Judge
Some of you may be wondering what Judge Roy Moore has been doing since he was removed from the bench for refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom wall. Please read the poem he wrote. It's below his picture.
The following is a poem written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama . Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer. He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying…

Since joining this site I have had a warm welcome from many kind people. Several of them are residents of the Philippines.
It came as a real shock to read the following news story:
Pastor testifies that he was tortured in the Philippines
I know very little of the Philippines but I can say, based on the communication I have had here, that its people are kind and good. In photographs it looks like a beautiful…

It seems to me that many people become lost in grief. Like Jonah they feel themselves swallowed up, dragged down into the depths. What can be said to such people? What can we say to ourselves when the world seems bleak?
I like a verse that someone recently reminded me of, "
With God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26)
This is the truth of it, no matter how grim things might appear God waits to make restitution, to make all things new.
As it says in…

Good Morning. Forgiveness is God's invention for coming to terms with a world in which people are unfair to each other and hurt each other deeply. He began by forgiving us. And he invites us all to forgive each other. Lewis B. Smedes
While I am anxious to get to Acts chapter 2, it will have to wait another day; you'll see why. . .
It was early this morning when my telephone rang. Someone who had read "Thank you, Judas", yesterday's Morning Briefing, wanted to talk about it. You…

How I Do Grieve.
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
God has no pleasure in the death of any man. For we are all made in His likeness and in His image. We morn, and grieve, over the death of a loved one, I myself have grieved many times. It is a hard thing to lose someone that you halved loved all your life.
We are heartbroken by a loss, but some take it harder than others. We must…

It does not matter how you start the race, or how well you run in it, all that matters is how you finish.
I have a friend in ICU. We have known each other for over 20 years. We met in the halls of AA each having six months of sobriety. Unfortunately, he was given prescription drugs to manage pain associated with Agent Orange. These drugs eventually took over his life. He was on his motorcycle Sunday. He did not notice the red light nor the van stopped at it at an intersection he has…

Acts 1:15-26 In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty) and said, "Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus— he was one of our number and shared in this ministry." With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.…

The one year anniversary of A Good Husband came and went without much fanfare (first post here). HOW TO BE A GOOD WIFE
Home Economics High School Text Book, 1954
Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal, on time. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they come home and the prospect of a good meal are part of the warm welcome needed.
Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so that you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up…

“14And when Jesus went into Peter's house, He saw his mother-in-law lying ill with a fever. 15He touched her hand and the fever left her; and she got up and began waiting on Him,” (Matthew 8:14-15).
The instant Jesus healed this woman, she began to serve Him. What an awesome servant’s heart. She didn’t simply beg for healing, express her gratitude, and then go about her way. She instantly got up and began serving Jesus, as if to say, “I would have served You sooner, Lord, but I was…

Good Morning. Acts 1.9-10 After He said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and
a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood
beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into
heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."
After He had said what? Really,…

GOD OF THE IMPOSSIBLE
“A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.
“You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.” And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” When Jesus heard this,… Continue

Of Blood and Sacrifice.
The Body cannot live without the blood. If you had a perfect body and you would change the blood to clear water, the body would die. Why? The life of the Body is the Blood. The same thing applies to the body of a Christian and also, the Church as a whole. Without the Blood, the Body would die. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an…

There was a little boy visiting his grandparents on their farm.
He was given a slingshot to play with out in the woods.
He practiced in the woods; but he could never hit the target.
Getting a little discouraged, he headed back for dinner.
As he was walking back he saw Grandma's pet duck.
Just out of impulse, he let the slingshot fly, hit the duck square in the head and killed it. He was shocked and grieved!
In a panic, he hid the…

From My Perspective - - -
What defines who or what you are? In many instances, the things that define a person can be Family; Heritage; Region (Farm versus City; Rural versus Urban); Education; Religious Values; Political Orientation; Mindset; Motivation (or lack of same); Marriage; Sense of Responsibility/Duty; Ambition; etc. The list could easily be much longer – but these are some of the things that define one. On the other hand, there are those who are all too willing to… Continue

Which Way to Heaven?
Reverend Billy Graham tells of a time early in his ministry when he arrived in a small town to preach a sermon. Wanting to mail a letter, he asked a young boy where the post office was. When the boy had told him, Dr. Graham thanked him and said, "If you'll come to the Baptist Church this evening, you can hear me telling everyone how to get to heaven."
The boy replied, "I don't think I'll be there... You don't even know your way to the…

Good Morning.
So once again, they press Jesus to know if this would be the time He would set things straight in Israel--topple Rome's tyranny of the Jews, and set up His kingdom. Jesus replies, "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1.8 (in bold) I suppose this verse…
