Ok, honestly, when it comes to listening music, mostly I'll be all caught up on Death Metal. I don't just listen to that but other kinds of rock. I have been criticized on listening to "satanic" non christian rock bands. I just wanna get a straight up answer to this, how bad is it for a Christian to listen to non christian bands? I mean I've read the lyrics and mainly all itr talks about iof life, s struggles of life, drugs, and religion. Basically all its saying is there are too may and don't know who to believe ( which I already know) you get my point? I don't mainly get discouraged in serving God while listening to that kind of music, and I think It goes for every other kind of music besides gospel or worship music. So is it really bad if I still listen to metal, will count as a sin? I never seen anything in the Bible saying or prohibiting ungodly music. Any thoughts?

i used to listen to death metal and went to many metal shows. i no longer do for various reasons. i would just say that not all metal bands are harmless. there are many who are explicitly against Jesus and His message, or anti-Christ.

death metal music in particular has a certain feeling to it, like it nurtures feelings of f*** the world , life, nothing matters etc etc. even if the lyrics aren't questionable, music is very powerful in creating certain states of mind.

we are told in the bible to guard our hearts and minds diligently.

is death metal honoruing to God who created life and this world?

Jesus swallowed up death in victory. it seems its best to find music about His mercy on all of us and His victory over death.

not sure if this helps, hopefully it's something to think about anyway.

dude - you shouldn't be listening to most worldly music, specially death metal. God brought me out of all that nonesense and is not something that we should be listening to. We have plenty of beautiful Christian music, stick to that, it will bless you.
