OK. Is their a question to this?

lol your too cute I was just thinking about if there is two images then there must be a mother God.

Hello Maria -

Are you really wondering if there is a mother God for reals or are you just kidding :)

Yes, I was reading this scripture "The Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all." (Gal. 4:26)

Maria,

In language, most languages (Spanish included) we give cars, boats, cities a feminine connotation, I don't recall why we do that, but we do. Here the writer refers to an inanimate object as a "female, but it does not mean that a city is our real mother or that there is a Goddess of some sort. The word of God says nothing of Goddesses. We are the Church and God refers to us with a feminine noun. I know I had a bit of a problem with the scriptures that say that we are the bride of Christ because I am a male and I am no bride hahaha but I am the bride of Christ. Like Jerusalem being call a mother, the church being called the bride is imagery.

There may be more to it, but that is what comes to my mind for now. We are the descendents of the free woman (Sarah) and not the slave (Hagar). We are the sons and daughters of the free Jerusalem.

God did say let us make male and femail in plural.

He even created all living creatures male and female.

God is Spirit and without body. Jesus took on human flesh, but that is not the same as saying God is flesh. Thus, what part of man is created in God's image? The part we know is spirit or the flesh which God does not have? God gave human kind two types of flesh in order to multiply.

Yes I understad that he made us to procreate. So who was he talking to when God said let us make male and female?

Does not the Scripture reveal that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (3 yet one God) communicate?

Maria..  Indeed God was speaking to The Holy Spirit and to Jesus... The three make up the Trinity.

Thank You! For your wisdom! I love how you put it so simple for me to understand.

Hey Maria,

My study notes say this about that scripture:

'Heaven' (Heb 12:18-22).  Those who are citizens of heaven (Php 3:20) are free from the Mosaic Law, works, bondage, and trying endlessly and futiley to please God by the flesh.

'our mother'.  Believers are children of the heavenly Jerusalem, the 'mother-city' of Heaven.  In contrast to the slavery of Hagar's children, believers In Christ are Free. (Gal 5:1;Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18; John 8:36; Romans 6:18,22; 8:2; 2 Cor 3:17)

Verse 27 Paul quotes Isaiah 54:1 to the Jerusalem above (in heaven)

In her exile and dispersion, Israel has been destitute, disgraced in the same way as a women who has not had children. (Isaiah 49:21)

There is no mother earth or mother God.

Hope this helps a bit.
