All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Do you?

Philippians 4:6,7

rdo not be anxious about anything, sbut in everything by prayer and supplication twith thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
And uthe peace of God, vwhich surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
1 Peter 5:7
ycasting all your anxieties on him, because zhe cares for you."
A person very close in my life said very matter of fact "I don't worry".
It made me think... Do I worry?
It also made me feel that this person is unapproachable.  ...Like they don't understand the struggle.
I used to worry....and I'd like to think I'm obediently walking thru life now without worry, but then certain thoughts come to mind and I'm tempted to worry.
My son is on a school trip today with the senior band... it's amazing to me how unwelcome thoughts can enter in can tempt us.
Will he be safe on the bus?
Will he behave?
Terrorist threats are very real....Will he be safe?
Will he use sunscreen?
Will he eat healthy?
If I dwell on these things I will be ineffective in my day.
I simply have to remember to bring these things to the Lord.
I would say I no longer get distracted by worry to the point of being ineffective, but I don't think I can honestly say I don't worry.  The worry comes in, but now I know what to do with it.  Now I know I can tell Jesus that I am worried about it... and I ask Him to carry it and take it.  I repent from it because I know it only exhausts me and steals my joy, that's not what God wants for me or for anyone else.

Everything that I'm tempted to worry about is out of my control....  Knowing that frees me.  It's comforting to know that it's not out of God's control though.

I think I'm learning that worry is somehow connected with having the need to control my surroundings.  It's always things I can't control.

Do you worry?

How do you handle it?

Are you inspired by people who say they don't worry?

Are you challenged?

Are you offended?

I do not worry, but my heart breaks for the lost who face an eternity separated from God.

One of the greatest gifts God has given me is a strong faith in Him, but specifically relating to His sovereignty. He is never challenged or caught off guard. He has everything under control. The problem for some is that they want freewill and yet also expect God to stop bad things from happening. Can't have it both ways. God has chosen to give mankind a large amount of liberty in this life and yet that does not diminish Him one bit.

Lord Bless,

LT

Amen.

I rarely ever worry. If I do, it's usually about Destiny & what is next in her life. I know worry doesn't help her out or me for sure. I could say I worry about my boys but I'm not sure it's worry as much as I just ponder on their growth & things I need to do to progress that growth & stuff. I use to drive myself nuts worrying over bills & money but finally began to laugh thru it. Worrying & stressing wasn't paying the power bill so why stress? I would take it to the Lord & if the power cut off, I'd praise Him for having candles. I'm not saying I'm all that when it comes to worry but as you get older, you worry less because you know the payoff is a heart attack, stroke & grey hair.

My biggest challenge over worry is my kids, I don't think worry tempts me in any other area.  If it does I know God will show me.

I love the story of Abraham offering Isaac as a sacrifice.  It has so much prophetic depth and meaning, but in this context it means giving our children over to God and watching how HE takes care of them.  It's something I need to remind myself of often when I begin to worry about them.

It's just being a mother I suppose.

Yes,  I agree.

I do slip up and worry, I know the Bible
teaches not to worry. And yes I am inspired
by others that don't worry. Also I learned a
while back not to take offense. I will ask the
Lord to help me with worry.

Thank you and God Bless
David
