A simple man, with simple pleasures.(A Short Message.)

A simple man, with simple pleasures.(A Short Message.)

Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him? What can I say about my dad? He was strong, afraid of nothing, and a man of deep love for Christ, his wife, and His Children. My dad lived a hard life, working always, and resting little. He married our mother in hard times, lost one son in death, and… Continue

The Gay Christian.

Many, in these end days, are accusing the Christian community of hate for gay and lesbian couples. This idea is wrong, we do not hate but fear for their souls. Here is the question that many are asking;”Can a gay man, or lesbian woman, be a Christian?” The Bibles answer is no.

“And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of… Continue

Choose to be Happy.

Happiness is a choice. When something happend to you, you can choose to react in positif or negatif ways. You can choose to be happy no matter what circumstances. Happiness is a decision you make not an emotion you feel. Don't worry about things that you can't change. Appreciate Today, this moment! Seize the day! Our attitude should be :' I dont care what comes against me in life. I'm going to stay full of the joy of the LORD. I've made up my mind that i'm going to live my life and be happy.… Continue

The Peace of God & Christ

I have small engineering consultancy that only employ's myself, and over the last six month's I have had to put company growth on the back burner to facilitate a large contract away from home. With this contract coming to an end and the world economy looking like it does, you can emagine my apprehension and "worry", for lack of a better word, about what the future is going to hold and whether I still have any clients, willing to give me work when I return to Johannesburg.

I have been… Continue

life of man.

A Man lived alone in the countryside with only a pet dog for company. One day, the dog died, and the Man went to the parish pastor and said, "Pastor, my dog is dead. Could there be a mass for the poor creature?" The Pastor replied, "I'm afraid not. We cannot have services for an animal in the church. But there is a new church down the road, and there's no tellin' what they believe. Maybe they'll do something for the animal; you can go and find out". Then the Man answered innocently, "I'll go… Continue

Finally!! A Passionate Embrace

When I left for church this evening, I still hadn't finished the paper that was due. I reasoned that if I got right with God, He would allow my mind to clear and focus on the task when I returned. I prayed this was true, walked out into the waning sunshine of the day, and got into the truck with a bounce in my step. It was too beautiful outside for my spirits to stay low, even if I was kicking myself in the butt seriously hard for not being as devoted as I should be to my school… Continue

Pray for me...

Oh, bother! Brothers and sisters, please pray for me!! Today is the second day in a row that I have frittered away my time, not fully devoting my attention to my studies and writing a paper that was due two days ago! Every time I sit down at the computer, my attention is drawn elsewhere. When I awaken in the morning and take the kids to school, I find that I am drawn into taking care of the day's errands. When that is done, I come home and wander the house, trying to work myself up to sitting… Continue

the stag and the grissley

THE STAG AND THE GRISSLEY

I watched a nature film one day and I saw this mighty stag going down the river looking for a place to get out. It came out onto a gravel island in the middle of the river and sat and rested. The banks on either side of the river were steep but around the next corner was a beach on the side and an easy way back to open country. But the stag could not see this.

Then along came the bear. The bear saw dinner and climbed down the bank and set out for the… Continue

Never Again?

There is a calamity every bit as horrifying and hideous as any in the bloody history of genocide in the 20th, now 21st century. The events in the Darfur region of the Sudan continue only because too few join the outcry against the mutilation, rape, and murder of thousands upon thousands of human beings.

After World War II civilized people everywhere joined the cry or moral outrage, “Never Again!” Sadly, it is happening again. And maybe too far away for many to care. Further even than… Continue

MR. MAGOO - WHAT DO WE DO?

From My Perspective - - -

Quincy Magoo - Mr. Magoo - is a cartoon character. He is a wealthy, short-in-stature retiree who gets into a series of sticky situations as a result of his nearsightedness compounded by his stubborn refusal to admit the problem. Affected people (or animals) often had the impression that he is a lunatic, rather than just being nearsighted. In later cartoons he is also an actor, and generally a competent one except for his visual impairment. In our nation…

What Work Does God Want Me to Do?

I have been watching the news lately, hearing how Christianity is being trashed by about everybody, it seems. I began to feel the need to communicate with other Christians. I feel so helpless to do something about the persecution of Christians everywhere including our own country and thought that communicating with and listening to other Christians like the people on this forum might help me to feel better about the future of our faith and just knowing that there are still people out there who… Continue

Rock & Worship

Devotional of the Week

Friday night we went to an awesome concert with Mercy Me, Hawk Nelson and Jeremy Camp. It was an amazing concert. I felt like there was nothing but God. Sometimes we forget about God. I wish I would never forget about God but we all sin, so we're not fully clean. But all of you know God can cleanse you and wash away your sins.

And if you haven't accepted Jesus as your Savior, read our blog..... next week.

"Seek the Lord… Continue

REST FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD

REST FOR THE PEOPLE OF GOD

So there remains a Sabbath rest ( the repose of Christianity as a type of Heaven, abode, rest ) for the people of God.

For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested ( from work, from toil from making an effort or occupation, by implication, an act, a deed, doing, labor ) from his works, as God did from His.

Therefore let us be diligent ( To make effort, be…

DENIGRATION

From My Perspective - - -

This past week, two separate events transpired that brought to mind different ideas that are somewhat akin to each other, namely, Belittle and Denigrate. Belittle is: “To represent or speak of as contemptibly small or unimportant; disparage; To cause to seem less than another or little…” Denigration is defined as: “to attack the character or reputation of; speak ill of; defame; disparage; belittle…”

Two illustrations of this phenomena occurred…

Bringing long and lost back to the flock

Good evening and to some Good Morning,

To All who read this I try to write this as though it where a love letter. The book of John is bar non the best.

Today my Wife and I where joined in church by not only by my Mother( a long time Believer) and my younger brother who I feel will be returning to flock in short order. Like me his heart is very sensitive, and through the course of the ministry I could feel his heart tremble in the word. I could feel the layers of the mean and evil… Continue

WHY KNOW THE FATHER'S HEART??

Why Know The Father's Heart?

Understanding the Father character of GOD is essential if we are to love Him and be assured of His love.

Worship GOD, trust GOD, be secure in GOD, pray to GOD, yield to GOD, live holy before GOD, receive GOD'S guidance, serve GOD, be like GOD, and much more.

Spend time with your Father, with His word, His love letter to you. Receive GOD as your…

What a wonderful day!!

Brothers and Sisters, today has been a wonderful day. I have been so worried about our Sister Myrna, as she is truly struggling in her walk with the Lord. Her husband has slipped back into drugs, in an attempt to feel alive again, and I know the emptiness that comes instead all too well. I pray for her and her husband and ask all who read this to do the same, as it only takes a moment to ask God to help them both in their struggle.

I got to spend yesterday doing gardening work at our… Continue
