is there a necessary 'prep period' in this life that makes us ready for Heaven?

must we attain a certain level of holiness here on earth before we're ready to meet our Lord in Heaven?

thanks,

The thief on the cross said remember me.:) No prep, no anything.

thanks for your reply.

then what is the purpose for sanctification?

I guess I was just asking if we needed to prepare to make it to heaven. I was saying it's not about preparing that is going to get us there. As we do live longer then the thief, we should strive to know Him more & to mirror Him. He says to be holy as He is holy. It's a daily thing that we should never give up on until we see Him face to face. Preparing for heaven doesn't affect your position in Christ but it does affect your rewards that are waiting on you.

"Preparing for heaven doesn't affect your position in Christ but it does affect your rewards that are waiting on you."

of course, thanks for this:)

That's the way I believe. There are things He asks of us while serving Him but we will fail but don't go into it thinking we'll fail. As a child of His, we desire to do as He wants us to because we love Him that much. I know I'm a short & sweet answerer but I like to get to the point of it. LOL

:) i appreciate it, thanks Taminator

1 Cor. chap 6 v 11  washed and sanctified for works which the Lord has already set out for us to fullfill.

to look at oneself to see if one is in the faith, to call the Lord our Lord and do not what He sais .  Then are we saved by accepting Christ and not keeping the commandments, for who can keep them for we are all sinners,

Christ kept the Law for us , died for our sins rose for our justification,  so the poss. of belonging to God without being fully obedient to the laws. Then theres grace,  but its the willingness on our part to be and to do His good will, we see in Matthew chap. 7 there were those who claimed to be the Lords but did things that God had not told them to do and said things were from God and told lies, God said He knew them not.  or even like that of the son who sais yes I will go then don't and the son who sais now I wont go then changes his mind and goes, who was the one who was obedient in this.  the preparation and alteration in our lives are in His hands, at the end of the day its for us to be in submittance  and willing to obey His voice. that shows us to be His sons and daughters for real. unless we give ourself other to Him who made us how can we be changed into His image !

other than the simple faith that when we see Him we shall be like Him,.

Haha - I like your question. It made me smile. Prep for heaven hahaha. Nothing can prepare us for heaven. Eyes have not seen, mind has not conceived, what God has for us and not just when we get to heaven; it starts here. The kingdome of God is near us.

Yes!"

do you mind elaborating on this? is this what the purpose of sanctification is?

thanks,

jenny

Jenny,

We must obtain Christ's holiness in our account. :) The process of sanctification is a real one and the evidence that there has been an internal renewal, but the primary thing is to have Christ atonement/purchase/shed blood placed on our account. We need Christ imputed righteousness. :)

Blessings to you sis.
