All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Hebrews 11:1 says that "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" so do we need to sit and hope for things to happen or we need to put some action behind our faith as mentioned in James 2:17 " In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead" ????

I think you answered your own question personally.

But tammy some people still live in hope , if we ask why's your weight not reducing  they say I am hoping that the lord will hear my prayers but they aren't willing to bypass the cookie jar , why you didn't score good marks in your exams they say God didn't hear my prayers but they aren't willing to burn the midnight oil ..... Weird it seems

Most of us forget about the Action part .

we need to  find God’s plan for an area of life, and then make daily, specific habits to get there, Cause what you are tomorrow is determined by what you do today.

God Bless You

Well, He doesn't call us to do nothing & think we're going to make straight A's. Or I know I couldn't make A's that way. I would have to burn the midnight oil to get that. We can't know all of who God is by not reading His word. We can't have a total relationship with Him without praying. We must put feet on those prayers. Faith was when Peter jumped out of that boat. Lack of faith was when He begin sinking however, He knew who to cry out to when he was sinking. I do think we need to seek His total will first before walking it. We shouldn't just go a way in which we think He should approve & reach a certain point & say Why didn't you help? Personally, I think His response would be "I didn't lead you there".

AMEN , I got the answer thanks a lot Tammy , God Bless You

There's two answers to this.  Sometimes faith is following what you feel God is saying, ie: wait.  Which is in itself an action...an action of inaction?  LOL

Other times, we cannot do it in our own strength and so we pray that God helps us to bypass the cookie jar.  Being human, we often fail, but keep praying and keep trying.

wow :) words of wisdom :) thanks Char
