Faith based on evidence of an unseen God

Modern Views on Faith aren't Biblical

Some say that all ideas are equal. The new modern line of thinking is that faith in anything is equal to any other faith and even equal to faith in nothing. Some say that faith in self or faith in human wisdom is enough. Others think we should blindly follow anything that sounds positive and encouraging. Others say that faith is just an impersonal force that is holding things…

New Angels in the Church

New Angels in the Church

In recent years, there has been an ever increasing interest in Angels, especially among church people. More and more you see references to angels in Christian book stores, on greeting cards, bumper stickers and referenced in christian books and magazines.

Along the way, Christians are foolishly buying into a new-ager concept that Angels are teachers and care-givers for humanity. Some now believe we should even pray to angels. Others…

Season of big change

For any of my friends who are prayer warriors: I have a very hard set of tasks right now and appreciate your prayers on my behalf. I have a big change to make. Health matters require that I move my family a very long way from my current home state. At the same time, I am out of work, starting a new business. At the same time, my adult children have major change in their lives and need spiritual, emotional and financial support. The challenges are so much greater than I can begin to describe…

Who Are You? Part 3

He calls us to become an entirely new creation

The Apostle Paul gives us a challenge with his statement “if anyone is in Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:17). For he is saying that this is only true of us IF we are IN Christ. But, what a glorious truth it is, for those who are IN…

Who Are You? Part 2

Crisis of Faith is an Identity Crisis

Often, people with a weak identity in Christ will struggle to believe that God loves them, or that He cares for them personally. They may feel that they have lost their salvation, because of sin in their life or because of troubles that have come. “Oh, sure”, they say “I believe Jesus is The Savior – I know He died for my sins and that He rose from the dead. But, I don't think God cares about me, and I don't…

Who Are You? Part 1

Identity Crisis or Identity in Christ

Many people suffer from an identity crisis. It's hard for many people, especially young people, to know who they are and what is their calling or purpose in life. If you were raised in an abusive situation, it's even harder.

One of the hardest things for some people is to make the adjustment from seeing God as Judge to seeing him as Father, Shepherd and loving Savior. Some…

Praying for our persecuted family in Christ

God is on the move, in many places around the world today. One place he is moving is among Muslims in Southeast Asia. I have a friend who is a Pastor that has asked for prayer for new members of the faith - who are standing for Christ in the country where he ministers; it's a country that persecutes people who "convert" to Christianity.

There is an urgent issue that I would ask every believer to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ -

My friend the Pastor has…

Make me a tool ...in your hand

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith; …

Who am I for, what am I against?

What am I for?

As time has gone on, I have taken a stand on some issues here at AllAboutGod.NET, for which I sometimes get accused of being offensive, hostile or an agitator. None of those are my goals, nor my heart. I did not come here to offend, I came here to be a blessing and hopefully be an agent of the Love of Christ. I am not for anything or anyone, but the Gospel of Christ; I do not represent any church, denomination or group. I would…

I boast no more

No More My God, I boast no more

Of all the duties I have done

I quit the hopes I held before,

To trust the merits of They Son

No more my God

No more my God

No more my God

I boast no more.…

The Depth of our need for Christ's Forgiveness

Recently, there has been a lot of talk here on AAG about Salvation; the nature of our redemption and whether we can keep this gift, lose it, throw it away or have it somehow tricked away from us.

One of the things I am convicted of is that we fail to recognize the depth of our need. When we begin to think that we can produce something to offer God, apart from his Spirit, we fool ourselves. Our only offering is to empty ourselves, to die to self, and take on Christ. There is…

Sin, Rebellion and Hardness of Heart - how bad theology hurts people

Recently, we have had discussions on the Forum here at AAG.net about whether or not a person is saved eternally by Christ or whether a person can lose (and possibly regain) that salvation. Usually, this question is derived from a misquoting or misappropriation of some verses out of context, where it becomes unclear if God has truly saved us in Christ, or merely set us up for a…

Same Old Same Old

In the modern world, there is a tendency to get bored with things very quickly, especially anything stale or old. It is more tempting than ever before to give up on anything traditional or "tried and true" because we have access to so many new things all the time.

In the business world, there is a constant trend toward innovation and change. There is a whole field of work to manage that concept - called "Change Management", which helps ease a company through all of the impact of any… Continue

When Godly Brothers Dispute and Divide ___Part 1

What happens when we forsake refreshment for pride? What happens when Godly brothers miss God's will and divide?

Sometimes, in the middle of good works being done by Godly brothers in the Lord, disputes and disagreements can arise. How do we handle that? What does Jesus want us to do, when two good people disagree sharply enough to part ways? Should we accept that, and just split up? Or is there a higher call for us, as Christians – as disciples of the master, to live… Continue

"Be still and Know that I am God"

"Be still and Know that I am God"

I was raised in a home where there was little stillness. Actually, there was no stillness. There was anxiety, fervor, tension, and always the answer to problems was to do more, to scurry faster when things were not going right. The way of doing things was to react, sharply, to negative situations.

For twenty years now as a Christian, I have been learning from Christ and his word how to un-learn that pattern. But, the things we learn in… Continue

What does it take to really be changed?

When I became a Christian, I saw God change many things in my life quickly and miraculously. Then, over time, I noticed that fewer things changed and in some ways I regressed in my walk. There were many things that I struggled to change, many sins and temptations that I struggled to overcome.

Over the years, I have heard many sermons admonishing Christians to change. I have heard many people rant at the state of Christianity that there are so many who live "carnal" lives. I have… Continue

Listening & Faith on the Amazing Journey

Recently, I have been studying and writing about Jesus and the journey he leads us on. As I go, he is giving me object lessons in my own life.

It's amazing how you can forget the simple things, at times. I find myself in the middle of a project he has assigned to me - writing about how Jesus makes disciples.

I'm at a point where Jesus teaches his followers to Listen attentively to God; and I find myself struggling to be a good listener. So, I had been asking the Lord to show me…
