SEEK TO LIVE A MORE CHRISTLIKE LIFE

SEEKING TO LIVE A MORE

CHRIST LIKE LIFE

No matter how much we read the Bible and try to apply the word of God to our lives we will fall short of perfection and in our efforts to emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ we will fail. We live in a sin-filled world and are bombarded by the temptations of Satan every day of our lives. Whether it is by open rebellion against God or just subtle ways of ignoring the teachings of the Bible, in one way or the other we will fall short of…

James, chapter 3

We turn the page, and read what our Lord’s brother has next to say to us.  Read with care:

1 Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.…

Talents & Faith, a winning combination over Gambling

Do not wear yourself out to get rich;    do not trust your own cleverness.

Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone,    for they will surely sprout wings    and fly off to the sky like an eagle.
  Proverbs 23:4-5

What is the obsession with gambling?  Is it the chance of risking money on a game or skill hoping to win?  Well isn’t…

Light of the World

The light shone in and pierced the darkness, The Word became flesh and made His home. He opened the doors to salvation For all who call upon the Lord..If you believe in your heart that God raised Him, If you confess with your lips that He is Lord Then the Lord of Light  shall shine upon you, and you'll be saved by His love outpoured....A city on a hill cannot be hidden. The…

Let your Light Shine

Luke 8:16- 18

16“No one lights a lamp and then covers it with a bowl or hides it under a bed. A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light can be seen by all who enter the house. 17For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.…

WORSHIP OF ALMIGHTY GOD

WORSHIP OF ALMIGHTY GOD!

On June 26th, 1986 our Sovereign Lord God Almighty brought us from India to Australia to join our family here.

While in the plane coming here, in my mind’s eye I saw the Lord sitting on His throne and He had a chess board in front of Him and I saw Him pick up one of the figures on the board and move it from one square to another. In those few seconds I was thrilled in my heart to know that Father-God was showing me that in His…

Poem: Fragile, Flawed and Easily Broken

Despite imperfections of this body,

my shell is an earthen clay jar

that's fragile, flawed and easily broken,

letting the Light of Christ shine.

Though not pretty on the outside,

I won't be mistaken

for a white-washed tomb -

God can use my weakness

to display His greatness.

I've chosen to be submitted

to His Will and Plan for my life.

In spite of exterior chips, dings and nicks,

Christ looks inwardly at my heart.

Poem: New Age Spirituality

Why settle for a counterfeit

when you can have the genuine thing?

For the purpose of "new age" spirituality

is replacing God with the Human Being.

Working from a false assumption

that Man is essentially good,

will lead us down destruction's path

as History has taught us, as it would.

The fight for supremacy

of our human souls

is still being waged by the Devil

under his planetary control.

Humanism has its agenda

that's…

When Satan Tempts Me

"Before the Throne of God"

When Satan tempts me to despair,

and tells me of the guilt within,

upward I look and see Him there

who made an end to all my sin.

Because the sinless Savior died,

my sinful soul is counted free;

For God, the Just, is satisfied

to look on Him and pardon…

THREE TYPES OF MEN MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE

THE THREE TYPES OF MEN MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE

IN Romans 8: 1-26 we read a little of these three men – the natural man, the carnal man and the spiritual man.  We will look at each of them briefly.

The Natural Man – all men born in this world are sinners.  “All have sinned & come short of the glory of God”  Roman 3:…

THE DUMB PREACHER

THE DUMB PREACHER

Many preachers are giving up the old ideas about the fall and total depravity of man.  People are not often plainly told now that they are guilty sinners before a holy God.  The sermons of our forefathers – who used to press this so constantly upon their hearers – are looked upon in many quarters as relics

of the dark ages, only fit for the old curiosity shop.

There is however, one preacher left of…

CONSIDER JUDAS ISCHARIOT'S FALL

CONSIDER JUDAS ISCARIOT’S FALL

Judas was one of the 12 disciples that Jesus Christ chose to be His followers.

Judas believed that Jesus was the Messiah and gave up all to follow Jesus.  He was learning and being influenced by the Master!  All the disciples thought that Jesus came to deliver them from the Roman Government and He will set up His own kingdom and they wanted to be part of His governing body.  James and John…

On Forgiveness . . . only God. James 2.24-26

James points to a prostitute to make his point.  In the midst of his discussion about faith and works, and to corroborate his point that the authentic Christian has some sort of ‘works’ in his life, he uses Rahab as his illustration.  Take a look:

Abraham believed God, and it was credited to…

Bad daddy

Jonathan was da son of a wicked king Saul, his friend is David who was promised by God 2 succeed Saul. If he had killed his dad he cud hav bcome da King's prime minister, or if he had killed His friend he could have succeeded as da King. He chose to save his friend, also to be with his dad in the war which costed his life. As children of God we should not look to take revenge on our bad daddy's, instead help them in their old age.

Mercy encompasses Forgiveness. (segue from James 2.24-26)

Mercy encompasses forgiveness. Segue from James 2.24-26

In the preceding briefing, I commented that God is mercificul… and mercy encompasses forgiveness.  That set me to thinking; you know, forgiveness is immense.  It breaks down walls, frees hearts, mends countries, restores…

Now is the Time

This is to the “one” I do not know your name. Nor do I know how many there are. What I do know is this. God would have you know, “now!” You have been told to do something! Why, have you put it off? If you have said, “God I need a sign.” Well, this is it, this is the sign you have said you needed. Stop putting off what you have been told to do. Now is the time.

Your Defining Moment. James 2.24-26

Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging…

I was brought up to follow Christ...

Anyone who has served as a substitute teacher or babysitter or interim manager or even guest preacher knows the challenge of stepping into a role of authority over people who aren't familiar with you. It's possible they will hear your message or lesson plan with anticipatory ears, awakened from their usual routine. More likely, though, will be complaints: "Our teacher doesn't…
