Man claims to be Jesus
I read an article today about a man from Australia who claims to be Jesus Christ reborn, he also claims that his partner is Mary Magdalene reborn; they've gathered quite a following and many have given up work, businesses, homes and families to move closer to this couple.
The man seems to want to genuinely help people (though I don't know his heart) but I am seriously concerned for his salvation as well as that of the woman and their "followers". The bible is very clear as to what we will expect upon Jesus' return and, as I'm sure you are all aware, it states nothing of such a rebirth.
I would like to ask for you all to join me in praying for all those involved in this affair; primarily I would ask that we pray for them to come to know the true God, the true Jesus. I'd also like to ask that we pray for God to open their eyes and their hearts to the truth and that he would encourage and strengthen those who already have faith that may be led to confusion by this news.
Glorious Father, we thank you wholeheartedly for your goodness and grace. We lift these people up to you; please shelter them from false doctrine, from lies and confusion. Please watch over them and guide them to your true self, reaching out to them with such a love that only you can give. Lord, if this man truly believes he is your precious Son reborn, please heal his mind and encourage him to see the truth of the matter. You know his heart, Lord, and you know exactly what he and his partner need. Please oh Lord protect their "followers" from spiritual harm and shower them with your love and grace and please strengthen those who already know your beauty so they are not confused. In Jesus' almighty name, Amen.
On one final note I would like to thank and praise God because I used to be someone who would be very confused and scared upon reading such material; I didn't now much of the bible or of God himself and so would like to thank him for opening my own eyes and soothing my heart. I know the truth now and I sincerely hope and pray that those affected by the aforementioned will be able to come to the true and living God. May their faith grow and be strengthened in the beauty, love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, may they find peace and know no confusion no matter what this world throws their way.

EEK! Well, right off the start "he also claims that his partner is Mary Magdalene reborn", so they've bought the "Da Vinci Code" line: somehow, basing your beliefs and faith on a 2003 mystery-detective novel that author time and time again has insisted is FICTION rates right down there with basing it on an author's (Ron Hubbard's) science fiction.
Repeat after me: Cult. And not only a cult, but one based on so many misconceptions, half truths, and just sheer invention.
I won't blame this on Satan, people can usually find a way to mislead and self-deceive themselves without his help (I was an expert at it). (Well, that's what the atheists say about we followers of Christ I guess. The central problem is people (and in a good extent the higher education system since the 70's) cannot see that there is an enormous different between sincerity in one's beliefs and faith, and TRUTH in one's beliefs and faith.
Yes, we must pray for all of these people, this sort of thing pretty much always ends very messy and badly for them in life; and after, well Eternity is a Hell of a long time for those that have not accept the truth of Our Lord as Savior and Lord. -

Our Holy Father God, who art in heaven, truth and freedom be Your name.
As Your Son, who brought truth and freedom to His disciples during His brief ministry here on earth, authored these precepts: " If you abide in My word as disciples of mine, you will know the truth.......and the truth will make you free.
Father, it seems there are two who are not free, because they are not showing knowledge of the truth. And also, there are those who are lacking these two necessary traits, who are blindly following those who cannot see. Lord, as Your Son used clay and spittle to open a man's sight, use Your Holy Spirit to get the attention of these wayward souls that they would see the truth of this masquerade, and be free of the fatal consequences of their folly. We pray that You will make them all free indeed through Jesus Christ.

My oh my! The Words of our Messiah Jesus are coming to pass, for He said:
"Take heed that no one deceive you. For many will come in My name, saying 'I am the Christ.' and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows..." [Matthew 24:4-8]
"Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand." [Matthew 24:23-25]
Thank you for sharing this article, Rachel. Indeed, we have to be on high alert for false teachers and false doctrine. Our Holy Bible, God's inspired Word is our point of reference. We must be vigilant...we must be like the Bereans, who always searched Scripture to check whether Paul was preaching God's truth.

How right you are Ricprimus. Many will accept any man-made lie and call it truth, rather than take the time to search the Scriptures for God's truth. Man's lies will not set anyone free, only our precious Messiah can do that...and has done so through His free gift offer of Salvation.
I like what Colossians 2:8 states "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
How sad it is that once again the words of our Messiah ring true: "Enter ye in at the straight gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." [Matthew 7:13,14]
I'm reminded of Paul's admonishment of the Galatians Christians who allow false doctrine into the church: "O FOOLISH Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set fort, crucified among you? [Galatians 3:1]
Our world is rapidly spiralling out of control. Soon Messiah will return. What will He find? He Himself answered that question: "But as the days of Noe [Noah] were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:37
We, Christians, have to stand firm on the Word of our Triune God, for it is Truth and Life! Hallelujah!
"Father God, please secure us under Your wings of love and protection; for the devil is on the prowl. Amen!"
