All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I love God's Word and I think the Book of Psalms is one I turn to often. I have always found that it seems to be my "go back to" book of the Bible.
What chapter of Psalms moves you and how and why?

Psalm 37 - A Psalm of victory, and we understand now that the victory is in Jesus.

Lord Bless,

LT

Psalm 27-when people fail you.

And Psalm 90--when the world seems bigger than God.

Psalm 91 is very good. I use it often when visiting the sick and /or hurting.

Lord Bless,

LT

Psalm 103:8

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

A Psalm of joyous praise, and a thankful acknowledgment of personal blessings to a lively celebration of God's gracious attributes!

God bless!

Psalm 18-Thanksgiving for Victory

This are the verses God gave me when I encountered Him.

Praise be the Lord forever...

and this is the first Psalm I memorized :) My older sister posted it on our room, back then it

didn't mean anything..Thanks be to God!

Psalm 100:4-5  4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
   and his courts with praise;
   give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
   his faithfulness continues through all generations.

hehe..Oh, how great our Father is!:)

I believe this is you, my dear sister Nancy??

I noticed you changed your name and you have your new profile too..

I added you as my friend on your new profile :)

God bless you sister! Nice to reach you, I was busy the last time.

Actually, if you didn't ask I wouldn't know what's my favorite Psalm, hehe..

thanks to you! I had to ask Jesus which one and found one..mwah~

Love,

Ella

I actually have 2 favorites for but different reasons.

The first is Psalm 51  - because I can so much relate to David  in that when I stumble or even am rebellious and God 'seems' to be far from me I know that He will restore me when I humbly turn to Him in repentance.  It is by no means an excuse or 'right ' to do something wrong , it's just simply that I had experienced an amazing amount of grace in my walk with the Lord.

The second is the 19th   because it is a psalm regarding the awesome majesty and glory of our God and it ends with my favorie prayer:

                         " Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be accceptable in Thy sight , O Lord , my

               Strength, and my redeeemer."

God bless

I love this discussion. Psalm 23 for reassurance of our Lord's faithfulness. Psalm 91 for God's overall Sovereign protection.

Psalm 70, it gives me comfort when I feel hurt.

Psalm 119 - all of it! haha

Yes is the longest.

17 Be good to your servant while I live,
   that I may obey your word.
18 Open my eyes that I may see
   wonderful things in your law.
19 I am a stranger on earth;
   do not hide your commands from me.
20 My soul is consumed with longing
   for your laws at all times.
21 You rebuke the arrogant, who are accursed,
   those who stray from your commands.

89 Your word, LORD, is eternal;
   it stands firm in the heavens.
90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations;
   you established the earth, and it endures.
91 Your laws endure to this day,
   for all things serve you.
92 If your law had not been my delight,
   I would have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget your precepts,
   for by them you have preserved my life.
94 Save me, for I am yours;
   I have sought out your precepts.
95 The wicked are waiting to destroy me,
   but I will ponder your statutes.
96 To all perfection I see a limit,
   but your commands are boundless

Psalm 19[a]

 1 The heavens declare the glory of God;
   the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech;
   night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words;
   no sound is heard from them.
4 Yet their voice[b] goes out into all the earth,
   their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
 5 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
   like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
6 It rises at one end of the heavens
   and makes its circuit to the other;
   nothing is deprived of its warmth.

 7 The law of the LORD is perfect,
   refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy,
   making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right,
   giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant,
   giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is pure,
   enduring forever.
The decrees of the LORD are firm,
   and all of them are righteous.

 10 They are more precious than gold,
   than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
   than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned;
   in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors?
   Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins;
   may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
   innocent of great transgression.

 14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
   be pleasing in your sight,
   LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

The WORD OF GOD;

- is perfect, refreshing the soul.
- are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
- are right, giving joy to the heart.

- are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

- is pure, enduring forever.
- are firm, and all of them are righteous.

- are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;

- are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb
