Creation Science

A place to discuss the growing evidence for the Bible's book of Genesis and the creation of the universe. I personally have young earth leanings but will accept old earth believers as well as long as discussion stays civil and in a Christlike manner.

Why do I exist? What is the purpose of life?  Why is there pain, suffering and death?  What does the future hold?

Is all life and the world and universe around us the random result of an inexplicable cosmic big bang, a so-called "god particle, or by the creative act of the one true living and eternal God?"

The answers can be found in the Bible.

Gregory,

Thank you for responding. A lie is being perpetrated on our children and we seem helpless to do anything about it. I am very concerned. We have enough scientists now telling us the absolute impossibility of life originating on its own that there are no excuses left for allowing this to be the main teachings of our schools. Since we now can see inside a living cell through modern microscopes and see all that is going on and realizing what it really takes for a living cell to be alive, we have no excuse. The evidence is there. A living cell requires more information that any other structure on the face of this earth. The most sophisticated spaceship manufactured and designed by NASA doesn't begin to match the complexity of a simple living cell. Yet, our nation and other nations around the world continue to teach our children that living cell originated on their own. I am very concerned at the lack of caring about this. I pray that we will soon realize that we should not allow this doctrine straight from hell to be continually taught to our children. The idea of a common ancestor for all living things is directly opposed to God's teaching that He created all things after its own kind. Vegetation, animals and man are all created especially by God to fulfill a particular function in our world. God created all creatures, each after their own kind. This says specifically that we did not evolve. God, help us to wake up.

Roy,

I have been wanting to try an answer your question.  But lately I have been busy doing my own researches.  Then I keep forgetting lol.   I think the debate between creation and evolution is an important one, but perhaps it isn't as important to this particular website.

Just how important is this Creation science/evolution debate? From the numbers here on AAG, it appears to not be very important. Out of the thousands and thousands of members on AAG, only forty are members of this group. I thought I would research the founder of the group, Chicago Mel. I looked through many of the pages and did not find one post by her. Are you still out there, Chicago Mel? Why did you start this group and then disappear?

I joined the group because I believe in Creation - the Genesis account. I'm not sure what the term "Creation Science" actually means. Science is supposed to be a scientific study of the physical universe and biological systems. It indicates a purposeful search for knowledge through data achieved from systematic research and experimentation documenting results of such.

Again, I am not quite sure what Creation science really means but it has become a pretty popular term over the last few decades as more and more scientists interpret science based on the Bible as being authoritative rather than suggestive. For a brief time there were quite a few debates between Creationists and Evolutionists. According to some, Creationists tended to win most of those debates. It is now difficult for Creationists to find credible atheists and evolutionists that will debate. I am certainly not a Creation scientist. However, I listened to those debates just to see how solid my position that the Word of God is authoritative and not suggestive really was. I found as expected that even in the 21st century, it is still very easy to believe that the Bible is indeed true as written. For most, it is pretty easy to know when we are reading historical narrative and when we are reading a poetic passage full of allegory. In one of the debates I heard, a scientist gleefully point out that in one of the Psalms the poet mentions that the earth cannot be moved (Ps 104:5), to which the creationist pointed out that the same poet also said that certain men could not be moved. (Obviously he had had that one presented to him before).

I have heard some of the most knowledgeable men speak on this subject and remain convinced that the Bible should be considered as authoritative. The Bible and God is under attack by what is becoming a more and more secular society and many Christians are crumbling and accepting naturalism while attempting to consider themselves still as Christian. Barna has reported that virtually no child graduating from high school for the last several years has a Biblical worldview. The teaching that we and the ape have a common ancestor has become the norm rather than a rarity.

I think this is an issue that must be considered in light of developments in our society. Jesus questioned whether or not He would find faith when He returned. Today, that statement is beginning to make a lot of sense. Is it possible that faith in Christ which is so dependent upon faith in the Bible will become more and more secular until it just completely disappears.

Gregory,

I have a question. If DNA is required for a living cell to work (and we have no example of a cell not having DNA) what instrument read the DNA code in the beginning. In order for a cell to work, you have to have transcription and translation.

I am convinced that all biologists know this but are willfully lying to our culture. Today, there is too much information available for anyone to continue to deny the creation of God. What this leaves is complete irresponsibility of the church for allowing these liars to be in control of our school system.

I went in disguise into a discussion of how to teach evolution to children in light of all that we have learned in the last thirty years. The suggestions are: maybe there was a cell in the beginning that did not need DNA, or maybe it happened by random chance that enough came together to form that first cell. The truth is there is no good proposal for teaching evolution to our children. Their position is: since we are here, we know that evolution is real. Our nation is absolutely responsible for allowing these to have control of our schools. Today, all representation of God has been ruled out as a possibility. To teach that it could have been God would result in that school at risk in losing all their funding.

What could be done? States could decide to opt out of all federal programs and fund their own schools. This is what they should do. This is complete irresponsibility to teach our children this doctrine straight out of hell.

There is only one good explanation for DNA, transcription and translation. That explanation is found in the Bible. God could not give us more. I do not understand our willingness to allow this doctrine to be taught to our children. I teach Bible and do teach of this doctrine but teach why it is so wrong. When the children saw how teachers were told to teach evolution, they could easily see why it was wrong.

I think Dawkins has every right to reject God. God gave him that right. However, the rights he does not have is to have one ounce of influence on my children. I will not allow his lies to be perpetrated on any that I love. He has no answers. I agree that Creationism is not science or what is called science today. However, evolution is so far from science it has now reached the stage of being absolutely ridiculous. What is happening is that science is being redefined by these that have been turned over to a reprobate mind.

If someone wants to believe in chemical and biological evolution, that is fine. However, please don't call that science to our children. We are losing our children. I am doing all I can to stop this travesty. I am giving my life. I am preparing to do something that may lead to total bankruptcy. Yet, I don't want to die with one dollar in my pocket as long as one child is being taught this doctrine as fact. It is time for God's people to get bold. We need to march on the gates of hell. They have no proof for their lies. They have no business teaching this as science.

Gregory,

I did not have the idea that you didn't believe in a literal six days. I was agreeing with your post.

RoyW,

I do believe in a Literal 6 days.  What gave you the idea that I didn't?

I agree that the most important part of this study is the existence of Mt. Sinai. I think they have truly found it. The traditional mountain doesn't seem to fit the description at all. What is important is that God tells us that there He spoke to Moses face to face. Sometimes God spoke in visions and dreams to His prophets. It was left for them to try with God's help what the meaning of those dreams and visions were. That was not the case. He said what He meant with Moses. He did not speak in dreams, visions, or mental inspiration. He spoke to Him clearly as one friend would speak to another. We are told that God did not use riddles or any kind of method that required interpretation of the words said. When He said six days, He did not mean 13.7 billion years. When He said He made the earth before the sun, that is exactly what He did. When He said He made light on day one and the sun on day four, that is exactly what He did.

When we read Genesis - Deuteronomy, we don't need to have it interpreted for us by scholars. A child can read Genesis and understand it.

If you believe in Sinai, you have to believe in six days. I do not see how they can be separated.

RoyW,

It doesn't matter to me that where they crossed either.  But I don't think Josephus is necessarily a good source either.  Remember Bob Cornuke and Larry Williams said they wanted someone of a higher authority to come in and confirm their findings.  Also remember the main point of their expedition was to investigate Mount Sinai.
