So which is right—infant baptism or adult/believer baptism? I wrote about my experience in “Baptized … have you been?” Here’s another’s perspective that I thought might be a ‘counter’ to my experience:
“My own spiritual pilgrimage reflects a common pattern in the understanding of baptism. I was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran church in which I was raised. My later confirmation class presented the truth of the gospel clearly, but it did not really come home to me. I was…

A familiar number showed on the screen of my cellphone; I smiled a greeting and heard--‘Hey, we never had Brian baptized – is it too late? Can you do it?’ And then, ‘And do we need to get some god parents for this?’
Funny thing is, Brian, the son – well, he’s 16 years old. My friend was combining two different kinds of baptism in his question—infant baptism and adult baptism or ‘believer’ baptism. Our passage today provides a great platform to discuss both.
Before, Paul…

The last couple weeks in Women of Passion, we have done some Bible page turning—sharing meaningful truths and promises from the heart of God. I am prompted to send out a couple of those right now—not sure exactly for whom they are meant, but confident of that:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified;
do not be discouraged,
for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua…

I am not sure if there are any Catholics here at all. However, I fell I own them an apology, because I remember having said things in this forum about the Catholic Church that weren't very fair.
Anyway, I recently came across…

"Mommy", little Kayla asks her mother, "do you love me?" "Of course I do honey", replies the mother. And when she goes ahead and asks, "does Jesus love me too?" "He shure does honey, even more than I do. Actually, you are His favourite". "Okay mommy" and off she goes to play. Children are so innocent in everything and just take what you tell them. Kayla is now happy beacuse Jesus and her mommy both love her, what more could she ask for?
It strikes me, why is it so hard for us…

And he answered saying:

Paul’s message has been quite clear: you are set free from religious law; for it is through God’s grace that you are made right with him.
Now, before I proceed, I wonder how many of us are bound up by ‘the law’… Oh I am not talking about 613 points of Jewish Law to which Paul was referring, but rather some other construct to which you subject yourself—perhaps unwittingly even.
The other evening I was getting a pedicure, (not because I needed one, but because the heated…

Stars do not struggle to shine, rivers do not struggle to flow,
and you will never struggle to excel in life ,
because you deserve the best.
Hold on to your dream and it shall be well with you... Amen.
The eyes beholding this message shall not behold evil ,
the hand that will send this message to others shall not labor in vain ,
the mouth saying Amen to this prayer shall laugh forever,
remain in God's love..
Your dream will not die, your plans will…

One night I went to a youth service which was held in High Point, North Carolina. I love that church, the Spirit of the Lord is obviously in that place and I just feel it so strong. That very night there was a guest preacher who was preaching a message about not giving up on God or stop going to church(aka, backsliders). He said something that I use quite often in witnessing. "It's better to be in church on the church's worst day, than to be in the world on the world's best day." I love…

God is ever so near to you, hovering over your shoulder, reading every thought. People think that thoughts are fleeting and worthless, but yours are precious to Him. He smiles when you think lovingly of Him. His spirit, who lives within you, helps you to think His thoughts. As your thinking goes, so goes your whole being.…
