemn or chastise you for your beliefs, moreover for your arrogance. You will notice that I can be civil with opposing views with others on here. I have answered every question posed to me, you haven't answered one. That's what you don't grasp, you jumped on me, I never asked for your single focused opinion. Also if you are going to quote me include all I say and not just what suits your agenda.

"I don't think many of these people, who like me are fed up, discount that God exists. If they are at the point that I am now, we know hes there but are weary of the do nothing God of present. We have been taught our entire lives about the "LIVING GOD" and all the miracles he performed and the masses he fed. The god who actually answered prayers and spoke to his people. That's the God we were taught exists, but yet in 51 years of life that one has been MIA!! Please don't any of you tell me you will pray for me as I now take that as an insult and a curse."

Just ignore me and quit your crusade, you have no point when it comes to me. Trust me I have held my tongue, and been civil with you.  Now go on your merry way, and be gone, I'll continue my conversations with those who have approached me without the accusatory holier than thou attitude. I will say it one more time, God will answer me, and you sir are far from that position!!

Shannon,

I've been angry with God. I heard Max Lucado speaking this week, and he said God would rather have you shake your fist at Him than to completely turn your back on Him. I don't think you have turned your back on Him, or otherwise you wouldn't have joined this site. You can't turn away, can you? And that is making you even angrier at God. But I'm only speculating, having experienced a similar anger.

I believe you are projecting a lot of your stuff onto LT. At least this is my perception when I read the exchanges between you and LT. He isn't responding to you in anger and his comments show he cares about you. I agree with what he has stated to you. He recognizes that you are hurting, as we all can see. I care about you, too.

Perhaps you haven't yet reached the point where you're interested in healing rather than complaining and ranting and trying to hurt God, but I know God is calling for you.

Also, I know that, for me, it seems like I'll never get to the end of the hurt in order to begin healing, and the anger has lessened but I still feel it at times, just not as forcefully and when I do feel it, conviction comes with it now. I believe you also haven't found the end of the hurt yet.

I know it'll make you mad to hear me saying it, but I'm going to help you by prayers.

Shannon,

Just ignore me and quit your crusade, you have no point when it comes to me.

Whether you listen to me or not trying to help you come to grips with your anger is not up to me, but what takes place on this site is my responsibility as the one responsible for the oversight of this website. Thus, I will leave you to your anger, but cannot and will not ignore you

Trust me I have held my tongue, and been civil with you.

If you say so. Let me be clear. I really don't care what you think of me or how you respond to me ... I can live with that. If you treat anyone of our members on this site the way you have treated me I will ban you without further notice.

Now go on your merry way, and be gone,

Yeah, not going to happen.

Shannon,

You mentioned in one of your replies that you believe the bible is open to interpretation... It really caught my eye and I just wanted to elaborate on that with you.  Would you be open to discussing that in a different thread?  I don't want to hijack Kayla's discussion.

Also, Did you see my other response (it was about signs) in this thread..?

I'd love to hear back from you on that.

Carla

Yes Carla I did see the ones about signs and I appreciate your response.

Shannon,

I'm sorry it took so long for me to respond.

You said:

"God has raised the dead, cured leprosy, stood up for whores and Criminals who repented, fed the starving masses, answered the prayers and begging of his followers etc, etc"

"Yes my question is why isn't God doing for the people of today, what the Bible says he did before? Now, either the bible is a lie, and not as accurate as we have been taught or God for some reason unknown to anyone has abandoned his children."

Many of the miracles which Jesus did are called 'messianic miracles'.  These miracles were performed specifically for a certain time to prove He is who He says He is while He was here on earth.  Why doesn't He do them today?  Well, certainly I cannot answer that question fully as I am not God, however, I can touch on what I have learned.  Jesus has already shown us who He is.  The work has already been done, the evidence has already been laid out.. The verdict is in.  Jesus is God.  Accept it or not.. If you reject it, it is still true.

Does God still work today here on earth?  Yes He does.  Would you like to talk more about that?

I believe God still does perform miracles here on earth.  They are not messianic miracles...that time has passed... But they are miracles.  One of the most obvious miracles is that a person admits their sin and repents and believes in Christ.

Blessings, Carla

TY Carla, right now I'm just not seeing the miracle that I was taught and believe that God is supposed to be. As I have said in many of the posts. I know God exists, I just have questions and doubts that only he can answer for me and its not happening. I am well aware that Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are all one in the same (The Shack was one of the best examples of the trinity I have ever read). I personally need to see something in my life happen, and so Ill sit and wait for a time. Christians through out history, and even in the Bible have questioned Gods ways and he in time made them clear to those who did. Just because Jesus no longer physically walks the Earth, I too as a Christian have my questions for God and am awaiting a sign or answer from him. Thank you for not jumping to conclusions just because of what I have posted. :)
