The Practical Christian Series. Prayer.

It amazes me how something simple as prayer has become so complicated, tedious, and hampered by man’s influence.

Praying for all the wrong reasons

The Holy Bible states we should pray for the desires of our hearts and for years I did just that. In spite of endless requests my efforts were like a dog chasing its tail; life was a vicious circle. I recently saw comedian, Steve Harvey he summed it up…

Benevolence from the Heart

There is a friend of mine who finds joy daily from giving and blessing others. I’ve seen him hand over car keys with no questions asked, bestow money to people for no apparent reason, motivational speaker for young people, as well as enhanced the skill set of athletes which has enabled them to compete at the next level. I’ve observed him create jobs, businesses and opportunities most would over look. He is continuously seeking to bless someone without expecting to get anything back. If you… Continue

JUST WHATS ON MY MIND AND IN MY HEART

I must say that God does not make it all that difficult to "Believe in the one He sent."

I have prayed many times about this kind of thing about Christmas and Easter(or whatever other name anyone gives those days) and the Holy Spirit has never convicted me of putting up a Christmas tree and loving our Jesus not only on Christmas or Easter but every day.God STILL looks at the heart.The only ones who have tried to convict me of putting up a Christmas tree are humans.The enemy has attempted… Continue

“Consider This Marrow to Thy Bones”

“Consider This Marrow to Thy Bones”

For so long we have missed the point of sin in the action of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, the church must arise and wake and walk the walk we were called to. The Word blaspheme has several meanings, all of which center around one very solid theological conclusion. If you’re disobeying God”s Word in any form of deliberate action, you’re blasphing the Holy Spirit, the unforgivable sin! Mar 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath…

The Heart Cry

"Is it true the heart doth cry".

"I hope it is" said dry eye.

"I often hear it's desperate plea",

was the response from bended knee.

Again. the mind surprised by this,

"what cause has brought such amiss".

And then the lips said "hold on there, …

A Heart of Compassion

I'd like to share with you a prayer by Pr Onesmus. This is the path of his latest devotional conviction.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lord, take a look at my hand.
Take a look at my heart.
Mold it and refine it and set me apart.
I want to run to Your altar to catch the fire,
to stand in the gap for the lost world.
Give me a heart of compassion for the world without vision.
Then I…
SERVING OTHERS
CHERRY M. STOLTZ © 2007
Am I To Be A Suffering Servant Too?
Am I really called to be like Christ?
Am I called to lay down my life for my brother?
Am I to love my neighbour as I love myself?
Is this possible?
Yes, my child . . .
But, Lord, who is my neighbour?
Is he the one next door who gets under my skin,
and reminds me least of You?
The one who is constantly complaining and… Continue
THE ANSWER TO THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS!!!
WHAT IF ALL THIS IS RIGHT???
That should be the question we ask when we hear of a brother in desperate need. But I have discovered that the normal human reaction is...
"WHAT IF THIS IS WRONG? WHAT IF IT'S A HOAX? I WILL BE RIPPED OFF!!!"
So we close our wallets and our hearts to the need.
We become more concerned about protecting our precious money than we do about protecting our precious brother.
From some tough experiences… Continue
What is TRUTH?? (Part 2)
(Another from Aug07 - see previous posts!!)
Hey, I’ve had a change of mind. I’ve been doing some more reading about truth, and discovered something different.
Believing the truth, really isn’t the most important thing. I discovered that believing the truth is the result of something more important.
The MOST important thing is to LOVE THE TRUTH!! We firstly need to be SINCERE IN OUR HEART!! That is what God looks at. To start with, the belief system could… Continue
GOD WILL DO IT!! (A New Year Prayer)
The words, “God is faithful, and He will do it!” came to mind when I was looked at this photo. It needed a text to put in the corner.
But then I asked, “He will do WHAT??” I thought I should look up the context…
The NKJ says:
“Now may the God of peace HIMSELF sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“He who calls you is… Continue
Prolonged Stress Can Trigger Serious Problems
Being "stressed out" is an all too frequent phenomenon these days. Whom do you know, yourself included, who doesn't go through some serious times of stress every now and then?
It is important to deal wisely with a stressful situation, and nip it in the bud as soon as possible. Should you have a hard time dealing with your stress and it doesn't let up, it is advisable to learn stress management techniques. It may even be necessary to remove the source of the stress, if that is… Continue
Does God Answer our Prayer?
Does God Answer our prayer?
God tells us to give our concerns to him. Even as the situation remains dismal, "Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you."12 The circumstances may look out of control, but they aren't. When the whole world seems to be falling apart, God can keep us together. This is when a person can be very grateful that they know God. "The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests… Continue
Searching for something...
I am still searching for my purpose in life, believe it or not. Exactly what is it that I am supposed to do? This is especially troubling since I found out that the heart attack I survived in November 2005 is actually called "the widow maker," as it kills about 95% of its victims.
I have been advised to: go into counseling (even counseling psychology), become a teaching pastor, start writing, go into discipleship, and/or become a chaplain at a hospital (look at all my experience!) or… Continue
