My story with God
I have been a Christian for a long time, more than 25 years. As a young believer I realised that my life was a mess and things had to change. For many, many years I attempted to change myself and got super busy in the church “serving for Jesus”. Eventually I suffered a total burnout and had to drop out of ministry. I was so frustrated and angry when I realised I couldn’t live the Christian life the way it was taught in most churches. It wasn’t just difficult to live – it was impossible! After I wore myself completely out, God who is compassionate and rich in mercy showed me that I was acceptable to Him simply because of the work of Christ. I didn’t have to work to gain His acceptance. Oh, happy day! I understood why the Bible is called the Good News. Now I am continuing to walk in the “unforced rhythms of grace” and getting ready to go on a short term mission. When I surrendered to God and stopped striving, He opened a door without me trying to kick one down : )
Other stuff about me:
I believe there is nothing that the nearness of the Lord will not cure. All things work together for the good of those who love God-those whom he has called according to his plan. There is a reason for suffering and through it we come to learn things we cannot learn any other way. God permits what He could easily prevent to bring us into a dependent relationship with Himself. When troubles and frustrations drive us into His presence, they have served their purpose. We can give thanks in all circumstances because through them God is working out His purpose and plan for our lives.
