Good Morning~

What can God do through one ordinary guy?

Well. . . apparently when he is filled with the Spirit, and obedient, quite a lot! Take a moment to read Acts 8.4-25, http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/index.php?search=Acts%208.4-25;&version=31;&interface=print

The order of names is noteworthy in the Bible. Throughout the gospels, Philip is always listed fifth in the order of disciples--so a 'middle of the pack' kinda guy, not your Type-A Over-achiever… Continue

The Most Beautiful Heart...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful heart. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

CORRUPTION IS BEING CORRUPTED

From My Perspective - - -

The genius of the Founding Fathers was to establish a nation and government that would be as free as possible from Corruption and Corrupting Influences. On May 24th, 2009, syndicated columnist George Will wrote concerning, “END RUN ON FREE SPEECH.” His opening paragraphs state: “For several decades, most of the ingenuity that liberal academics have invested in First Amendment analysis has aimed to justify limiting the core activity that the amendment was…

Speaking in Tongues

i recently added a comment to the discussion of speaking in tongues. i seem to be the unpopular one on this one. i don't believe that speaking in tongues is screaming gibberish and laying your hands on anyone with in reach. that's just weird and scary. and churches that do this should know that all it does is frighten many new comers away.

in acts the holy spirit filled the desciples and they spoke in the tongues - or languages - of all the tribes that were there. they didn't speak… Continue

Leaders Understand “Experiences”

Proverbs 29:13 (MSG) The poor and their abusers have at least something in common: they can both see—their sight, God's gift!

These two have little in common, at first glance, except their business dealings; but, with all life experiences, there is more here than meets the eye.

Experiences shape us, not by what happens, but by what we do about what happens. The simple common grace of God – expressed as eyesight - is offered to both the oppressor and the… Continue

Being Christian at Work

i can't believe how hard it is for me to express my religion at work. i think it's because i lived such a non-christian life before and they all know about that one. it would seem wierd to them that i suddenly made a complete 180. and the last thing i want/need is tension from my co-workers. i don't want to be known as the bible-thumping-christian-psycho-lady.

People at work don't talk or act the same way i do now and it can be akward. last night some guy made a mention of "was jesus… Continue

German churches’ wartime declaration

The actions of a group of German church members in 1934 to resist the Nazi regime still serve as a powerful model for churches today according to the General Secretary of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC).

Son

Son, when was the first time you feared God?

Mom, I was at work, it was raining, terrible lightning and the lawn needed mowing in front of the store. No one else would go outside and of course I made fun of them and called them names.

I'll be a man, I'll do it. As I was mowing a bolt of lightning struck right in front of the mower. I looked right up to heaven and said, "Is that all you got?" The next bolt, mightier than the first struck right beside my left leg. The earth… Continue

God's Plan

Actually this Blog is coming from an article I read in a Seminary class called "free will" and from the beautiful blog Bob wrote of the "deception of the enemy". Especially about not being able to blame satan for our sin. Thanks Bob.

This may be more of a reflection, but here goes...please bear with me as I set the stage.

Genesis 2: 8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 The LORD God made all kinds of trees… Continue

My River

My River

We walk along on a Sunny day.

A river bank.

My friend and I looking

For a place to pray.

The breeze is soft,

Ducks fly back and forth

Up and down the river.

Our pilgrimage our share

My friend says with a smile I’ll

Help you learn the right prayer.

God touches our hearts with friends

Like this.

We sit and begin to say a prayer

For intentions of Love, for

All our sins.

We gaze upon the river not… Continue
