All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Do you believe in a watered down Gospel?

Do you have the power of God working in your life...would you know it if you didn't?

How does the Bible describe those who have not the power of God working in their lives?

I think these days, the problems rise in us not offending enough.

I believe many believe a in a watered down version of the gospel without realizing that they are believing in a watered down version. They haven't formed the right understanding concerning regeneration, justification, sanctification, and forgiveness itself, or how the atonement and Christ being our substitute not only forgives us but justifies us and how His righteousness is imputed to us. I think these things can take place within a person, since the new birth is a gift given to us by God, without someone "fully" understanding what these things mean, but one must see their sin and see who Jesus is before believing becomes faith that leads to repenting and confessing. I believe this is what Scripture teaches.

So, is someone believing in a watered down version of the gospel if they misunderstand that the blood of Christ provides both justification (a full pardon from the judgment of condemnation and instead the sentence of eternal life) and forgiveness (cleansing of sins)? My answer is yes -- something is missing in the version of that gospel that this person believes, especially if the person is still trying to justify self through their own works.

Many people go through a season where they don't experience the power and the presence of God. It doesn't always mean they are lost.

The Bible has many examples of people who are going through a time of experiencing a loss of God's power in their lives. Samson is one. Job, another. The psalms speak of others. Read Psalm 88. The Bible clearly describes such people.
